They always do an amazing job. Bruce provided great customer service. This was our second time using them and we will definitely be back.

Family business, took great care of landscape while doing significant tree work. Specialty services too. They treated a manzanita for scale and really care about the quality of their work. read more

I would highly recommend them for their reliable service! Bruce and his crew are responsive and they made sure to follow through on their work. We had them trim a 20 plus year old tree and it turned out the way we discussed. They gave us a reasonable price for the work performed. Thank you for doing an awesome job! read more

Excellent work! 7 Canary date palms trimmed including pineapple shaping along with the complete removal of a Canary Date palm that had the weevil. Trees were located near pool, planting beds and house so careful trimming and clean up was important to me. Pope's team was very skilled in removing the large tree and careful not to damage lighting, pavers or irrigation. Tarps were used to cover pool areas and planting beds, roof and gutters were cleaned after service - literally there was no clean up for me after the job. The pineapples were shaped perfectly! If you have ever seen one done poorly you can appreciate the perfection of their work. Price was not the cheapest but not the most expensive quote I had. Bruce was very knowledgeable and knew exactly how to remove the beetle infested tree. This was the best tree trim I have had on my property in 19 years! read more

Pope and Bruce came highly recommended by our amazing Landscapers and Management Company. As Board President I met with Bruce. Not only is he a great guy it was very evident he knew his stuff. He even worked with the budget we had available. They just did their first trimming with us and it was fantastic! Much better than our previous Vendors. Because Bruce is such a great guy, and because my Landscaper and Management Companies believe in him so much and because they did a great job we have switched Tree Vendors to Pope. It's easy to see why The Crosby in Rancho Santa Fe employs them. Most people know The Crosby to be the best landscaper best tree trimmed Community in San Diego. When our Landscaper and Management Companies recommend a Vendor I know they are the best of the best. So far I'm incredibly impressed with Bruce and Pope!! read more

Great logo, trucks, and the guy who came out to quote me was knowledgeable and friendly. Very professional! But, REALLY expensive. Seems like a really good company if you can afford it. I have maybe an acre and a bit more, most of it big boulders that don't need clearing. They don't have a drone so couldn't see what they couldn't drill down on from google satellite. Bummer. I would have liked working with them. The quote was $18,000. for brush clearing :( read more

The crew from Pope Tree Service were courteous and professional. They were very knowledgably about all the trees, bushes, and plants on my property, which has over 50 species. Ben, the crew chief, and his crew did an amazing job of cutting back and pruning them all. And Joshua, the pest control and fertilizer dude, really knew his stuff. read more

I was actually impressed with all four tree service companies I interviewed to remove one of the gigantic beetle-killed Canary Island date palms. But the fact that Pope stood out speaks volumes. I would give them 6 stars if possible. Their excellent equipment was exceeded only by an amazing team. While one person climbed the trunk, moving easily but safely around the tree with a chain saw dangling from his belt, he lopped off the fronds, then cut the huge trunk into sections. Each section was safely guided to the ground with ropes by the team. Everything was ground up on site. Including the stump. They cleaned up the job site as if it never even happened. Many thanks to Bruce and his crew. Job done efficiently and at a competitive cost. read more

I have used Pope 4 times on my property. Bruce is amazing as are his employees. Highly professional, competent, and just a stand up Business Owner really. Their rates are 100% competitive, among the lowest actually. His employees are amazing and high Professional, Productive, and their Clean UP was amazing EVERY SINGLE TIME. Love these guys. Won't use anyone else. Ever. read more

Popes crew cam into our neighborhood and cut a bunch of trees. They look like broccalli or something now. Like big poodle tails! Took away ALL PRIVACY FROM THE ROAD. Why ?? to get paid for cutting? I tried to talk to the guy up in the man lift cherry picker asking, why are you cutting them like that!? The trees did need work and had a lot of deadwood , and he actually got in my face telling me he is the expert. BUT, The trees look stupid now! AND there is still a bunch of deadwood! They are all stripped up from the bottom and now very heavy on top! Just ruined! Arbo;ists? certifedd? what ever! who cares about titles when you just ruined our trees! Then threaten me!. Stay out of our neighborhood ! read more

I am truly impressed with this company! The office personnel were very responsive and efficient. The appointment was set and the chipping crew arrived on time. They chipped a huge pile of branches on our property. The compost created was in a neat pile exactly where we wanted it. After the chipping was completed they cleaned the area and left it spotless. I highly recommend Pope Tree Service! read more

I've now used the Pope Tree service three times and each time I've been incredibly impressed with the team from start to finish. The quote and scheduling process is efficient. Great service at a very affordable price ! They trimmed our tree and two palms for about a third of what other companies were quoting us. They worked efficiently and left the area clean! read more

I discovered Pope Tree Service because they were working at a neighbor's house. I had gotten bids to trim my trees (six very large oak trees) in 2019 and Pope Tree came in hundreds of dollars less. I decided to remove three very large and dirty oak trees and have two trimmed. Dustin, who I believe is an owner, came out and looked at the job. He was extremely knowledgeable and respectful. Thereafter, I dealt with Paul, who, as well, was extremely communicative and professional. When the crew arrived (on time), they too did an extremely good job and spent time to explain what they were going to do and did an excellent job!!! They left my property in a far better condition than when they arrived. I would recommend this company to anyone who is looking for tree trimming, removal, as well as brush removal!!!! If I could give them 100 stars, I would!!! read more

The best tree service I have found in the county of San Diego. Highly professional, free estimate, excellent communication work was done on time and perfectly. I was on the phone with Bruce, he came up here to give me an estimate. He was very friendly, and answered all my questions about defensible fire space. Can't say enough about his crew cleaned up everything, made me feel at ease. read more

Pope Tree Service is amazing! I was very impressed with the quality, and how thorough they are. They seriously were the hardest working group of guys. They are focused and never slowed down at all. Top notch customer service and quality is what definitely sets them apart from the rest. read more

I'll second everybody's opinion here, awesome professional on-time service! They came to our house as part of the county's free chipping service that we have used many times, these guys were head and shoulders above previous crews. They weed-whacked the area near the chip pile, racked the entire brush area, and left nothing bigger than the smallest twig! I will be using them to take down a couple of trees and trim up an old oak this summer. read more

I've had Pope's out several times now and have been very happy with everyone I've met or talked to. Love that they're local, love that they support the chipping program---most of all that they listened to what I wanted and did an awesome job, on time. They were also very careful of the plants that were important to me to protect too, as I'm in horticulture as a business. Would highly recommend them! read more

Had four large trees that badly needed cutting back. Sent out three emails to different tree service companies. Only Pope responded and gave me a good price. Pope said other tree companies probably did not contact me because they are having problems finding qualified helpers. Anyway, Pope did an excellent job and I would highly recommend them. I liked that Demetrious (crew chief) asked me after each tree if it looked acceptable before they started on next tree. In summary, great price and excellent job, If trees are overgrown, do not wait till winter storms as you may have difficulty find a tree service. read more

We recently purchased a house with a large, not maintained, backyard of Eucalyptus trees and knew we needed to keep it both safe and clean. So, after a few bids from other vendors, Pope Tree Service came in as clearly the best and most knowledgeable about what to do, how to do it and why. We cannot be more impressed with their service, friendliness and general care for what they are doing. Will certainly use Pope Tree Service again and again. read more

These guys are great. Communication and finished product was fantastic. Paul, the Operations Manager was very professional and also very personable. I like that guy ! I was able to get the work done I needed at our home in Alpine within 3 days of the phone call. Awesome! The 2 gentlemen that arrived to complete the work were also awesome. Professional, courteous and personable. They clearly knew what they were doing as they got right down to work and completed the job quickly. Highly recommended. read more

I have been working with Paul and his team for a few years now. Today, I had Daniel and River from Pope Tree Service. They were excellent! I cannot recommend them more highly. Courteous, conscientious and really tidy with their work (which you don't always get with a tree service). We are prepared for fire season thanks to Pope Tree Service. If you are looking for trimming, pruning or chipping, better call Paul! read more

Dustin was the first arborist I had out to see my tree problem and give me opinions and a proposal. We quickly connected by phone and he was able to visit just a few days later. He was very easy to talk with, seemed quite knowledgeable and confident, and I had a clear understanding of what he would do and why. After a couple of other quotes and extensive "internet research" I decided on a smaller scope than we had discussed. I left a voicemail or two that were not returned in a timely manner and I went with someone else to do the work but I was glad to have consulted with Pope Tree Service and would definitely consider hiring them for future jobs. read more

We recently had Pope Tree Service at our house in Alpine. They called the day before to confirm our appointment, which was helpful for my planning. Once they arrived the were courteous, professional and ON TIME. They gave me options on where I wanted the mulch remains to be shot and worked extremely hard at my property. Additionally they were very understanding that most of my brush was in the driveway and that my wife would have to leave and return, having them stop work and move equipment. I have used them before and will definitely be using them in the future. HIGHLY RECCOMENDED! read more

outstanding service, new equipment and very friendly and efficient crew

At my Fallbrook home, I needed to get trees trimmed or cut down per Cal-Fire notices. Pope Tree Service sent a highly-skilled crew of very courteous, hard-working men who did a fantastic job trimming my palm trees and removing dead trees and fire hazards. With the fire-hazards gone, my yard looks fantastic...they really did quality work. The man who trimmed my tall palm trees with a chain saw was amazing to watch! I wholeheartedly recommend Pope Tree Service to anyone needing work done on their property. read more

So back in early February we had Pope come out and give us a quote for the trimming of ONE tree and nutrient injections. We agreed to pay $1200 for this service. On 2/4/21 two men came and trimmed the tree partially. The nutrient specialist called about a week later to set up his appointment and then failed to show up. He then made another appointment and was late. We had paid the entire invoice on 2/4/21 and our check was cashed 2/9/21. We called Pope again on 4/5/21 to find out if they were coming back to finish the trimming and never received a call back. About a month ago we received a call from their "new" nutrient specialist asking if we were satisfied. We explained what happened and that we were not satisfied nor were we interested in doing additional work with the company. Today we get an invoice from them saying we owe an additional $374. Do NOT do business with this company. They lack any professionalism whatsoever, can't keep track of their own books or employees and don't know the definition of "follow up." read more

I called Pope Tree service out to get an expert opinion on a few large Pine trees and Pepper trees that I was looking to get shaped/thinned out. They promptly responded and provided a very professional service. The entire crew worked in unison and they were a very efficient crew of 4. They had two guys climbing trees and the other two guys running the chipper/cleaning up. They were in and out quickly and did an excellent job on my trees. Also, they were very respectful to the surrounding landscape and left the area very clean. Overall I was very pleased. I will use them in the future and would recommend their service. read more

Just had a large oak tree removed from my back yard. It was so sad to remove it, but it was into my foundation and plumbing. Difficult access and lots of potential hazards including neighbors windows and yard. Their crew utilized "safe" hoists and tie offs, etc. brought the chipper. they provided their insurance certificates before the job after I asked. The price was lower than the other bids and crew was polite, respectful and cleaned up my property and neighbors property extremely well. Only downside was their crew didn't bring enough water for themselves and it was an extremely hot day. They never asked me for water. I never checked till late in the day (my bad). So I obviously provided promptly. Would highly recommend. It also took awhile to schedule due to it being a smaller job but no real biggie read more

We recently had to remove two dying trees from our over grown backyard. A friend recommended Pope Tree Service and we're delighted that they did. They were so easy to work with, very professional and carefully explained everything that needed to be done. I called several other tree companies and none were as responsive and their cost was very reasonable. I highly recommend them! read more
