If it were just for the food, I'd give 4 or 5 stars -- the items I've ordered have been quite tasty. The problem is the online ordering menu. It used to have a separate section for sides and extras (which mostly worked), but now those are embedded under the entrees, which works for, say, sauce choice but not for extras. Now, if I want an extra order of rice, I am unlikely to get it, but I'll still get charged. The reason is that on the ticket that is printed for the kitchen, it doesn't say EXTRA, just says "[size] RICE". When picking up in person, it's easy to check the order and get it corrected; you can show that you were charged on the receipt. Doesn't work for delivery. Fix this and get more stars. read more

I was only planning on grabbing a menu after stopping by the liquor store. While looking at the menu, a server/waitress/employee asked if I wanted tea while I waited.... I know from the way she asked she wasn't going to charge me for it(edit: don't come in looking for free tea, the people here are too nice..I'm just mentioning it because of the knee jerk warm feeling from the staff). This instantly made me interested in trying the food here. I haven't seen that kind of courtesy in a restaurant in many many years. I ordered something somewhat non-expensive and light since I wasn't planning on eating here in the first place. I ordered the Asian seafood soup. I was not disappointed. It was light, not fishy(smelling 'edit:or tasting..in the bad way'), and hit the spot. This was my second time here but my first time dining in. The owner Darren encouraged me to dine in and suggested I have the Mango chicken with a side of broccoli. I also ordered hot and sour soup which was delicious. The Mango Chicken has real slices of mango in it which was delicious with the sauce. The waitress Maggie was great too. Our favorite is all white meat orange chicken, chicken fried rice and crispy beef. The orange chicken was juicy, lightly breaded with very tasty sauce. The sauce had a little kick to it! Delicious!!!!! The chicken fried rice was made to perfection, one of the best chicken fried rice we had in a long time. Greeted and seated immediately, friendly staff. Nice decor. Decided on the Garlic chicken and Hunan chicken. Both had chili peppers by the meals so we expected a spicy meal. Service was quick and we were eating in a few minutes. Both dishes were good but not very spicy. A little chili oil made it great. The apple cinnamon dessert was a nice bonus. Found this restaurant while we were roaming outside the Whole Foods. It's a bit hidden in a huge parking lot so we haven't checked it out before even though we've been living in the area for a while now. First of all, the inside decor is very clean and spacious (granted that we only went on a Tuesday's night after a long weekend so there wasn't much customers). Not really high-class or sophisticated but definitely a good atmosphere for a family dinner or big gathering. Why I gave the five-star rating is for the food and service. The ingredients were so fresh and the dishes were very well-seasoned. If you want healthier version of Chinese take-out, this is the place to be! Asian Grille is by far the best Chinese food in our area. The ingredients are all fresh and the chef prepares things with great attention to detail. This is not over-Americanized Chinese. In addition, the owner and his wife are so genuine and friendly. He remembers you, asks about the family and gives you a hug when you leave. Yes, the prices are a little more expensive, but the portions are big and the food is fantastic! There is a lot of very mediocre Chinese food in the area. Not this place. Truly a Northern Virginia hidden gem! We had the pan fried dumplings which were tasty. Then had pork lo mein, which was not too greasy like most are. I would give more than 5 stars if I could. First, the food is great. Whatever you try, it is always consistently good. My favorites are the hot and sour soup, and the vegetable and chicken soup which is so filling (and I think healthy - fingers crossed!). Any of the chef's specials are great too! What really has me coming back is the genuine kindness, friendliness, and generosity of the owners. One story: I ordered carry out during COVID. I was nearby and realized the credit card I had with me wasn't working. I didn't have any cash, and after apologizing and getting ready to leave, the owner gave me my food, and said "it was just money, to enjoy, and to pay back if I wanted, that he trusted me." I was so very touched by this gesture of generosity and trust. Needless to say, my meal was wonderful. I shared it with some coworkers, and they will be ordering from there as well. Asian Grill is a great Chinese Restaurant in West Springfield. One of the best things about this place is the staff. The staff is probably the friendliest staff you will meet at a Chinese restaurant. Mr. Ho and staff always greet you and remember who you are. You really do feel welcome when you go there. I have not dined at Asian Grill in many years. I do solely take-out. My staples are the Kung Pao Chicken and the Beef Lo Mein. When you first take a look at the menu you might feel taken aback by the prices. Some of the prices do feel a little high (It seems hard to justify two pieces of Crabmeat Wanton for $4.50). However for the amount of food that you get in the entrees the price feels about right. The Kung Pao Chicken easily feeds my wife and me for dinner with enough leftover for lunch the next day. We usually crush the Beef Lo Mein. Not only are the portions large, the quality of food is just so much better than other Chinese restaurants. I feel that the quality of meat they use is a much higher grade. At first for us it was hard to justify paying over $20.00 for Chinese food but after going to other restaurants its worth the price. If you are looking for a good Chinese place for take out or dine in, Asian Grill should be your first stop. With the quality of food and great customer service, Asian Grill blows its competition out of the water. My friend and I came here for lunch. I had been here a few years back and wasn't too impressed. Since we were already in the strip mall off Rolling Rd, we decided to give them a try. They do have a separate lunch menu but not really lunch combinations. Everything is ordered separate, not your typical soup/eggroll/main dish for one price. Yes, as others have said, it's a bit 'priced higher' than the normal chinese lunch places. The staff was extremely friendly, check on us often and provided answers to every question we proposed. Those were the 'good'. Once we ordered our appetizers, we literally wait close to almost 20 minutes for an egg roll(fried) and garden rolls to arrive. For a lunch crowd, there was about 5-6 tables occupied so I saw no reason for the egg roll to take that long. Again, staff was very friendly but no egg roll appeared. After the appetizers, the main dishes crept into our line of sight within another 20 minutes. Honestly, if I was pressed for time, this would NOT be the place to be. The food was ok, not worthy enough for me to leave my current fav Chinese locations, of which there are about 3-4 just in Burke/West Springfield. I ordered a beef/broccoli dish called Cha Sa( the name escapes me), and even asked the server if the sauce was Mongolian Beef-like, and YES was the answer. It was no where near, this was more like a beef/broccoli dish with brown gravy, no flavor, just lots of broccoli. My friend ordered a shrimp pad thai that unfortunately did not resemble the typical Pad Thai but my friend was gracious and ate it. Would I come here again, probably not. Don't get me wrong, the food is pretty Americanized but they did a damn good job at it. The dishes we ordered were on point in flavor, texture, whatever, you name it. Chicken is tender.. filet flounder is awesome.. and yeah. I mean, I usually never finish my food and bowl of rice at a Chinese restaurant but here I totally devoured everything. I thought it was nice that the manager went around to all the tables and would make jokes with a lot of people who I'm assuming were some regulars. Very friendly and expect him to crack a few jokes and then hear his distinct laughter afterwards. The most interesting thing I found about this place was that not only do they give you a fortune cookie at the end of your meal, but an apple pie with a twist. It's an apple pie in a wonton wrapper.
