The food has so much flavor! The price of the buffet for carry out is very reasonable. I drive 9 miles vs 2 miles from home because I like this place so well. Even at 2:30-3pm the food was fresh and the meat is never dry! So good! read more

It's not always available but when they have it, it's worth trying. Lunch prices are about $9.50 and dinner is around $12.50. Sorry, no idea about weekend prices... Whatever you do, just remember that a good buffet experience = timing so go during lunch or dinner when the food is coming out hot and fresh. Amazing. Have been wanting a buffet since moving here and Asian Buffet had it all! Big fan of fried rice and chicken and the rice was great, multiple kinds of chicken. General Tsao, Honey, Smoked, etc. They had noodles, chicken, veggies, egg rolls, fries, pizza, desserts, it was truly the best buffet spread. Our server was so nice and always coming around to clear plates/the table. The restaurant was big, we went at 6pm and the food was fresh and constantly brought out. For 4:30 on a Tuesday it was pretty busy. Waitresses were nice and quick with drinks; it's fine if you want a quick eat and you're hungry, but overall would not recommend. Everything was less then room temperature (even the stuff that came out didn't feel piping hot) and tastes unmemorable. Fine to get full, but nothing seemed like food I'd want to come back for. It is reasonably priced (~$14 for dinner) and matches the quality of most buffets in the Columbus area, but I wouldn't say it tastes good. I recently visited Asian Buffet, as I am trying to find a new place to frequent. I think that I may have found it. When you walk in, the restaurant has a very classic American-Chinese restaurant feel. They have 4 regular and 1 long buffet lines, each offering a multitude of your American-Chinese favorites as well as some comfort foods. I tried a bunch of their choices and have to say their General Tso may be the best that I have had in the city. The servers were very attentive and made sure I had everything that I needed. Found a decent Asian buffet. Came here on a Sunday noon and we got there just before the crowd. Walking into the restaurant you come across a tiny bridge that has fishes and greeted by a large Buddha statue. I always rub the belly for good luck. Got seated right away. Good selections and varieties. Chow Mein, both fried and white rice, honey chicken, GREEN BEANS, fried calamari, octopus salad, general tso chicken, mushrooms was on my plate and my favorites and dessert i got chocolate ice cream and crushed Oreo cookies in it, banana pudding, macaroon (coconut not the french) apple turnovers and vanilla roll cake. W Broad and Galloway Rd. We have moved to the west side and there is such a variety of places to eat close by. We went out at four today to find something, we weren't picky. Just a little hungry. Pulled into the Asian Buffet thinking we would get takeout but decided to sit down and eat when we saw the huge offering of different foods. The place was busy. Waitress asked what we wanted to drink and we both ordered water since there was no clue as to what they had to quench our thirst. Several buffet tables. Turkey, prime rib, chicken wings, green beans, sushi, Asian dishes too of course. Dessert table along the back wall. Sign that said don't lick the ice cream scoop. That was encouraging. I only got one plate. Shrimp and chicken on a skewer. Green beans were awesome. Mostly the food seemed dry. The cookie was good. Our waitress was right on top of things. She deserved the tip. Pretty typical Chinese buffet. Ranked with other restaurants, particularly Chinese restaurants, well, meh. But amongst its peers, it's decent. And sometimes you, or anyway I, want to gorge yourself on cheap, fast Chinese food. Good selection of the usual Chinese-American standards, plus a few that I don't see elsewhere: smoked chicken, bacon-wrapped chicken, etc. But mainly all the faves. Their BBQ chicken was actually slightly spicy, a surprise. The General Tso's was generic, as were most of the standards. Veggies were fresh, and the place didn't have the "old seafood" smell. Not much sushi, maybe a few more desserts than other buffets. Service was very good. The place is clean, quiet, and has nice natural light from big windows. The variety of what they had was above average for a Chinese buffet, for their dinner they had a decent prime rib and a turkey which I didn't try, I loved their green beans and pork dumplings. The only reason why I do not recommend is because the staff is very rude. The reason is because they are rushing you to leave. You might be in the middle of eating and the waitress is already bringing the check. Mind you that if you don't leave a tip (which is not required because the only thing they bring you is the soda) they start questioning you why you didn't leave a tip. Worst restaurant I have ever been to. Fish as we walked in were swimming on their backs in dirty stinky water gasping for air. There was hair in the food and when I told the waitress she became angry and called over the manager and he came at me in a very threatening manner. Made me pay for food we couldn't eat and was so rude I had to leave..Will never return and never recommend. All the waitresses were following me and it was intimidating. My friends and I have been searching all over Columbus for a Chinese buffet that doesn't resemble a frozen food section, and we've FINALLY found it at Asian Buffet! The dining room is big, and conducive for families and large parties. Very clean, and the presentation of the buffet is laid out very nice. The food was really good. Like, reaaaaally good. They had quite a few "American" dishes- such as pizza, Mac n' cheese, and mozzarella cheese sticks- which came in handy for my picky eater friend that spotted buffalo chicken wings as soon as we walked through the door. Had all the fan favorites- Lo Mein, dumplings, allllll the fried/grilled/teriyaki morsels of chicken, seafood, and rice dishes. Throw in a nice selection of sushi and desserts... Waitress was very nice and they accommodated a group of 10. So much food it was hard to say what I liked best.

I had my husband bring my family here for my birthday. It was us and our 2 kids, ages 8 months and 2 years. We hadn't been there in years, and never with kids. It was great! The food was hot, fresh, and stocked up. My favorites were the seafood delight, lo mein, crab Rangoon and stuffed mushrooms. My husband really enjoyed the blackened chicken. The service was great, they were very attentive and friendly, the restaurant was clean and my 2 year old loved the well kept fish that they have there. 2 adult buffets for $30 is great with the selection they had. This buffet is typical of other Asian buffets with the same selection of rice, noodles, sweet and sour chicken, watery sweet and sour sauce, same sheets of desserts shipped in frozen, the red gel goo drizzled over bananas, etc. It is pretty much what I expected. There was a fish pond on each side of the entry way which was neat to see. Pros- Very reasonably priced, waitress was friendly and attentive, large selection of hot food. I found a few favorite items on the buffet. Cons- There was no enthusiastic or friendly greeting from the hostess who whisked us to our table. When I asked an employee refilling an item on the buffet about a particular item she looked at me dumbfounded obviously not understanding English then fled like an ostrich while I just stood there......awkward. The peas in the fried rice were oddly hard and chewy. Chairs were taped up and the wood on baseboard near server station looked moldy like it had water damage. This is the dirtiest place I have ever been in. The live fish as you walk in are in stinky dirty water gasping for air. Just another dadgum Chinese Buffet. Columbus ceases to have any Chinese buffets that are remotely good anymore. I've just plain given up hope. Even a lot of wonderful Westside authentic staples have closed their doors, which leaves us to suffer the generic, run of the mill take outs, and the gorge-fest buffet contraptions. Asian Buffet is an A-OK. Is it amazing? No. Is it authentic? Eh.... Authentic in their mind's eye of what they think American's really want to eat at a Chinese buffet. Americanized versions of everything, and the run of the mill Chinese wholesale order-ins. The place is ragged and dingy. It needs a good cleaning and revitalization. I'm sure in it's hay-day it was a really nice place, but it's soon succumbed to what most Chinese Buffets in Ohio succumb to. Just pure cheaping out of the entire experience. Sadly enough, I'd still take this place over Supreme Buffet in Hilliard any day. At least the workers here a little more nicer. This place won't change your life, but If you need a place to stuff your face and wallow in large amounts of processed food. By God, this is your place. read more

The times I've been here it has been a fairly good experience all in all. The staff is polite and the food is decent. Though they have the same issue that far too many Chinese buffets have these days. Instead of a more full variety of actually Asian dishes, they have things like chicken wings, pizza, and mashed potatoes. That isn't anyone's idea of Chinese food, but everyone seems to do it. Well it started off well, the appetizers like the stuffed mushrooms, egg rolls, crab Rangoon and teriyaki chicken skewers were all done right, then the Far East Buffet on the Far West Side went straight to hell. The peanut chicken which I find at other buffets to be grainy and sweet is actually quite dry as is their black pepper chicken. The garlic green beans are standard Chinese buffet fare and the white rice has always been a problem here, instead of being stored in a rice cooker it's kept in a food service tray covered in plastic wrap allowing it to dry out and become crunchy. On this wonderful evening a table right next to us featured a child eating too fast and ended up hurling fried rice all over the floor, the odor adding to the wonderful ambiance. The table attendants politely picking up used plates and refilling sodas promptly, I wish I could understand mandarin as I knew from their body language the attendants were judging everyone as they chattered in small groups or as the kids now say, spilling that tea. It's been a few years since we've been here and from the events and quality of food this evening, it'll be another few years if ever that we'll return. read more
