We have used Freddy's Tree Service in the past and they always do a great job. This time they did a major clean up around our house, trimming several feet of hedges and trees. Frank quickly provided me with a detailed estimate that included pricing for each area of the yard, which was nice. The crew arrived on time and were polite and courteous as they worked all day around the house. I was super impressed on how they were able to chip all of the trimmings after at the end of the day, leaving nothing. They cleaned up the areas nicely, ramping up leaves and brush around the trees, and blew off our driveway where they staged all of the tree trimmings. When they left you would not have even known they were here. Would highly recommend this business for tree trimming and yard cleanup. Freddie and his brother Frank are kind and professional and deserving of your business! read more

Overall they did a good job for both times that we had them cut down a tree and trim a couple of trees for us.

Recommended by two neighbors, Freddie's team did an exceptional job removing an enormous coral tree that had completely outgrown its space next to the house. Their bid was fair; the team was clean, tidy, on time; they even ground the stump (imagine the size!)!! This is our new tree maintenance team. Thank you, Freddie and co! read more

We got 4-5 different quotes from various tree removal companies in San Diego and Freddie had the best price by far! They were incredibly communicative, showed up on time, were professional throughout the entire job, and did an incredibly thorough job. I couldn't be happier with the service and would absolutely recommend them to anyone needing tree removal! read more

Big shout out to Freddie's tree service! They did an exceptional job cutting down my dead 40 foot pine tree, trimming the oak trees overhanging the road and splitting the wood and piling it up in a very neat way! We reached out to a few tree services to have a rather large tree cut back in our backyard. Everyone was nice and there was a decent price range between everyone. We know quite a few neighbors in our area that have used Freddie's diner decided to go with them. From the get go they were very nice and responsive. The tree is in our neighbors backyard and at 1et we thought they may need access to that side but ends up the team was so good they were able to trim from within our backyard afterall. We were super happy with the job Freddie's Tree Service did. Quick, reliable, great team and they did an awesome job and are very competitive price wise. read more

Fabulous company! Best communication ever, listens well. 1st company I've ever had come to my location without 2 or 3 phone calls on how to reach our odd location. Was just having 4 bushes greatly trimmed, 5 foot off top and sides brought in. Professional, proper equipment. really impressed with their ladder as our landscape is uneven and near a wall drop off. No fear for me when they pulled out that speciality ladder. I asked for a quote to do more work and to my delight, they stuck around to do that unscheduled work. Can't say enough good things! Fabulous and completed in timely manner. Carted off all debris. read more

First and foremost, I found Freddie and his crew to be professional and courteous. They were recommended by my neighbor and I'm so glad we hired them. They trimmed and cut 4 very tall and overgrown fern pines in our backyard and did an outstanding job. They even kept me in the loop by asking questions as they went along. They even prepared the area by covering our pool, which I did not expect, but am grateful for. The area was cleaned very well when they were done and everything was put back in order. They are licensed and insured, which was a must for us and I found their prices to be fair. I would definitely use their service again and would highly recommend them! read more

We've been using Freddy's Tree Service for the past 8 years, and they've consistently delivered top-notch work. Over the years, they've removed several trees for us -- including a massive 70-ft Mexican Fan Palm -- and have regularly maintained our property. This includes trimming palm trees, a mature Avocado tree, multiple Podocarpus trees, 25-ft tall Birds of Paradise, and a large California Pepper Tree. Most recently, I asked them to tackle a hillside cleanup after I fell behind on yard maintenance. The results? When my wife saw it and said it looks amazing -- that's what I call a win! Freddy's crew is always professional, reasonably priced, and they never leave a mess behind. Quality service, year after year. read more

Welp... in typical fashion, I called Freddie's Tree Service out to get a quote on some hedge trimming, tree stump removals, and lacing up an Orchid Tree. Not only was the quote straight forward and priced fairly, but the work crew showed up on-time and quickly went to work. A couple hours later, the work product was awesome and spoke for itself. Part of being a homeowner is knowing when to farm out the work and cut the check. Freddie's make that decision easy for me. The results are always better than expected, and the time saved for me is incalculable. Thanks guys for everything! read more

Adjusted rating because the owner reached out to remedy the issue. Note the palm tree trimming was fine. The clean up was generally pretty good. Price was they were on par for palm tree trimming although I did not really negotiate because I added the hibiscus "trimming." read more

Freddie's was the fasted to respond to a tree removal inquiry and the fastest to come to my house to give an estimate. Estimate was fair among the quotes we received. They had the best attitude so they got my business. The team arrived on time and did a great with tree trimming. I've used someone else in the past and thought they never trimmed quite enough. Freddies did a great thorough job trimming all branches and it will be years before they become a problem again. They also did a great job with tree/stump/root removal. Best part of their service? They cleaned up everything! My backyard was spotless including all the leaves that were laying around BEFORE their cutting even began.. Recommended read more

Great service, and great price. I would definitely recommend Freddie's Tree Service to everyone. They took two palm trees down, cut one of my palm tree in half (as I requested) and used their grinder to take out two stumps. This was in addition to cleaning and trimming 6 other palm trees. Frank Gaspar and his team did a fantastic job removing a monstrous Italian cypress right against the house in a tight and narrow area without damaging the roof or the neighbor's house. They were also able to remove an overgrown elm and Brazilian pepper tree in the back yard and completely removed a gigantic stump in the front. He was able to get to the area early before the scheduled time and got everything done within a day. Highly recommended. The team is adept with tree removal in tough areas and professional. read more

We got Freddie's name from a friend and we are very happy we used his tree service. He set up a time to come by to give us an estimate. He arrived promptly and provided the estimate before he left. We agreed to the price and he started our job a couple of days later. His crew is hard working and very courteous. They left our yard spotless and even trimmed additional plants that were not part of the job. I would recommend his company without reservation. We had previously used a different tree service for many years but unfortunately their quality had decreased as their prices escalated. read more

Called on Sunday to schedule an estimate with Freddie and other tree removal companies for Monday morning. Freddie was very personable and answered all my questions, both in-person and on the telephone. We had two, 80-100 ft tall pine trees that were leaning toward the house and were buckling the retaining walls. We wanted these removed as soon as possible due to the risk of them falling onto the house and into the road. Freddie was very responsive to texts and emails regarding the cost estimate, scheduling, safety and training of his team. His estimate was competitive and he was able to assemble his well-trained team to tackle this job as readily as Wed, which he then changed to Tues. afternoon. We were thrilled because other tree removers could not schedule us for over 2 weeks. Initially, I was concerned about the safety of the tree removers because we weren't sure if their equipment could reach the tree located further from the street. Freddie reassured me that his guys do this work all the time and know what they're doing. I took video of them working on both trees simultaneously and was in awe at how well and how quickly they worked together. And they did it without any injuries and without damaging any property! They were unbelievable! The coordination and communication needed to remove such tall and complex trees while working in a narrow space and taking care not to let the swinging branches hit anyone or anything is difficult. Gaspar coordinated the guys on the day where both trees were removed down to 5 ft or so from the ground. That was a lot of hard work by these 6 guys to do in a single day in the hot sun and high temperatures. They also very efficiently took care of putting the branches through the wood chipper and loading sections of the trunk into another vehicle for removal. There was minimal disruption in the neighborhood and they had safety cones around their equipment and the stacked tree branches in front of the house. They did an awesome job and would highly recommend them for future tree work! read more

I hired Freddie's for a chipping and stump grinding project. I provided my project's Zip code with the Yelp request. After texting them additional requested photos of the project to the provided mobile phone number, they provided a bid of $450 and we agreed upon a date and time. That's when the squeeze began. They texted me back, and increased their bid by $200! Now they want $650 for the same project, but of course can come out right away. That's a ridiculous 44% increase! Needless to say this company was fired from my project for their sleazy bait and switch tactics. read more

I requested a quote through Yelp and Fred responded quickly and came the next day to evaluate and write an estimate. I had them come to prune three trees - cassia, crepe myrtle and a jacaranda. They pruned the cassia and crepe myrtle fine with and extendable pruner. I was happy with their work on those two trees. However, the jacaranda was a different story. They had a guy climb the tree with shoe spikes which damaged the trunk with many holes and a large gash when his spike slipped on the trunk. While watching them cut, I did not realize using spikes on a tree should only be used for tree removal. I'm disappointed that I paid money to maintain my tree only to have it hurt in the process. read more

Frank not only showed up on a semi-holiday, but he was honest and genuine about my palm tree's actual anti-disease needs (vs. my own, perhaps overblown fears). He could've tried to milk me, but he totally didn't (i.e. great value). In fact, I got the sense right away that he's not that type of guy. Thanks again for the responsive and honest service, Frank and team. Highly recommend to others! read more

I called and set an appointment with the owner for 11:30am today...rushed and left work early so I could meet his crew at 11:30am and put my dog inside. They didn't arrive to my house until 12:25pm. They sat in their trucks, so I texted the owner asking why they are sitting in their trucks and he informed me that they are now taking their lunch break and will start the job when they are done. I explained to the owner that I took off work to meet them at 11:30am and it is now past 12:30pm and they are going to take their lunch break then start. I told him this was not very professional. He replied to "find someone else to trim your trees" cancelled the job and told his guys to leave. I am going to save the text chain and post it as a photo. Unreal.... read more

Freddie's Tree Service removed 3 trees for me (Agonis flexuosa and California Pepper), the roots of which were causing damage to my irrigation system and causing cracks in the concrete driveway. One tree in particular had grown far too large and I was concerned about it damaging the foundation to the house. I live in a residential area with neighbors close by and they were careful to rope the branches to avoid damaging anything, including adjacent shrubs. Was very impressed at how well the stump and large roots were ground down. They cleared up really well, including the small branches, sawdust, leaves, and wood-chips. Overall, they did a very professional job, were very quick, and excellent value. I have no hesitation in recommending this company and would definitely use them again. read more
