okay, I'll update here since they finally installed the small granite piece for my stove backsplash and accommodated my request for first thing in the am. The 3 guys who arrived called ahead 20 min, and were super careful to measure thrice and keep measuring and using a level as the piece dried. I felt very confident watching their concern to get the piece on the backsplash in an attractive and straight manner. They could not have been more professional. I'll say it once and say it again: when you deal with the salespeople at The Granite Corporation (that's their real name not "Granite") you kind of doubt that they have a clue about what they're selling. I don't know what will happen and it takes too long for them to finish up a sale, even though they mean well. However, when the measure & install team shows up, those are the people who really know what they're doing. They are top pros. I asked Sam, my sales person, how are they going to make sure the glue holds on a vertical application, and she did not know. I asked her if I should cover my stove, and she said, don't worry (of course, I did). When they showed up, they scored the back of both my backsplash and the new piece, so more glue would be applied. They applied glue all around the perimeter (not visable). They taped the piece in place and I put a spongy rug on my stove (just in case). They said, glue sets in 10 minutes and they held it that long, and it is good to go in a couple hours when I can take off tape. I would have liked to know that there would be a little granite dust in my kitchen ahead of time, to have removed everything from countertops, but they did hold up a vacuum while they scored my backsplash, so I cannot say that I see any dust (besides my own). They scored the new piece outside my house. The treasure here is the cutting, measuring & install team. They are premium craftsmen, very experienced and know how to communicate with the public. They're the ones who should be selling the granite! read more

We moved into our new house last summer. It's a 1978 quad-level and has had one previous owner. The owners had maintained this house exceptionally well and we actually love a lot of the original fixtures, etc. The kitchen is HUGE and a little too 80s-90s for us. We're still in the process of making changes, but the new countertops from GRANITE CORP were a huge step toward our final vision. Pairing honey oak cabinets with the grays and blues I love has been a challenge. Wall paint and backsplash still to come. Granite Corp was amazingly helpful - found just the right quartz countertop for us and an affordable composite sink. Best price by over $2000 (we did get in on a holiday special). I can't recommend Granite Corp enough. From having been greeted at their door, shopping their showroom, and having the ability to see actual slabs in their warehouse, this was the easiest and most comfortable shopping experience for countertops. Jorge was over the top in customer service and I'd recommend seeking him out if possible. Their granite was exceptional and at a fair price for what you get. My husband and I are selling the house soon and we needed to replace our counters. This was the first place we went. It's a slow process for us because they had to build up the higher countertop level. There was a problem with one of the seams. It was just in a tiny corner that probably no one would ever notice. The rest looked absolutely perfect. I knew they'd make it what we wanted though. Gabe came out and addressed our concerns with that tiny area. We still have one last step of the backsplash going in behind the sink, but I feel I could confidently give them a 5 star rating. They want their customers to be completely satisfied with the job. Problems come up often in this type of work and Dave the owner, and Gabe took care of our issues and repaired it himself. He made it look like it should've looked. It's not done yet, it will be on Wednesday but we are very pleased. I'll post a before and after. I'm sure we will get our money back when selling. It looks way better. Installed in Feb 2018 Great service and good product; found three beautiful level 3 pieces for reasonable prices. Martha was wonderful to work with and helped us even after our original piece we chose for master bath counter top was damaged from a contracted company hitting it with snow plow(a fluke accident). Install guys were kind and courteous. The only Minor negatives, Master Bath: a small area was missing caulk and one of the guys left a mess behind. Awesome. We went to 4 different places to price and discuss our new granite kitchen countertops, and they were by far the most professional and knowledgeable. They were on time for the measurement appointment. They noticed that the wall was not perfectly straight, and since I was doing a tile backsplash, they wanted to be sure of a tight fit. They made a template of the wall to cut the tops from, and on installation day everything fit perfectly. I am very particular about the way things look, and am very pleased with the outcome of my kitchen. The installers were professional, pleasant and skilled. They worked very efficiently as a team, and you can tell, they have been doing this for quite some time. I have one seam and it looks very good, nice and tight and filled to match. They cleaned up after themselves leaving only beautiful countertops. They were also the only company that did not ask for full payment before install. Even one of the other large companies that has very good reviews wanted final payment before completion. For us, that was a red flag with all the other companies we went to. Beware! Utimate Sharks here. I walk in and a hispanic guy asks, how much do you want to pay. You throw a number he throws a higher number etc. Basically, its a feeler strategy to identify your comfort point. Problem is if you are like me not knowing what thinks should cost it can cost you dearly. The problem I have with this approach is that rather than proving an estimate based on sq footage, service performed etc. they are looking to make a bigger bang. with this approach praying on first time buyers. I made the mistake of not getting enough quotes before agreeing on a price, but at the end I would have paid over 1500 more for the same granite elsewhere. If you are in the naperville, oswego, batavia, plainfield area: after much research here are my rankings for getting the best value. 1. Granite & Marble Depot Inc: best in price and straight forward service.Selection is good I ended up going with this company but #2 below was a close second. 2. Midwest Stone Sales: competitive pricing and straight forward service. Their service contract is a bit too much in my opinion asks you to assume too much liability if and when things go wrong. Selection is good with some unique ones I liked. 3.Heatland Granite: overall nice but the most expensive for the same granites I saw elsewhere. My guess is that you get what you pay for prob good place. Marble and Granite City another place, they never answer their phone, so I would avoid. read more

Couldn't be happier! Granite Corp exceeded all of our expectations. My husband and I were looking for a specific quartz, which we found at Granite Corp for a very reasonable price. Martha and Taylor walked us through the whole process and took time answering any questions we had. We also had a new (much bigger) farmhouse sink to install. Martha coordinated with someone to install the sink the same day our countertops were being torn out, so that we could use our kitchen as long as possible. After the measurements were taken, I changed my mind on things several times and both Martha and Taylor were very patient with me. Martha even coordinated to have a plumber come out the same day the countertops were installed to install a new sink faucet. Also, because we had a bigger sink installed, our cabinet doors below the sink had to be replaced. I wanted the doors to match the other doors exactly. Martha found someone who could match them and do the job quickly. The countertops look amazing! We've had them for a couple of months now and love them just as much as when they were put in. We had originally ordered granite from Home Depot, but wanted to check out Granite Corp. Jorge is wonderful, he found us a better deal and showed up the workshop and convinced us to cancel our contract with Home Depot and switch to them. One of the first issues we had was the measuring date, we scheduled and on that date no one showed up, it somehow got switched with the next day. The other issue is that the countertops aren't cut with quite the precision I had thought they would be. One counter is about a 1/4-1/2 an inch shorter so it doesn't reach the seam of the wall/doorway. That wouldn't be a big deal but since the countertop on the other side of the doorway lines up makes it look off. Lastly, The sink isn't cut as well as it should be. We reached out to a handyman who agrees that the granite doesn't line up as well as it should along the sink. read more
