Excellent work! 7 Canary date palms trimmed including pineapple shaping along with the complete removal of a Canary Date palm that had the weevil. Trees were located near pool, planting beds and house so careful trimming and clean up was important to me. Pope's team was very skilled in removing the large tree and careful not to damage lighting, pavers or irrigation. Tarps were used to cover pool areas and planting beds, roof and gutters were cleaned after service - literally there was no clean up for me after the job. The pineapples were shaped perfectly! If you have ever seen one done poorly you can appreciate the perfection of their work. Price was not the cheapest but not the most expensive quote I had. Bruce was very knowledgeable and knew exactly how to remove the beetle infested tree. This was the best tree trim I have had on my property in 19 years! read more

Great logo, trucks, and the guy who came out to quote me was knowledgeable and friendly. Very professional! But, REALLY expensive. Seems like a really good company if you can afford it. I have maybe an acre and a bit more, most of it big boulders that don't need clearing. They don't have a drone so couldn't see what they couldn't drill down on from google satellite. Bummer. I was actually impressed with all four tree service companies I interviewed to remove one of the gigantic beetle-killed Canary Island date palms. But the fact that Pope stood out speaks volumes. I would give them 6 stars if possible. Their excellent equipment was exceeded only by an amazing team. While one person climbed the trunk, moving easily but safely around the tree with a chain saw dangling from his belt, he lopped off the fronds, then cut the huge trunk into sections. Each section was safely guided to the ground with ropes by the team. Everything was ground up on site. Including the stump. They cleaned up the job site as if it never even happened. Popes crew cam into our neighborhood and cut a bunch of trees. They look like broccalli or something now. Like big poodle tails! Took away ALL PRIVACY FROM THE ROAD. Why ?? to get paid for cutting? I tried to talk to the guy up in the man lift cherry picker asking, why are you cutting them like that!? The trees did need work and had a lot of deadwood , and he actually got in my face telling me he is the expert. BUT, The trees look stupid now! AND there is still a bunch of deadwood! They are all stripped up from the bottom and now very heavy on top! Just ruined! Arbo;ists? certifedd? what ever! who cares about titles when you just ruined our trees! Then threaten me!. Pope said other tree companies probably did not contact me because they are having problems finding qualified helpers. Anyway, Pope did an excellent job and I would highly recommend them. So back in early February we had Pope come out and give us a quote for the trimming of ONE tree and nutrient injections. We agreed to pay $1200 for this service. On 2/4/21 two men came and trimmed the tree partially. The nutrient specialist called about a week later to set up his appointment and then failed to show up. He then made another appointment and was late. We had paid the entire invoice on 2/4/21 and our check was cashed 2/9/21. We called Pope again on 4/5/21 to find out if they were coming back to finish the trimming and never received a call back. About a month ago we received a call from their "new" nutrient specialist asking if we were satisfied. We explained what happened and that we were not satisfied nor were we interested in doing additional work with the company. Today we get an invoice from them saying we owe an additional $374. Do NOT do business with this company. They lack any professionalism whatsoever, can't keep track of their own books or employees and don't know the definition of "follow up." read more

I called Pope Tree service out to get an expert opinion on a few large Pine trees and Pepper trees that I was looking to get shaped/thinned out. They promptly responded and provided a very professional service. The entire crew worked in unison and they were a very efficient crew of 4. They had two guys climbing trees and the other two guys running the chipper/cleaning up. They were in and out quickly and did an excellent job on my trees. Just had a large oak tree removed from my back yard. It was so sad to remove it, but it was into my foundation and plumbing. Difficult access and lots of potential hazards including neighbors windows and yard. Their crew utilized "safe" hoists and tie offs, etc. brought the chipper. they provided their insurance certificates before the job after I asked. The price was lower than the other bids and crew was polite, respectful and cleaned up my property and neighbors property extremely well. Only downside was their crew didn't bring enough water for themselves and it was an extremely hot day. They never asked me for water. I never checked till late in the day (my bad). So I obviously provided promptly. Would highly recommend. It also took awhile to schedule due to it being a smaller job but no real biggie read more

I live in Ramona in the San Diego Country Estates and I cannot recommend this company high enough! Chris their estimator was quick, responsive, helpful, and wrote a very fair cost estimate to remove 7 pine trees and do a mighty prune job on a huge pepper tree. They scheduled the job within a few days. A crew of five showed op promptly at 0830 with a big boom truck and a giant chipper. Feli headed up the crew and what a great operation. They knew what they were doing and they got right after it. Man they worked hard all day and did a terrific job! Really paid attention so there was no damage to anything on mine or my neighbors' property. Feli had to climb the big pepper to drop the branches that because they were going over into my neighbors' yard. He and the ground crew worked together to successfully drop the large branches in an area next to the fence in a way that nothing got damaged. So refreshing to see a group that obviously cares about what they are doing and works very hard to give the customer a great product. If you want a high quality job at a very competitive and reasonable price this is the outfit to call!! If I need these services in the future they will be the first ones I call.
