Never again! In May 2025, I hired CRC to replace a detached garage roof. They were responsive and came out to quote the project, and I essentially went with a full replacement. My garage rooftop deck is finished with Trex decking so part of the agreement was to remove the decking and reinstall it - as is - post roof replacement. They came out on schedule and removed the Trex and replaced the floor boards where needed - per our agreement they were also suppose to replace the liner but they didn't. No big deal - they replaced half of it that was sitting over the damaged wooden floor boards. Once the roof was replaced, I pushed them to complete a water test - I basically brought a hose up there and ran water to see how it would drain. The drainage was ok not great as you could see small shallow pools of water. When asked, they said it how the roof pitch is setup - so fine we move on. Once the roof is done, they start to install the deck. About 80% of the way through, I happen to do a quick check and notice the deck is clicking. Apparently, they did not purchase enough Trex clips that secure the boards to the sub frame. So they agree to purchase more and install them. The right way to do this would be to remove the deck boards and start over but they removed a few boards and slid the clips in and drilled the screws down. Here is where it all went wrong. They screw heads started to chip and break the edges of the Trex decking. You think with the owner standing there he would have told them to stop but they kept going and ruined my Trex decking. Zero quality control or management from the owners who are there to push their crew to complete the job fast and move onto the next one. Not only did the ruin it, they installed the deck boards at an angle so the deck isn't even straight. They agreed to find a solution and come back to repair - and even took a small piece with them to match colors. Months go by and I keep hearing excuse after excuse. I sent multiple emails to the owner and exchanged texts (all of which I have in my records). All I received in return were promises to touch base and then once winter came, we decided to push the repairs to spring 2026. So May rolls around and I started corresponding with the owner (Adam) - who doesn't even care to respond but has his father (Richard) who is involved with the business return phone calls (have voicemails to back this up). He tells me that he will add me to his schdue on a Saturday / so Sat rolls around and I don't hear a word. I chase them and wait around all day. No show and no phone calls. I call them on the following Monday and ask them to fix this issue but no response. I sent them an email asking them to call to sort this out and no response. I would AVIOD them at all costs / they will damage your property and not resolve it. Seems like they will say anything to get the business.If you lucky enough where damage didn't occur then great. They also offer a warranty - given this experience, I don't expect them to honor it irrespective of I have it in a written document. Super disappointed. I was quite patient and understanding but they took advantage of my flexibility. Additionally, they will ask you to pay with Zelle / cash. read more

OK, I have hired these guys twice already. They do excellent work and the pricing is fair. The first time was to fix a skylight that was broken. They were the first people to call back when I was searching for a company, and they were out the next day to check out the work. They repaired the broken skylight and redid the flashing. I haven't had any leaks since. They did the work in one day, and I'm very happy with it. I brought them in a second time to fix some gutters because water was getting into my basement. Again, the work was done well and done quickly. The same day they finish the job, a big thunderstorm and roll through, and no water got into the basement. I brought him in a third time to fix some stuff around the chimney (flashing, tuck pointing), and again superb work!!! They are knowledgeable, friendly. They do great work, and I think they charge a fair price. I hired CRC to rebuilt my porch because of their good reviews on Yelp, but I am super disappointed by the overall quality of workmanship. Please see the pictures for all the points below. - Less than two weeks after my porch was built, I noticed that one of my steps was super wobbly. The anchor holding it in place was broken. They did fix this anchor later by nailing it back in place. Since then, I've noticed other anchors that have come undone. - They broke my fence and didn't tell me (I didn't notice it was broken until later). They did come "fix" it two weeks after they asked, but they just propped it up so it didn't look broken anymore. To be fair, the hinge on the fence was old, but they should have informed me instead of just leaving it on the ground. - The paint job for the deck was super sloppy. - They left tons of nails and wood pieces in my yard that I had to clean up myself (see the pic of the bucket full of some of the pieces). - One of the steps was noticeably crooked. I pointed this out after the deck was done, but they said they couldn't fix it. - After they finished, I noticed a wood piece attached to the railing was broken, which they did fix. I will say Adam, who was my point of contact, was responsive to all of my texts. They were slow following up on repairs. The job was done in a day, and it's pretty evident it was rushed. I've hired multiple contractors before and have never had any issues. That is to say, sometimes I read poor reviews on Yelp and chalk it up to the reviewers being picky and demanding, but that is not the case here -- the pictures attached to this review speak for themselves. My stairs should not be falling apart less than two months after they were built. Mid-December, I discovered a tiny leak coming from my roof. After calling around and having a few roofers out to give us an estimate. Given the timing, the shorter daylight hours, and rainy weather, it took Adam from Chicago Roofing Consultant a couple of days before he could come out and give us an estimate (understandably so, i just mention it to temper your expectations in case of sketchy weather). I told Adam what i was seeing, he went up on the roof to check things out, and gave me his assessment and an estimate. Adam communicated the issues he saw, what the potential options were, and what it would cost and the potential timeframes he could do the work in. Of the roofing companies I talked to, Adam felt the most honest and the estimate most reasonable. Additionally, he sent over the estimate electronically after we spoke which made it easier to evaluate and make a decision.
