He was also friendly, professional, and clearly very knowledgeable. His crew just finished our project in 5 days, and my husband and I couldn't be happier. They did excellent work, were respectful of our space, cleaned up thoroughly each day (which many contractors overlook), and worked hard the entire time. Gabriel ran our job and he was excellent and always had a smile on his face. I've already shared Carmelo's number with two friends and will absolutely continue to refer him to anyone in need of a great landscaper. I had 2 medium-sized fruit trees I needed to transfer from my parent's home in Southeast San Diego to mine in North County. I took pictures and he gave us a very reasonable price. We also decided to also add another service to take out our palm tree. There were a couple of mishaps such as: The day he was scheduled to take out the palm tree, he was a no-show and my husband had to call him an hour after he was supposed to arrive. Then, the day after that incident, was the fruit tree transfer. He and his team forgot to bring their dolly. Thank goodness my Dad had one so they borrowed it, but now we have the burden in taking it back. Despite these mishaps, Noe was very knowledgeable and professional in his mannerisms. The day of the fruit tree transfer, he and his team arrived in a timely manner, was efficient and did a great job overall. We were very pleased and will definitely use him again if we have another project.

They helped to transform a so-so tract home front yard into something attractive and our pile of dirt back yard into something beautiful. Along the way, Roy was good at communicating with us and his team. His team are masters at their craft and take pride in their work. Their attention to detail with things we didn't even think of was appreciated - such as adding a small grade to the patio so water all flows into the drains they installed. When we miscommunicated or if something wasn't up to our extremely high standards (like we wanted one side of the firepit to be moved over 3/4"), Roy simply had his team fix it. The other big plus was Roy's willingness and ability to communicate with our pool contractor. I barely was involved. Both of them discussed plans and Roy listened to what our pool contractor needed for drainage around the pool and how tile should be placed around the pool cover well. I didn't have to worry about gas lines, drainage etc.. they figured out what needed to be done between them. Roy typically focuses on 1-2 jobs at a time, so there was momentum on our job. We saw many of our neighbors abandoned by their contractors half way, disappearing for a month or more, but Roy's team kept showing up, and got our job done quite quickly. When we had issues with our polymeric sand setting (something to do with our tile - Roy used the same polymeric sand and base at other sites and it worked), Roy and his team persisted in finding a solution. Even though everything was pretty much done, they tried several times to make things right. Finally, we found an Irish product on Amazon that did the trick. It's not a product typically sold in the US and is applied differently from regular polymeric sand. Roy made sure his team watched the videos and went over the instructions with them so the product was applied correctly. We are so happy he helped us find a solution (and we learned a lesson - sometimes it's better to stay away from super cheap, need to clear the store room, product)! In summary, working with Roy Murillo and his crew was a great experience. His pricing is reasonable (I compared several landscapers), and he and his crew truly know what they are doing. I have recommended them to family and neighbors and would work with them again in a heartbeat.

During the week of 7/7, he mismanaged all aspects of our…read morelandscaping project, leading us to lose over $5,000 due to improper application of synthetic turf, failure to remove old turf and decomposed granite from our yard, putting a nail through our sprinkler line, and placing sticky sand all over our pavers requiring additional cleanup. Chris was informed about the removal of turf, roots, and DG four days prior to completion, but did not respond. I had over 100 text and phone calls with his subcontractor - Boots Construction, who was rarely present and did not address the issues. One time, he left to give a quote for another job instead of staying at our house. Chris guaranteed Boots would always be on site. I spent over 25 hours supervising and fixing problems with the entire project. Chris assured me of Boots' expertise, which proved false. Despite receiving payments, Boots has not paid his crew. Chris was sent numerous pictures and text, but did not resolve any of these problems. In fact, he stated he would be unable to provide any assistance or reimbursement of any kind.... Not even a penny. * Paver problems: Boots didn't take the right samples or measurements, so the pavers were mismatched and cut poorly. The sand was applied badly, and they didn't install root barriers as promised. * Fire pit and walkway issues: The fire pit area was uneven and needed to be redone. * Mulch mess: The crew piled mulch against the plants, even though they were told not to. We had to redo all the mulch installations around 150 plants. * Crew's behavior: The crew left trash all over our yard, including pizza boxes and water bottles we purchased for lunch. Chris stated on the 6th day our yard would be left in a pristine state and the opposite happened. They even left loose razor blades that were a hazard to our dogs! * Turf troubles: Turf and DG were removed with no disposal plan, leaving our gate unusable and driveway blocked until we paid 1-800-Got-Junk for removal. Chris did not respond when contacted. The turf showed visible nail spots, uneven seams, improper cuts, and house flashing and two sprinkler lines were damaged requiring another contractor for repairs. Boots used only a third of the specified infill amount. * Root removal problems: The roots weren't removed to the agreed depth, which could cause future issues. We had to buy materials to finish the root barrier installation. * Contract and payment concerns: Chris required a 25% upfront payment on 7/2, exceeding California's legal 10% downpayment limit, citing the need for pre-July 4th material purchases. However, receipts show no materials were bought until 7/11. Chris mismanaged the job and failed to respond to calls on Thursday and Friday. Despite our contract with him, he took no direct responsibility and communicated only about payments from Monday to Saturday. The subcontractor did not handle the turf professionally, contrary to Chris's assurances. Both Chris and Boots Construction are not licensed contractors according to the California State License Board. I would give a negative star rating if possible.

I've had issues in the past with bids for other projects that I assumed included the little details but didn't and then I had to pay extra. Michael's bid included every detail in writing that you would assume would be a part of a new lawn job and it was very reasonable. He also showed up on time for the initial appointment! His crew was great! Their work was very detailed and clean. The job was done within three days and all of the work area, including the driveway, was cleaned up. They even noted my falling-apart fence gate so Michael gave me a very reasonable quote and they did a great job fixing it for me. There were a lot of details for after-care and I've texted Michael multiple times to confirm. He texts back quickly and I never get the impression he's annoyed (I've sent a lot of texts!). I have a number of trees on my property and have used multiple tree services. ArborCare is far and away the best. Raul provided expert advice on how to proceed. The crew then did a great job with a set of tree removals, being careful to so without damaging anything (e.g., yard lighting, other plants). Master Tree beat all the other quotes (blindly), including the ones from Facebook Marketplace. Esteban showed up the first time to give me the estimate and explained that "a team" would show up, take all the necessary safety precautions, remove it in ONE hour, grind the stump on site (they show up with big, new trucks), and clean up. Well, they did just that PLUS they trimmed other trees for an additional nominal fee, removed other debris I had at no additional fee, and did an amazing job with the cleanup! Their office staff handled the scheduling, emailed me their liability proof of insurance, handled the billing invoice, processed payment and receipt with extreme efficiency!
