Like others on here, I did not hire this company to destroy my yard but my neighbors did, unfortunately. I met with owner (Porfirio Rodriguez) he came to the house, confirmed the $500-600 in damage repair. We agreed to about $400 in damage he would pay me for the repairs, "check is in the mail". I find it ironic that he owns the company since he does not take ownership of his crew (family relations) and never paid for the repairs. Thanks for showing your true self. read more

Destroyed my flowers and left trash in my backyard while trimming trees for my neighbor. Pictures show how they threw the cut pieces into my flower bed. Their equipment was left in my backyard including their blower and knives. No one on the crew of 8 people could speak English. My Airbnb neighbor came to apologize to her arriving tenants who were surprised by the mess. And the Airbnb owner also apologized to me for the landscape damage. I was left with the job of cleanup. This family owned business did the best job ever at trimming my double palm, a eucalyptus and a fourth tree yesterday. They care deeply about the health of trees, are very knowledgeable, and got it done when they said they would. In this day and age, when customer service is rare, I was pleasantly surprised to get a text letting me know that Mr. Rodriguez would be here in 45 minutes and another one letting me know he had arrived. Porfirio is amazing. He was the only one who came out and told me the a tree didn't need to be cut down. It was fine the way it was. He was the only one who knew what time of year to cut the pines, how to treat the trees for beetles, and what would happen if we didn't treat or cut them right away (not much) Tree trimmers - all of them - made it sound like trees were acting aggressively and deliberately to inconvenience us. Porfirio reframed it - and showed us the difference between an arborist and a "tree trimmer". Arborists love trees and have the tools to fix them, not just butcher them. Artistic Arborist spent the day in our yard trimming trees that hadn't been trimmed in nearly a decade. We have a giant eucalyptus tree that was in desperate need of trimming and cleaning out. They spend a few hours on that tree and I was so worried they were going to ruin the way the tree looked. Quite the opposite, the tree looks beautiful now! And because of the way they cleaned it out more sun is coming through the branches and our yard is brighter and our solar panels are not in the shade anymore. They also trimmed a pepper tree and our dwarf orange tree. In addition, they "fixed" a 40 ft tall pine tree that had been previously butchered by another "tree trimmer". I was so impressed with Artistic Arborist. I was referred to them by a family member, we had a tree that was growing at a strange angle and causing damage to a retaining wall. Mr. Rodriguez came out to look at it and have us a price to remove the tree and clean up the rest of the yard. His office called the next day to schedule. I was a little nervous because they never gave me a contract or anything to sign, but they came back and did the work they agreed to. Took two days and everything looked great. We have several Eucalyptus trees in our backyard that had to be removed because they were falling into our neighbor's driveway and the leaves were littering everyone's pool. We had several people come out to do an estimate and one company wanted to charge us $4000 for the whole job! The cost to remove ONE our biggest tree was almost what Artistic Arborist quoted us for the whole job! Service was prompted, both on the phone and on-site. The crew was professional and worked hard all day. We were really pleased with the removal because once they were done, we couldn't tell there ever was a tree there! The reason for only four star is that we wished the crew would of stacked the woods from the cut down tree at the bottom of the hill so it can easily be hauled off instead of just cutting them and left them where they fell. We had to go out there to gather and stacked them for the people we are giving the fire wood to. Some of the pieces were way too big to be moved so we need to get an ax to chop them into manageable pieces. Overall, we are happy with the price and service. There are two more pine tree that may eventually need to also be removed and we will definitely call on these guys again! read more

I received multiple bids to trim trees at my Oceanside home, but this company shined through for a couple reasons. Not only were they were the lowest bid, but they obviously took the most pride in their work. They truly are artists. There was a bit of a late start the first day (3 hours delayed, truck issues apparently), but they made up for it by putting in a lot of extra effort when they came back to finish the job. Artistic Arborist folks have been taking care of my very large trees for many years. After the round of forceful storms so far this year, the gigantic eucalyptus tree in my back yard and precisely 20 feet from my bedroom worried me so much that it would fall into the house, I called for an opinion about what to do with it. We have had it trimmed to the point of it looking like a ridiculous swizzle stick and after discussion, we decided it would be best for comfort and safety to take it down. We are now into day seven of this huge undertaking, but things are going well and the workers are all extremely pleasant to work with. All of this heavy wood has to be hand carried and carted from a second story back yard to the street below where their truck waits patiently. I couldn't be happier with the work they're doing and their caring and happy attitudes. I recommend them for all 5 stars and wish there were more! read more

Mr. Rodriguez and his crew are some of the hardest working guys you can hire. They worked two days straight on my half acre lot doing weed abatement, tree trimming and stump grinding in 100 degree heat and didn't slow down the whole time. We needed to have the yard fixed up for our annual July 4th party and Artistic Arborist were able to fit us into their busy schedule and complete the project as promised for a fair price. These people are the best! We have a big pecan tree in our front yard. It's branches extend near the power lines so SDGE's tree trim service comes by and whacks it back, not artistically, every so often leaving it looking lopsided and odd. We have had Artistic Arborist come out twice now. Once 3 years ago and once yesterday. They do a beautiful job lacing and shaping the tree to work with what sdge's service provider did. We have had other services in the past. Typically they do an ok job the first time and not so much the second time. These people are real artists. The crew chief spends a lot of time looking at the tree from every angle before the cutting starts and during. He even went over to my neighbors house who planted a new tree about a year ago and pruned it up a little and gave them tips on training the tree. For Free! They didn't even ask him, he just couldn't stand it so he went over and offered. I will never use another service. I was just lucky to have seen their truck in the Santee Hometown Buffet parking lot when I had eaten there one day. read more

I cancelled my service that I had scheduled with this company because they told me we would have to re-schedule. I had already boarded my dogs for that day, and could not change the day. Jessica offered me a significant amount off my bill however that wasnt the issue, So, she AGREED to refund my deposit that same day. 3,800.00. She not only didnt refund my deposit, she also wouldnt take any calls from me. I had to go through the dispute process with my credit card co. and it took over a month to get my $ back. I liked the work they had done for me previously but I wasnt treated fairly in this instant. It cost me to board my 2 dogs the day the work was supposed to be done, and while Jessica offered to give me money off for the work to be done on another day, that was NOT the agreement, BEWARE read more

It was such an easy and pleasant experience to deal with this company. They showed up on time for an appointment to bid the job, gave a very reasonable price, returned promptly to take care of all of the trees on our property, and cleaned up the site beautifully. They did a fantastic job of trimming and lacing trees, and of removing one that I hadn't even realized was about to do some damage to the pavement. This job took considerable skill because of power lines under it, and neighboring house right next to it. They were highly skilled at working with enormous, dangerous trees.
