In my experience, on any given project, Hogan was (appropriately) neither the cheapest, nor the most expensive contractor on any of my projects. And within that acceptable middle range that most people (including me) probably gravitate toward, they have been the most honest, customer-service-oriented contractor I have ever worked with. HDC stands behind their work, they show up on time, and if there is a delay or a problem...the most important thing to me has been...they PROACTIVELY communicate. In any business, issues will arise. Our team at Spidr Design partnered with Hogan Design and Construction for a commercial buildout that created our new headquarters in downtown Aurora. We have now been in the space for a full year, and it has already helped our team grow again in the community where our company first began. The completed office includes a reception and gathering area, individual offices, open workspaces, a break room, and a conference room that overlooks the river and downtown. The historic Post Office building provides a beautiful backdrop to the space. Hogan Design and Construction guided the entire project with clarity and strong organization. Great company leadership with excellent project management skills. Over the last 15 years we have contracted with Hogan Design and Construction for a basement, bathroom, master bathroom, hard wood flooring, and probably a half dozen other projects. We have always been happy with the outcome. When a field adjustment and a decision or change to the plans was necessary, they were always patient and took the time to present the issue and the possible solutions. Projects were managed in a way that every day I knew what was happening and who would be on the site. I was so pleased with the process of working with the leadership team at Hogan that I always recommend their services to family and friends. Over the years, they have done projects like finishing a basement at my brother's house, to a complete remodel of an 1890's house in downtown Geneva for my mother. We had engaged Hogan Design & Construction for several minor projects around the exterior of our home. In addition to being very responsive to our requests, the work has always been done well, has been very fairly priced, and was completed on schedule. This company has become our "Go To" provider of of household repairs and improvements, and we would most certainly rely on them when it comes time for major projects. On a scale of 1 to 5 stars, we would rate them at least a 6! Well, the first major project came in the form of a total kitchen remodel, and is essentially concluded. Not ever having previously embarked on such a major project, we did not know quite what to expect, but Brad and Johnny did a great job of preparing us for the disruption the project would create. That made things much easier. Not to mention that it was quite interesting to experience first-hand the progress of design, demolition, "gutting," reconstruction, and installation of new flooring, cabinets, fixtures, and appliances. The workspace was cleaned daily to minimize the impact to our other living spaces. The outcome is amazing, surpassing anything I could have envisioned. We contacted Hogan after seeing their name pop on several Facebook recommendation posts. We liked the idea of having a one stop shop for all our design and contracting needs. We were interested in adding on an in-law addition and were very overwhelmed on where to start. After contacting them through their website, we had connected within a few days and set an appointment up about a week and a half out. Before the visit, they requested us to fill out a questionnaire so they had a good idea of what we were visualizing, our budget, and things we valued. Brad showed up on time for our appointment and listened respectfully to our thoughts. He was friendly, informative, and helped educate us on his reasonings/suggestions. As a couple who has never done something like this before, we really respected his advice and time. First I would like to say that Hogan is by far the most professional construction companies that you will ever find. They have systems and processes in place from scheduling to communication with the client. You would be hard pressed to find these standards in the building industry. They have standards of excellence in their work and offer a one year guarantee. After one year THEY will contact you to see if there is anything they can do to come back and fix. And they will actually come back and fix it! They performed a commercial renovation for us, and there was a significantly large issue that came up where a sub had made a mistake. They came and met with us and discussed the options. At the end of the day, because their sub made the error, they fixed it at no cost to us, no questions asked. Another HUGE difference you will find in this industry. Integrity! Lastly, you will see there estimates are higher than most. But you get what you pay for. You are paying for a premium service, high-quality construction, piece of mind and integrity in business. After 15 years, I decided to remodel my kitchen and part of my dining room. I hired Hogan Design. We used Hogan to remodel the kitchen at work and I am beyond impressed with everything from start to finish. The project managers as well as other Hogan employees involved with this project were extremely communicative, professional, detail-oriented and incredibly helpful. Throughout the duration of the project (~6 weeks) there was general communication every day regarding the project and any changes that may have arisen throughout the project. Hogan took away any headache that I would typically associate with remodeling including coordinating and communicating with all vendors (i.e. vendors for appliances, cabinetry, etc.). For anything that has to do with our home, Hogan Design and Construction is and has been number one on our contact list for a number years. They have done a number of small and medium sized projects for us as well as a more major one ( tearing out our upstairs and master bedroom carpeting and replacing with hardwood flooring throughout). Brad, his HDC crew, and several of the subs are like family and always a pleasure to have in our home. Plus, HDC is always there when we need them. On referral , HDC has done some high quality work for our neighbors and our family members as well. Brad will be the first to tell you HDC is not the cheapest contractor around. I've been a homeowner of multiple homes for almost 30 years this is by far the best company that I have ever done business with. In 2003 they made my family a 3-bedroom 1 bathroom apartment out of a plain basement in our house for my Grandfather. The crew got all the permits ordered all the material and started right away. The apartment was framed and had power in just a few days. The drywall went up paint/cabinets/plumbing/appliances/lighting all seamless. From start to finish the entire team was A+. We still own that property now as a rental. After I moved, they did a kitchen remodel and a bathroom remodel for us. We worked with Bryan when planning and budgeting, Brad and Cara when we made our design selections and Johnny for the day to day construction. When looking for the right construction company to complete our first floor remodel, it was very important for us to choose someone who was meticulous, communicative, honest, organized, and professional. We have three small children, and it was necessary that we chose someone who maintained a schedule, stayed on track, and kept a clean workspace, as we were living at home through the majority of the project.
