Slightly more affordable, 1000% more honest, and friendly. I worked with Tom and don't rember names of people who did the work but everything was great. If you want an extra box of flooring make sure you ask for it before they deliver the wood/laminate/vinyl for your project or you may need to pay shipling for it.

When our puppy did too many accidents in our upstairs area, we replaced the hallway and master bedroom with Kardean Luxury Vinyl Tile. At the time, Exploring Flooring did not glue down LVT and only had the lock down type, so we used another company. We love the livability and washability of Luxury Vinyl Tile. Our friend who installs these floors commercially recommended the Kardean brand and to do the glue down version. He was spot on. Recently, I had a measuring done to either refinish our downstairs cherrywood floors or cover them with Kardean vinyl. Tom came out right away but got confused as to my email address. I think they need a company email address, because we played a bit of email tag trying to communicate. Some things that I wonder about. The other company that came out was willing to fix up some not so great areas with new cherrywood trim--ie around half bath vanity that has bare gap areas at bottom and fp that has a very large gap around it (EF said for me to use some type of expandable filler but I think that will be ugly in a inch or more gap). EF also said they don't install new quarter round trim around floor which is a nice touch another place does as standard. You could always hire it out, I suppose. The cherrywood trim pieces is more of an issue for me. Exploring Flooring's quote for refinishing our cherrywood is around $900 less than the other place, so I guess it equals out. The other place wanted $5400 for about a 530 square foot area, so I thought that was a bit pricey. Exploring Flooring is $4500. As far as luxury vinyl quote to glue down Kardan on top of the hardwood, I'm still waiting, but the quote to float Kardean tile on top of the existing floor (an option, but not my fav) is the same as the other company. However, no particular type of Kardean is mentioned, even though I requested the quote on Tergo. All in all, a bit of a hassle to get specifics, but may be a great option overall, if overall pricing is better.

In the closets, they were sloppy with the corners and didn't put as much care as the more visible parts of the house - it's true that people aren't studying the corners of closets, but we didn't love that. To me, and true 5 star business would do their best to deliver 100%.

Larry and Kyle are very professional and friendly, knowledgeable and fair. After reading reviews, I sent a request for information late one evening, and Larry answered within an hour. We set up and appointment for Larry and his son Kyle to give me an in-home estimate on replacing about 500 square feet of old carpeting in two bedrooms and their walk-in closets. Kyle walked me through various fiber and style choices and even helped me pick the color. Larry measured the rooms and gave me a quote for installation, moving furniture, and the removal of the old carpeting. The price was very reasonable, so Kyle prepared a contract for me, he checked with the manufacturer for stock status, and we picked a date for the installation. Since I live in a condo, I needed a Certificate of Insurance to present to the building management company so the work could be approved. Larry sent me one without delay. The installation itself was so smooth. The team, Pedro Jr. and Luis, arrived right on time, moved furniture with great care, took up the old carpeting and padding, and put down the new. The master bedroom is large enough to require seams in the carpeting, and they did a great job. When they were finished, they vacuumed thoroughly and even cleaned the building's common areas like the hallway and lobby to make sure there was no trace of carpet and padding crumbs. They were kind enough when replacing the furniture to allow me to measure carefully and they repositioned the furniture to my exact specifications. I'd been thinking about getting new carpeting for a couple of years now, and it was reading the fabulous reviews for Larry and Kyle and American Carpet that gave me the confidence to go ahead and do it. This meant a demo of wood, demo of tile, new carpentry, new tile, reinstall of a fixture, additional pipe, and new baseboards. We decided (without any pressure for add-ons) to extend the work to the whole bathroom floor instead of just the localized area. So our results feel like not just a repair, but a remodel. Things that stood out: Communication - We felt the main point of contact, Anthony, was clear and helpful through the whole process. This is true of every crew member we interactacted with as well. Questions were answered patiently, things were explained clearly, we new what to expect next, there were no overpromises. Everyone that came into our home was respectful. Our input was sought at appropriate times, and we were shown progress consistently. Execution - Everyone seemed competent and capable of the tasks at hand. The results look good, feel good, and inspire confidence. If there was a mess made, it was promptly cleaned up. If there was a concern, it was handled appropriately. Initially I was a little skeptical of the proposed timeline but after seeing the work in action it made sense and was accurate.
