I had a major leak in the irrigation valve in front of my house, so I reached out to my neighbors asking for recommendations. Carmelo and his team were recommended by two of them. I reached out to Carmelo, and he was very cordial and quick to respond. He asked me about the issue and provided me with a quote. I then got quotes from a number of different companies, but Carmelo was the one I felt most comfortable with, and his quote was in line with the market price for the work. The following day, he showed up in person to inspect the leak, diagnosed it properly, and scheduled the work to be completed by his teammate, Gabriel. When Gabriel arrived at the site, he showed up with all the equipment he needed and a very positive attitude. The response they just left here is a LIE. No one tried to contact me to reschedule. I always contacted them first - to get the brush off last minute. Carmelo and I had set up an appointment for an estimate I needed for irrigation work at my house. He said he'd stop by 6/18/2024 but texted me last minute he couldn't make it. He asked to reschedule. I wish I had a better experience with Carmelo's Crew Landscaping. I originally reached out because of all the great reviews and pictures of their work but we had a terrible experience. It took about 6 weeks for them to come out and on the day of the project they arrived about 4 hours late. Threw some monkey flowers and succulents in according to our plan along with a Tecoma Stans tree. The tree is now folded in half the trunk is so thin it needs staking but they did not provide. None of the plants were planted at correct depth or in line. The mulch came with cockroaches and is poor quality. I have to rip out the 10 succulents as they all died from being overwatered based on the setting they provided and drip irrigation they installed. I really never leave a bad review unless I'm really disappointed. On the better half of things Carmelo and his crew were very polite and kind but I'm very unimpressed with the quality of their work. read more

We had a wonderful experience working with Carmelo and his crew, beginning to end. We had a general design, and Carmelo came out to walk it with us, describing what was possible and what would be most effective. We agreed that they would come pull weeds around my house where things had become very overgrown. Instead of pulling them they weedwhacked them so instead of leaving a clean looking yard I now have 2" tall weeds everywhere. It was not what I was promised and after a few days the weeds are already growing back. I feel like I got ripped off. Do not work with them. Updated: They did gather up and dispose of a lot of trash which is great but the main thing I wanted was for the weeds to be gone and the weeds are still here and growing. Carmelo, Gabriel et crew are truly all master gardener artists of the highest grade. they cleared my weedy hill and restored it to become an exuberant flower garden, with forest fines mulch and drip irrigation, and planted many, many baby plants and small trees very carefully and all at the right angles so plants weren't having a falling forward look on a hill incline. they even mulched in the rain, they work hard ! they helped cover a large hill and it was true that forest fines mulch prevents dust so they know what's suitable for a hilly garden. it's been some years now, and all the baby plants they planted thoughtfully with fertilizer have all grown and are happy, virtually no weeds have returned, and if a few did, they're easy to pluck out due to the thick mulch preventing them. they didn't use any roundup for the weeds, which I appreciated. they helped install the rachio which has the coolest app out there so just a tap away automating your watering and smart watering with the weather in mind, and the system has never leaked anywhere unlike my old DIY drip lines. they use professional grade stuff for drainage, stairs, and irrigation and you can tell the things they build and design lasts and looks good. they were able to help me fix big pooling water areas with a meticulous drainage system. neighbors love our stairs built on the hill with it's cascading look too and they used rocks to help decorate the edges that happened to be already existing on the hill. they love their work, and have pride in their projects! super, super kind team that I feel could make any garden enlivening, with an artisanal and creative eye, and of course highly functional! read more
