Pena Tree Services was an outstanding experience. Called & Felix was responsive & friendly. Coordinated a time to estimate and was able to get that done same day in the afternoon. He was very friendly & provided me a very fair estimate. After researching snd looking and comparing & contrasting I didn't feel the need to shop around and decided Pena Tree Services was it. Was able to get scheduled the next day for a large pine tree removal on a hill where many large limbs overhung our outdoor kitchen. I was concerned, asked if I needed any prep work and he said no...we got it. The very friendly & professional crew came on time, dressed safely as that was a concern of mine as well, but safety is important to them, they put up plywood on the BBQ area, along the path from yard to driveway, put up tarps to prevent sap and debris. A group of 5 came and made short work of the 30 year old tree, no damage to anything, cleaned up and the crew was awesome. Outdoor Kitchen intact, no issues, cleaned up and very, very pleased with the estimate, the service, the quality of work, the price...all of it...very pleased. Great Company, well run, very efficient, friendly and quality folks...when I have a need in the future I'll absolutely return. From my experience I would recommend them highly. I will recommend to family & friends. Solid Experience! read more

We loved our experience with Pena Tree Service. They we're quick to come out, give us a quote, and schedule service. For having an Insured team onsite for this job, the price seemed very fair. They arrived early and brought a team of 12 men to complete our big project. They removed 5 large trees (Pepper, Liquid Ambers, Eucalyptus) and trimmed up a bunch of others (Olive, Cypress, Pepper, Crepe Myrtle, etc). They were very knowledgeable, respectful, communicative, and caring. What surprised me and stood out the most was the communication and care that went into their service. They were easy going when I wanted to change things up last minute about which trees to remove/trim, they were helpful when I had questions and wanted to understand why they did things the way they did, they even sent ideas over about what to feed some of our trees that needed more nourishment, and more. I was especially impressed with the level of care Irbin displayed, always ensuring that we were well cared for and satisfied with their work. When a neighbor was involved with a few of the trees, he helped navigate those murky waters and it ended beautifully. So many of the guys were wonderful to work with. I would Rate our experience higher than a 5 if I could! Thank you to the wonderful team at Pena! read more

After getting estimates from several tree companies, I'm so glad I chose Pena Tree Service. From start to finish, the experience was exceptional. It all started with Francisco, who came out within an hour of my initial inquiry. That level of responsiveness is almost unheard of today and immediately gave me confidence. The owner was also on site, which I really appreciated, and it shows why they have been in business for 42 years. Throughout the entire process, the communication and follow-up were outstanding. It felt like true old-school customer service--professional, dependable, and genuinely focused on taking care of the customer. The crew was absolutely fantastic. They arrived exactly when promised, were incredibly polite and respectful, worked efficiently, and clearly took pride in what they were doing. The quality of their work exceeded my expectations, and they handled everything with care and professionalism. When the job was finished, they left my property absolutely immaculate. You would never have known they had just removed trees--every branch, leaf, and bit of debris was cleaned up. It's refreshing to find a business that still believes in doing things the right way. I highly recommend Pena Tree Service and wouldn't hesitate to use them again. read more

Called Pena tree service, Felix answered, said he could be at our house in about an hour to give an estimate on our Date Palm that had dropped it's crown after 50 years. (50ft. tall) He arrived within the hour, was very professional and very informative. Gave me a quote that was extremely reasonable for the large project that we had. Irbin and his team arrived promptly at 7:30am (Saturday) and was very communicative all day through on what they were planning on doing. They did an extraordinary job!!! They went above & beyond to make sure that no damage was done to our pools or any other foliage in our yard & our neighbor's yard. Pena Tree Service is definitely the best!! They even skimmed the pools after the tarps came off. Was not expecting that at all.. ( since we put the tarps on ourselves and all the other tree services that we've used before have never done that!) VERY impressed with the communication, work ethic and professionalism within this company.. If you haven't used Pena before you should start NOW!!! You WON"T be disappointed!! read more

I called Pena Tree Care & Services after seeing outstanding work completed at a neighborhood home. Felix gave me a quote that was more fair. Two days later there were 2 crews at my home. This is a massive job. They removed 29 40 year old Italian cypresses (half were 50' tall), a 50'+ pine tree, 2 Myoprum and 1 Eugenia that became trees. Some of the Cypress trees were in the middle of tall hedges next to chain links fences bordering my neighbor's home in my fenced backyard. Safety came first for the crews, my property and my neighbors' properties. The Pena Team members are professionals who care that everything is done right. My spa and pool area were covered to trap any debris and cleaned my pool. They used plywood and tarps to cover a block sidewalk and turf lawn to prevent damage. My neighbor allowed a lift in their yard to remove 50' cypress trees. All debris from the job was completely removed from our 3 yards. My neighbors were very happy. I highly recommend Pena Tree Care & Services. I will be using them again in the future. read more

I was fortunate to see some of Pena Tree Services' work as they had performed tree maintenance for several of my neighbors. I hired Felix and his crew to remove two Sycamore trees from my front yard that had massive root systems; some surface roots were 8" and more in diameter. They brought in a stump grinder and ground out both trees' root systems after they felled both trees. A thorough cleanup followed. With the root systems cleared of my front yard, I am now able to proceed with my makeover front yard landscape. What impressed me was the attention to safety for both the crew and surrounding properties, their professionalism, and their courteousness. Felix's knowledge as an arborist is exceptional, as we talked about the mentors he has access to. What a great job they did, and as a bonus, the price was below our budget for the job. I'm confident that I, and my neighbors will benefit from future services provided by Pena Tree Service. read more

I'm absolutely thrilled with the exceptional service I received from Pena Tree Services! Felix and Eddie were fantastic to work with, and they went above and beyond to help me remove a large bird of paradise plant that was causing damage to my exterior wall. Their quote was very reasonable, and they were able to start the job the very next day. They arrived on time, worked efficiently, and showed a high level of professionalism throughout the entire process. What's more, they even went the extra mile by stopping by Home Depot to pick up a new plant to replace the old one, saving me the hassle. They are truly amazing to work with and I couldn't be happier with the outcome. I can not recommend them enough and will be using them for all of my future tree removal or landscaping needs! read more

We recently hired Pena Tree Removal Service, and they did an absolutely fantastic job from start to finish! We had a massive project that involved removing several tricky, spiky succulents, trimming our large hedges, and taking down a huge eucalyptus tree. They also beautifully balled our Podocarpus trees, showing real care and expertise for the plants we wanted to preserve. What really sets them apart is their professionalism, had great interactions with Irvin and Francisco as well as the owner Felix. Their pricing was completely transparent with no hidden surprises, and their communication throughout the entire process was top-notch. If you need tree or landscaping services in San Diego, look no further than Pena. They are efficient, skilled, and wonderful to work with! read more

Pena Tree Service did a terrific job at a fair price. They removed 2 palm trees from my front yard, one dead and one in danger of falling over. Their communication was excellent, getting back to us quickly for scheduling and arriving when they said they would. A pair of guys came to do the removal, both very polite and knowledgeable. I was worried about how long the job would take and the noise involved because I work from home and have meetings throughout the day. I was amazed at how quickly they were able to get the trees down and moved into their trailer for removal. It was really a relief how a seemingly big problem was resolved so quickly and easily. I hope we don't have additional tree problems, but if we do, I will definitely use them again. read more

Yesterday (4/17) was the third time we have had Peña Tree Services out to trim trees and once again, they did not disappoint. Felix (owner) is quick to respond, gets a detailed quote out promptly, is friendly and professional. Our crew leader, Irbin, communicated ETA in real time, upon arrival walked the property with my husband and me to ensure we were all on the same page, checked in with us at the half way point, and again when the job was complete. For a line of trees we have for privacy, Irbin trimmed one and made sure we liked the result prior to completing the others. Irbin and his crew were friendly, professional, and did a stellar job with clean up! And yes, our trees look great! Thank you Felix, Irbin & Crew! read more

Wow, they did a great job of trimming my 3 huge pine trees. When Felix came to my house & gave an estimate, he was very friendly, knowledgeable & professional. He sent a quote in an email right away that was very thorough. He said that they have high standards when conducting their work & cleanup which was true. Irbin, the head guy on site, was very personable, thorough & knowledgeable in his explanations. He patiently educated me on tree anatomy & how to cut them properly. They were on time & gave a 15 minute courtesy call prior to their arrival. The price was competitive with other licensed & insured tree services. I would definitely hire them again for future work & refer them to my family & friends. read more

This is the second time we have hired Pena Tree Services. I highly recommend this company. They do excellent work! The entire team is fantastic starting with Felix. Irbin, Joseph, and the rest of the crew are professional, hardworking, polite, and knowledgeable. Their communication is excellent. They let me know in advance when they would arrive for the job and answered any questions that came up during the day. We have artificial turf and they were careful not to damage it. They left both the front and back yards very clean. It was hard to tell that they had even been on our property except for the fact that our palm trees look beautiful! Thank you so much. We'll see you next year. read more

Peña Tree Service not only met, but truly exceeded our expectations - they were fantastic! We needed to quickly address an HOA violation, and Felix responded with an onsite evaluation and estimate within hours of our call. Since there was a time constraint, Felix fit us in his busy schedule within the same week, and the crew arrived promptly on the date and time, as promised. Peña Tree Service is well-educated in care of trees, so the tree now looks absolutely beautiful, and will continue its healthy growth. Felix and the Pena crews are true pros. We have used them for several years now to trim and shape several large trees and palms, including some bonsai-styling of a couple of melalucas. Estimates are fair (based on prior experience with other arborists), scheduling is timely, communication throughout is clear, and clean-up is thorough -- including, when needed, in the yards of our neighbors, whom the job foreman consults in advance of any limbs dropping over the fence. We -- and our trees -- feel respected by Pena Tree Care & Services. As importantly, it's clear that their hard-working crews respect and watch-out for one another on the job. read more

We are so pleased with the job Peña Tree Service did for us. Felix came out within an hour of my phone inquiry and put together a competitive quote later that same day to cut down 4 trees, trim multiple palms and other trees and large birds of paradise. We accepted his bid and he arranged to have a crew out the next day. Supervisor Eddie and his crew did a fantastic job quickly and safely taking care of everything requested in the proposal and concluded with a fantastic cleanup. Would I recommend Peña Tree Service? Absolutely! A+ rating for professional and quality service. - Mike, Carlsbad read more

Felix and his crew did an excellent job trimming my queen palms and canary palm. They don't use spikes that can harm the trunks and were careful not to damage other plants during the pruning. For the canary palm they used a new chain for the saw and shared that the equipment had been cleaned with bleach before they began the pruning in order stop the possibility of spreading disease. The crew was pleasant and professional and made sure that I checked the cleanup before leaving. Great job, I am very pleased with the job and will call them again for my next tree trimming. read more
