So perfect, you can't see a seam? Five stars is not enough! A friend referred me to this local countertop shop. I had lived with new marble top installed by previous homeowner in my kitchen since I moved in 8 years ago. But.. the pattern was very busy, never had a nice sheen, and when I placed a clear drinking glass on it, you easily missed it? (You can't miss it in one of the pictures below.) First visit was to their Batavia facility to take home samples and discuss approximate costs with a very knowledgeable and personable staff. Second visit was to my home to measure. Third was at their site with templates of my layout on the actual slab so I could see the grain and seam alignment as it would appear in finished countertop. This was fantastic because as much as I loved the pattern I had selected, I did not like the way it would appear completed. With NO pressure at all, I was encouraged to choose from similar patterns on their many other slabs of quartz so I could get the look I wanted. Templates were placed on another choice and the veins looked like they would match close at the seam. Three professionals arrived promptly at 8am and departed at 11am (perfectly as promised) and the finished job was more than I ever imagined. I had to really search for the seam but could only feel it as it is perfect... can you find it in the picture? (HINT: blue post-its align on seam in second image.) read more

Family reunion n business with competitive pricing and outstanding service. They have an added step that no other countertop supplier offered. After your order is placed they invite you to come see your exact slab before cutting. As part of their measurement process they build a wood outline of your future countertop. When you go see your slab they have the wooden frame there so you can move it around on your slab. This allows you to get the veining as you want and avoid loosing a key feature to where the sink holes will be. Our layout required a seam and we were able to use the frame of the smaller piece to identify a part of the slab that closely mirrored the larger piece. I put a chip in our porcelain kitchen sink a month ago and thought it might be able to be repaired....but given its age and location of the chip, a repair wasn't a option. The sink and countertops were 23 years old so it was time for a upgrade. We went to the normal box stores to get ideas and pricing, didn't feel comfortable at those since we didn't know "who" was going to do the installation and what experience they had. We went to Windmill Countertops and glad we did. I could really ramble on how pleased we were with everybody and everything but I'll make this short and sweet. Ernie was fantastic! Nice, knowledgeable man and kept us informed at every step. Donna, she's great! A couple times we went to the store for samples and questions and she always made time for us and made us feel welcome. Mark was great as well, answered all my plumbing questions! A week before the installation, Caesar came out for a final measurement of everything. Very polite, thorough man and you can tell he takes pride in what he does. 3 employees did the installation, not "sub-contractors" but employees of Windmill Countertops. They too took pride in their work, polite and good workmanship. Everything fits perfect and looks great! Our black pearl granite was installed Jan 2021 and there have been no issues after the first year. They installed a premium commercial grade under mount stainless steel sink and we're glad the did, nice thick gauge steel feels really solid. (The other countertop companies we talked to only offered a flimsy thin walled SS sink which felt cheap compared to this one.) Good communication with everyone here: they emailed PDF files to me right away with clear description of the work, schedule, and costs all spelled out. They worked with me and advised on how to properly support the countertop overhang. After the countertop install I did the backsplash, trim, electrical, and plumbing myself. We love our new vanity we purchased and had custom cut for our bathroom remodel. The "Thunderbolt "quartz is absolutely beautiful. I can't emphasize this enough people..! Big box stores have a place if you are working on a DIY project. Go ahead and buy your wire nuts, pvc pipe and lumber there but when it comes to speciality items like counter tops and flooring please go visit a local professional. These materials can be very expensive and the quality is not always visible to the un-trained eye. Windmill is always going to run a little higher but trust me the couple extra dollars are well worth the guarantee your project will turn out the way you want it. read more

The only thing they could improve on is email replies - I sent them two emails and never heard back. I've had other building contractor places not reply to emails too, so it's nothing new. We went to Windmill countertops because of the reviews posted here on Yelp. Our house is on the market and we had outdated counter tops in the master bath. We made our way to Windmill to get an estimate and ended up buying some quartz countertops that Donna, the sales person, suggested. Donna was so nice and got us all set up with two new sinks as well. They also set us up with a plumber to come and hook up the new faucets too. The counter guys came when they said they would, were very professional and cleaned up after themselves. Vince Giuliano, the plumber, also showed up when he said he would, hooked up everything and cleaned up after himself as well. All this took place within 10 days which was so appreciated. If you need countertops - run, don't walk to Windmill Countertops in Batavia. We were in the process of selling our home, but our countertops were the original laminate. All feedback obviously was about the kitchen, but we didn't want to invest a ton of money into a house we're selling. We were referred to Windmill, and I'm so glad we went there! I explained our situation and Donna steered us toward the options that would satisfy our needs and stay within a smaller budget. In contrast to other posts here, my vanity top was/is cut so out-of-square that it could not be installed. Unfortunately, the contractors put down the adhesive, anticipating that a 'professionally manufactured' top would posses square corners, and then tried to align the Windmill counter. No luck, so they then pulled the top and put it back in the Mercedes for my return. Of course, in the process, I ended up with caulk embedded in the carpeting of the Benz. Trust me, removing adhesive caulk from car carpeting is impossible. So, now, I'll be returning this poorly cut top, and purchase a top from a big box store (the Very Last thing I wish to do) and then Google 'how to remove adhesive caulk from carpeting.' There were, sadly, additional problems. One exposed edge was ruff cut & unsanded/polished. Also, there were spots on the top which required Windmill to professionally remove before pickup. My order was small, so, perhaps Windmill Countertops doesn't bother with quality control for small orders? I would not recommend Windmill Countertops to anyone. read more

We recently did major upgrades to our kitchen and bathrooms. We worked withy Windmill Countertops in Batavia for all of the granite. They did a superb job in all respects, from helping with selections of the granites we got, and even went out and found some from another place and picked it up and did all of the work on it. Their pricing was very good, and the workmanship and cuts were spot on. We had several edges, and all were done to perfection, and, were all on the right pieces! My wife can be very particular, and the owner worked very patiently with her to find and get what she wanted (and now loves). The guy that came out to do the measurements and to work with the installers was excellent, as everything fit perfectly. My husband and I went there in person after calling for a granite quote for our kitchen. I was told to bring in the measurements since they had no one to come out to our home for the estimate (we live 5 minutes away). We spent nearly an hour there looking at there limited supply of granite, they had more quartz sampled in stock. I was told the woman helping me couldn't give me a estimate but "Donna" would email me within 1-2 business days. A week later and still not estimate. I did not follow-up bc we went to another granite company and signed the contract the next day. Despite me telling the office woman we wanted to move forward in the next 2 days, it went on deaf ears.
