Estimate was quick and competitive, scheduling was easy. However, no one called me on the day of service. The time came and went, and no one showed up. I called the company and they told me someone would be there in fifteen minutes. When they showed up, it was a different fence company; did they just call in some emergency guy at the last second? Maybe, because the service was okay, but not great. They got the job done, which is the most important thing, but I certainly don't understand the hype of these other reviews. Ruben was quick and thorough with getting an estimate and advising me between various options, they were quick and efficient about obtaining the permit for me, and I was surprised at how quickly the fence went up! Ruben was also extremely patient and flexible when I changed my mind a couple times throughout the process, and his entire crew had an "anything is possible" attitude. They also helped me move and re-plant some small plants that were in the way of the new fencing, and one of the guys even jumped in to help with a temp patch for my tire when I came home with a huge screw in the tire - totally unrelated to his work and VERY much appreciated as it kept my tire full until I could get help. Great experience from start to finish. Jerry came out a couple times to discuss the project and to ensure that the end result would be what we expected. The upfront time discussing it was well worth the effort as the fence is perfect. One real benefit that I didn't realize until after the install was that Red Cedar Fence builds the fence on-site, as opposed to bringing in pre-fab panels. This meant that they were able to adapt to things found in the ground (like a giant sewer pipe) and better follow the grading of the property. Got a better price from Red Cedar Fence than 2 other companies and Jerry suggested options to meet my tight timeline. In the end, I have a beautiful, safe fence! read more

We needed a backyard fence installed to contain our recent rescue dog adoptee. Called three different fence companies, and Red Cedar gave the lowest estimate. That, plus the excellent reviews on Yelp led us to sign a contract with them. 6 weeks later, they installed a beautiful 4' dog ear picket style fence (to match our neighbor's) in one day! They somehow managed to "thread the needle" of multiple buried utility cables in our easement along the back property line, and had to remove a few tree branches that were in the way. We had expected them to have to jog inward with the fence to avoid the clump of trees. Looks so much better this way! We had three gates installed, including one that is extra wide for the landscapers' stand-up mowers. They did have to come back (the same week) to tweak a few things, and convert a fixed fence segment to a removable one (held in with four slide bolts), as it was too close to the front of a ComEd utility box. This will allow the ComEd technicians to move the whole fence segment out of the way, in order to open the hinged box lid and do their work. Ruben and his crew did nice work and cleaned up everything, including the branches they took down. Highly recommended!l read more
