We had a small bathroom remodel many carpenters wouldn't even consider, but with Mario we felt like we were KB&B's only client.

The showroom offered an array of setups and samples to choose from, and we had a shorter turnaround on the completion and delivery of our top than anticipated. Things started heading south once we opened up the top and prepped it for install. Despite allowing the top to lay flat for a week to settle, it showed a significant bow on the underside of the middle of the top, a very noticeable warp that could be seen in the backsplash and along the front edge of the counter. We had it installed to see if allowing it to settle further would help, but nothing changed. We then spent several weeks going back and forth with Sterling (and their parent company Americraft) who insisted that the issue must be with the cabinet (which was level) or the wall (which was square). They agreed to make it right with a new top, but initially refused to help cover the install fee which originally cost us $800. Once we agreed they wouldn't have considered replacement without knowing we tried to install it in the first place, they said they would send someone out to install as well. Sterling outsources the manufacture of their tops to Carstin Kitchen & Bath in Arthur, IL and they clearly have an issue with their molds. Even the Americraft installers were taken aback by the noticeable bow in our original top and noticed a minor bowing in the second replacement top. In the end, we got a top that sits level and looks nice in our bathroom, but it was an unnecessarily exhaustive process to get there. I wouldn't recommend working with Sterling unless they commit to working with a different manufacturer.

I was looking for a unique home office installation that could function as a workspace while also housing my library of music, photo albums, and books. I also had some specific wish list items such as a "hiding" bourbon nook. While the functionality of the piece was crucial, I would dare to say the aesthetic was even more important to me. My hope was that the space would be so inviting and inspiring that even after I'd hang up ye ole' work hat, that I'd still want to linger in the room to unwind with a good book, some good tunes (and maybe a tumbler of good bourbon too...). I've dropped in some photos of the finished product as well as my original crappy doodle of what I was looking for and will try to upload a few photos once I get everything settled. Graham and his small but mighty team were amazing to work with from start to finish. Graham was highly collaborative and offered phenomenal suggestions. My favorite was his suggestion to situate the bookshelves above the desk at an angle. This provided more of an ample workspace and also added to the artistic flare of the piece. I plan on hanging up a canvas print in between the bookshelves, so the orientation of the shelves will also guide the eye to the print. Because Willson Woodworking is pretty much a one person show, it took a few months from when I gave the green light to when the finished product was installed. However, Graham and team were upfront from the beginning about how many projects were queued up prior to mine. It is beyond worth it to have a one-of-a-kind piece that is of the highest quality rather than something that is mass produced and can be found in every other home. One other note on value: I did reach out to two other contractors about the project before deciding on Willson Woodworking. One was a local handyman, and one was a closet solutions company. All three quotes came in at roughly the same price. I think this speaks volumes about just how reasonable Willson Woodworking was in terms of pricing. This was definitely an investment regardless of which contractor I chose, but there was no comparison between the three in terms of the finished product. Shout out to Kevin, who professionally painted the shelves (regent blue). Like Graham, Kevin was kind enough to stop by my house and talk through thoughts on color choices. Plus, he helped Graham install the finished product! Another shout out to Raychel, who coordinated the administrative components of the project. Full disclosure: I'll be posting this same review on other platforms as I want to be sure to champion this local vendor!

Ofer was patient, knowledgeable, and never pushy -- he took the time to walk us through our options and helped us feel confident in our decisions. We went with Orange Cabinetry, a more budget-friendly brand that Ofer endorsed in terms of quality and customer service. Even though there was a delay in stock (which we were informed about in advance), the team encouraged us to stick with the sage green color we really loved instead of settling for something else just to speed things up. I'm so glad we waited -- the cabinets are beautiful, well-built, and exactly what we wanted. We've gotten a ton of compliments. Planet Cabinets also helped us source Jeffrey Alexander hardware, and their support with sizing and quantities made that process easy. Overall, we felt informed, supported, and never rushed. Highly recommend Planet Cabinets if you're looking for a company that balances affordability with honest, thoughtful service.

Tony did absolutely amazing work on the kitchen and entryway of our home. These areas of the home…read morehadn't been updated since the house was built in 1987 (just look at the before pictures). Tony touched essentially every part of our kitchen and entryway: cabinets, countertops, flooring, painting walls, adding recessed lighting and under cabinet lighting, painting ceiling, relocating utilities, adding an island, painting a bay window and our front door, replacing our exterior back door and two closet doors, and then trim and baseboard for the whole first floor. Tony's attention to detail, affordability, cleanliness, and communication were all exceptional. He went above and beyond and never nickel and dimed us. We paid for him to paint our bay window, and he threw in painting our front door for free since he knew it would look great if it all matched. He also widened the doorway leading into the kitchen free of charge. Tony gave us a fair estimate upfront, was always on time, is an expert in his field, and is a true craftsman that take great pride in his work. There is very little that Tony cannot do. The materials are all of very high quality, and Tony gives great recommendations. The project could not have gone much better, from the planning stage all the way through the finishing touches. Seriously, just call Tony if you are looking to remodel. He came out the same day we called him a few months ago, and we never looked back. We will definitely be using him in the future for our other remodeling plans.

We hired Tony to remodel our kitchen.  His experience, pricing, and timeline were the key factors…read more  We also liked the fact that he's a 'one-stop shop'--the guy who sells to you is the same person who is going to execute the job end-to-end.  Our existing kitchen was previously done about 40 years ago, but the home itself is well over 100 years old.   One of the reasons we hired Tony was that he learned the trades himself working on such old homes, so we knew we would need that experience for our project. Tony and his team carefully stripped out all the existing cabinetry, and then staged it in our garage for Habitat for Humanity to come pick up (which they did...they took everything thanks to the job by Tony's team to keep all the antique cabinetry intact!).  When he stripped out part of our walls, he uncovered the need for additional electrical work to properly prepare the new kitchen, which in turn led to more drywall work.  He was able to promptly get an electrician onto the project.  His team went on to drywall, sand, and paint the kitchen to prepare it for the new cabinetry.   Tony had also designed the kitchen and placed the cabinetry orders in advance, which minimized delay although there were a couple swaps which we negotiated through the project as the bare kitchen revealed the true dimensions.  The Northpoint cabinetry which Tony uses is very high quality...real wood, made in the USA, built to last.  Our kitchen floors and walls were not always level/even, so he used his exceptional craftsman skills to find unique ways to ensure the ceiling, wall, and flooring would not prevent us from having our dream kitchen from floor to ceiling, wall to wall. His team members were excellent at implementing his plan.   While working in our house, we were impressed with Tony to the point where we asked his team to take on a couple other side projects (bathroom, painting) which his team was able to work into the existing timeline at a reasonable cost. Overall, this was a complex project with some unexpected hiccups along the way.   Tony absorbed the cost on some of the 'surprises', and in other cases he charged us for additional work.  I should also add that he fixed some other things in our house without charging us, just because he had all the tools/materials available and could quickly hammer things out.   I can't say enough about Tony's carpentry skills, and his constant drive to make things look as good as they can possibly be.   His craftsmanship is his standout trait, and the passion shows in his work.
