Communication with Santos Pena was promt, courteous, professional, and friendly. We effectively scheduled the appointment. Santos kept me updated prior to appointment date/time, and completed the job as agreed, including a thorough cleanup of all debris from our property. Extremely satisfied. read more

Santos and his crew did a great job on my unruly bush and mystery stump. Santos was quick to reply through the Yelp quoting process and we discussed the project and pricing. I had previously paid two gardeners to remove a bush in my backyard who had left a stump buried in place which I discovered and attempted to hack out with a chain saw to no avail (and I feel like I had paid for others to have not got the job done). Santos did the legit work to get this crazy stump out! This thing was a twisted cyclone and he wrangled it up and put in root killer. I also had a massive bush out front I wanted gone so I can use the space for something more manageable later. None of us were expecting all the beach rock underneath the bushes so that was left in place which was ok with me. They didn't have time to deal with it and it was out of scope. The bush came out no problem and they didn't leave a mess. The did great work, I'll be back when I'm ready to tackle the eucalyptus stump in the back. Thanks guys. read more

I had two towering Cypress trees (over 26' tall) where the roots started cracking a 3' retaining wall due to the trees roots (inherited with the house, I would have never planted them there for this very reason). Also, this past year, one became heavily infested with spider mites and it was starting to spread to the other tree. Moreover, it was harrowing to watch them sway back and forth in high wind events. Reluctantly, after procrastinating for months, I came to the conclusion that it would be best to remove them asap before we get any more compromising weather this fall/winter and there was an actual retaining wall breach. I called Santos and he came out the next day & as he gave me a fair price for the work, we scheduled the task for the following week. His tree cutter was careful not to compromise my internet wires that were attached to the telephone pole and when grinding the stump his crew took extra care to avoid my irrigation pipes and landscaping wire. In addition to the tree clean up, they took away some other plant debris I had accumulated getting the area ready for the tree cutting and even cut some tree branches breaching my fence line from my neighbors house which was much appreciated. Although I am always reluctant to fell trees, Santos and his crew did an outstanding job and provided excellent customer service! I am going to have them come back out in the late fall to trim down and hedge back my bank of 6 podocarpus trees. read more

Santos did an excellent job trimming our orchid tree, privet tree, and fishtail palm. The orchid tree had previously been trimmed by someone else and wasn't in the best shape, but Santos took the time to assess it and came up with a plan to gradually restore its natural form and beauty. I really appreciated that he focused on the long-term health and appearance of the tree rather than just cutting it back. He was professional, knowledgeable, and meticulous with his work. All three trees look much better, and the cleanup afterward was thorough. It's clear that he takes pride in what he does and genuinely cares about the trees he's working on. I highly recommend him to anyone looking for quality tree trimming and expert advice on maintaining healthy, attractive trees. Thank you, Santos! read more

Santos was highly professional, kind, and honest. He was upfront that I didn't really need his service as it was a small fix I could do myself. And yet he still spent a good deal of time educating me on site on how to care for my fish tail tree (and others). Nice guy, I trust him, and will use him next time I need his actual service. read more

I had a great experience with Santos! I had called three companies to take down two trees. Ultimately, Santos was the best-priced and had the fastest turnaround. I was a little nervous because sometimes cheaper means terrible service. However, that was NOT the case. The crew showed up early at 7:45 AM and quickly took down two big trees (a juniper and a carrotwood), leaving no trace. I had a huge dragonfruit vine on the juniper and asked if they would leave me some cuttings to propagate. He seemed more than happy to accommodate the request. Santos was on site and even texted me when he had to leave for 45 minutes. At the last minute, I asked him to round out a little oak, and he took care of it immediately. He was friendly and professional, with great communication throughout. His team did great work at an excellent price! Highly recommend! read more

It's usually a waste of time to write a review of a business that has 150 5-star reviews. How much more can one review contribute? But this company and its owner are extraordinary, and I would feel remiss if I didn't add my voice to the flood of 5-stars. We have a giant Ficus tree in our yard. 35 or 40 feet tall. Like all Ficus, it grows rapidly and gets bushy. It needs to be cut back. Twice in the past we have had it trimmed, and we were very unhappy with the results. My wife started to cry when she saw the tree after that first trimming; the second time she growled "butcher job" and refused to look at it for months. It looked like it had (barely) survived a forest fire. A few days ago Santos Peña and his crew came here to work on the tree, and the result is delightful. Instead of lopping off limbs wholesale, they climbed up into the tree and thinned it out, leaving most of the big branches and many of the smaller leafy branches. It looks like a tree now. His fee was quite reasonable. I've already made a calendar entry for next year when we'll bring them back to update and adjust. And during that year it will be pretty. One final note: his name is Santos Peña, with a tilde over the ñ. He said he couldn't get Yelp to accept that punctuation. read more

We are new to citrus trees and, after researching on google how to trim them, decided we were better off hiring a professional. We reached out on Yelp to find an experienced arborist to trim our citrus trees. Santos responded to our request for a quote immediately. He was able to come out and look at our trees within 2 hours. We were glad we worked with him as we discovered our trees were infected with several different types of insects. We thought the fruit was twisted and distorted because of lack of water. Santos was honest and fair, offering to give us the information so we could spray for insects ourselves. He also noted that the trees should not be trimmed, as it would shock them. This time of season and that we should wait until january to truly cut them back. All of the information he provided was in line with the research we had found. We decided to hire Santos to come and spray the trees, he cut back the sucklings that were taking over our trees, and sprayed organic treatment to help get our trees back to health. He was knowledable, honest, fair, and inline with the costs of other quotes. We will absolutely stay with Santos for life!! read more

Professional and efficient! We and our neighbors were looking to have a portion of the canyon slope behind our properties cleaned up to mitigate wildfire risk. While we were out of town, one neighbor took the lead to reach out to several companies. Santos' quote was competitive, but what we really appreciated was that he returned to our neighborhood to meet with my hubby and me, explain his estimate, and address any of our questions. Communication with Santos was great; he was very responsive and kept us informed throughout the entire process. Santos and his team worked efficiently and diligently. They placed tarps over our gate and fence to protect them from the debris that they hauled away. They also cleaned up our yard better than it was when they arrived. Our canyon slope is now clear of weeds and overgrown vegetation. We were super impressed with Santos and his team and highly recommend them! read more
