I purchased a home that had a fence installed by Fence Solutions in 2021. The fence looks great, and honestly, it was part of what made us decide to buy the house. Now for the problem. We have two gates. One of them is next to the garage, and the post that the gate latches to isn't actually a real post. It's just a hollow vinyl sleeve that's attached at the top to the garage, but it's not secured to the ground. It's basically floating. According to the original receipt, the installation included 5x5 posts set 36 inches into concrete footings. That clearly isn't the case here. I contacted the company and initially got their automated system and left my information. After not hearing back, I called again and spoke to someone who was able to locate the original job and said I'd get a call back within 24 to 48 hours. I did get a call the next day, but the person who called wasn't prepared. I still took the time to explain the issue and even sent photos and a video showing exactly what's going on. Despite that, he immediately started talking about costs without ever seeing the job in person. I made it clear that I wasn't calling about warranty coverage. I understand it's been more than a year. I simply asked for someone to come out, take a look, and provide an estimate in writing, along with an explanation of how the issue would be fixed. When he mentioned that the fix would likely involve installing a proper post, it raised the obvious question, why wasn't that done correctly in the first place? He said he had another meeting in 15 minutes and would follow up after speaking with a colleague. As expected, I haven't heard anything since. read more

Horrible customer service- Fence Solutions plays games on the phone, tries to shuffle you between people, denying responsibility. They installed a cedar fence in Glenview which needed repair after the recent rainstorms in mid-March. Despite calling and leaving messages multiple times, there was no response. The office put us in contact with someone named Eric who promised dates and then did not deliver. Every instance of dealing with Fence Solutions involved my wife and I having to track them down, calling multiple times. Promised scheduling was not adhered to. Excuses constantly made. Eric even used a term called change face - he had to explain it was a sales/marketing term meaning they would try to have a different person (or 'face') speak to us. I had 6 different companies estimate a fence install. I was shocked at the pricing for vinyl fencing! So budget was important, but so is customer service and likability. They are extremely busy so sometimes I took some time to answer a question but overall they were responsive and very helpful. The fencing is taking forever to deliver from the factories. The guys came out and we're very detailed, even though my terrible neighbor kept bothering them! (The reason for the fence). They kept diligently working, checking and rechecking to make sure everything was lined up properly. I must start off by saying that we absolutely LOVE our new fence. Eric came out to walk through the fence work that I wanted at my house. I informed him that I was getting other estimates and needed the estimate in a few days. He said he would have it for me. I did not get the estimate in the timeframe that we discussed so I gave him a call. I did not hear back from him so I called him again. He was nonresponsive. I'm not sure why he did not respond or provide me with an estimate for the job. It was a waste of my time to have met with him. This company installed a fence 3 years ago (2018). Today, the fence is falling apart. Sections are tilting, breaking away from the posts. Nails are visible in many places, breaking away from posts. The posts are popping from the ground. Several photos accompany my review. The first shows the sections weakly attached to a post, and the second shows the same sections after I had lightly pushed the post, the sections simply break away from the post. One other thing is that they wanted payment when they claimed the job was complete, but they had not made a proper connection between the new fence they had installed and an older section which separated a neighbors yard. These folks have a small dog and it could have easily entered my yard through this gap. Who builds fences this way? Stay away from this outfit. read more

We had our fence put in about a month ago...and it's still standing! We dealt with Eric and liked dealing with him. Our fence blew down due to a storm and by the time we got many quotes, permits etc, Eric was good to go during covid and got the fence up in no time. As far as if the fence will still be standing in a few years ‍. I will come back and review in a few years. The reason why I am giving this company 4 stars is not because of anything they have done etc. It is their warranty of one year. That was the lowest of all the places we received quotes from. The crew was there first thing in the morning. They worked very efficiently unloading and making sure not to dig before the utilities were marked (guy came out same day). Mark, part owner, came to conduct our estimate for a fence. We walked around are yard and he had our plat and told us where the fence would go. Months later we decided to sign a contract and get it. I then asked if he could send someone to clearly mark where the fence would go so I could coordinate with my landscapers to remove a few bushes in the way. He sent his partner, Chris, who showed a different line than Mark did, 3 feet different. When I said wait Mark told us the fence would go back here he said no, Im better at reading plats than he is. The boundary Mark showed us was our neighbors not ours. Based on this mistake we decided to cancel the order because the real line would back up and encroach on our patio. Originally I was told 6 weeks for manufacturing but then it changed to 3 months. The owner was rude on the phone when we tried to talk about his mistake and replied do you know how many of these estimates I give a day. How can I remember yours. He wouldn't take any responsibility for his error and said I would get charged a restocking fee. I said for what nothing had been started yet. He return all but 25 percent of my downpayment in a few days. I called the manufacturer who said no fee was charge to them. I suggested he do the right thing and return my $1,400.00 which he kept because his mistake was why we cancelled. He refused. read more

If you are looking for a top drawer, quality company to build your next fence, look no further than Fence Solutions Co. My initial contact was with Katie, the Project Manager. In spite of the rainy weather, she came to our house and spent time reviewing my requirements, measuring, and answering my questions. All in a downpour. She kept me in the loop during several weeks of rain which caused the project to go on hold. You cannot build a quality fence if the ground is soaked. Once the weather cleared, the construction team led by Chris, showed up on time at 8am and completed the project by 5pm; one day as promised! Chris and his team were truly excellent. And the results speak for themselves!! The fence is high quality and looks fantastic. The new gates were installed perfectly and open/close very easily. When they were done, Chris showed me an area about 6 feet long where the ground was not level to the fence bottom but curved below the fence leaving a gap. We have several dogs and Chris realized that a medium size dog could crawl out of the yard below the fence at this stretch. Chris offered to return and replace the 5 or 6 pickets with longer ones that would conform better to the lay of the land. I was impressed. Seriously, Fence Solutions is the best fence company I have ever worked with and I have worked with many. Give them strong consideration for your next fence project.
