Originally I had planned to just have the gate on our fence replaced. It was in pretty bad shape and needed to be replaced when we moved in; it was hard to move and didn't have a proper lock. But when I looked more closely at the fence in its entirety, I noticed it looked pretty poorly done all around. I assumed the prior owners had done it or paid for a cheap fix because it was clearly not done by someone who builds fences for a living. I contacted Eric to come give me a quote on the whole thing. He came by the house pretty quickly, within a day or so, and provided an estimate within the day. I was pretty impressed that he was able to schedule his crew to do the work within 4 business days. They took care of all the permitting and everything, and though I could have done some of that myself it was worth letting them use their expertise rather than me saving a little money to take longer and get frustrated doing it. The fence looks really great, though there's a board or two that has a bit of splintering. The gate is in a completely different league from what was there before. It's properly constructed, well placed, secure, and makes me feel much more comfortable. And I can place a padlock, providing a bit more privacy and protection. They also fenced in a small section that I had some power lines/pole exposed and was a concern for having kids play in the yard. I'm very glad that we went with Pro-Built Fence. Professional, fast, timely, and very skilled at the work they do. I'd highly recommend them. If you're looking for new fencing contact them early so they can get you on their schedule! read more

Called a week ago for a quote and left a message. No one ever called back. So I called today for a quote to compare to What others have provided. He said he didn't have the manpower to repair a gate. Totally fine. I started to inquire for a quote to replace the entire fence letting him know I wasn't sure if it wasn't something I wanted to do. He said I "needed to figure out what I wanted to do first". Uhm, I kinda need a quote to know what I want to do. Right? I've hired other contractors before that are more professional. Surprised I couldn't even get a quote. Maybe he's having a bad day or week but to me that says something. read more

Eric and the team at Probuilt Fencing did an outstanding job! I wanted a fence that matched my neighbor's, and Eric went above and beyond -- even digging through multiple suppliers to find the exact match. The installation was flawless. He took care of the permit process and even removed a whole ton of bushes on the spot to keep within the property line. I can't recommend their professionalism and craftsmanship highly enough! read more

I love my new vinyl fence recently installed by Eric and team--received many compliments! From the estimate to the installation, Eric was pleasant, easy to work with and even gave me a few ideas on how to change the existing fence. His price was fair, he arrived on time, worked really hard to get the job done professionally and in a timely manner and they cleaned up nicely too! I did get other bids--am very happy with my decision and would recommend Pro-Built. read more

Pro-Built Fence - Fences & Gates Near Me

Eric was a no show. Was disappointed because I saw the good reviews. He made it seem like he has tons of business so he didn't need ours.

From start to finish it was a perfect experience using Pro-Built Fence. We recently moved into a new home in Park Ridge and Eric was out quickly to give me an estimate, provided recommendations on different ways of going about it and was super helpful throughout the entire process. It's a well built fence and looks great too, highly recommend Pro-Built. read more

I cannot praise the work Eric and his team did for my job enough. First, I requested quotes from four different companies in the area, and Pro-Built's bid came in several hundreds of dollars below the competitors and was therefore accepted by my insurance company. Next, once I told them I wanted to contract them, Eric said they'd be out as soon as the weather warmed up. On the first 40 degree day or the year, I was working from home all day long. That evening, I went outside and I suddenly had a new fence! I did not hear anything whatsoever--I'd had no idea they were even there. Plus, they cleaned up the massive debris strewn about my yard following damage from a wind storm. Highly recommend in all aspects. read more

Eric was extremely rude and unprofessional when we inquired about a project. Never met such an unkind contractor. Would stay away if at all possible. read more

Eric and his team were a breeze to work with and did a fantastic job with our new fence. He made sure that the look would be perfect instead of just doing the bare minimum and doing what I had initially asked for because he felt it wouldn't look as good as I was imagining - he was definitely correct. They did a wonderful job installing quickly and neatly! Our neighbors have already reached out and thanked us for getting such a nice looking new fence. read more

I echo other reviewers here in that I too had rude interactions with Pro-Built Fence in Niles area, including appointment cancellations and little desire to communicate unless I promised out front a sizeable contract under their terms and timeline. read more

i only needed one side of my yard fenced for the dog, since the other 3 sides had fences previously installed by neighbors. Called Eric and he was out to inspect within a day. I relied on him to guide me in the type of fence and he suggested the least expensive for what I needed and suggested an additional gate on the other side of the house needed about 6 feet of closure. Provided a quote the same day he inspected and his crew came out within the week to install. They did a beautiful job and I couldn't be happier. Highly recommend. read more

Had two appointments. He missed them both. No calls, just excuses.

Eric was so easy and accommodating to work with! The fence is beautiful and they got it up so fast! They had to remove part of a metal fence to make it flush with the new fence and it looks perfect! Thank you! read more

I don't know what these other reviewers are talking about this Eric guy. "Prompt in returning calls...communication was good...responsive and reasonable..." in my experience these are all false! Eric did not return my phone calls and finally after a couple days I gave it one more try and called and left a message...and this time I got a return call. We agreed on a date and time for him to come for a quote/estimate for a fencing project around my house. So far ok. On the day of the appointment he never showed up on the time agreed on and didn't even give me a call to let me know what's going on. I waited 20min for him before I called and left a message....waited another 10 minutes before giving another call and this time he answers. He begins to tell me that he's backed up because of all the rain we got. That's all ok if he at least had given me a call to give me a heads up. It's the professional thing to do. It's the least he could have done. After awhile he said he'll come at 2pm on the same day...his voice didn't sound like he wanted to. So I waited til 2pm...no show! I waited another 20minutes....NO SHOW! NO CALL whatsoever! If this is how he treats me at this point....I could only imagine how hard it is to deal with this guy when he already has the work. Thanks but no thanks Eric! You wasted my day! read more

Eight years ago we had Pro Built build our fence - we did both a metal fence around our pool and a cedar fence around the perimeter. This year we decided to add some additional fencing and since we were so pleased with Pro Built the first time around we called them. Eric was prompt in his response to our calls and emails. He gave us an extremely fair price and the work was done within the week. He and his crew came when they promised and left our yard in great shape. Pro Built would be my FIRST call if I needed any fencing. read more
