I have a pine tree that hasn't been trimmed in over 14 years. Eddie gave me a very reasonable price for that and trimming an overgrown hedge. We had several large overgrown Eucalyptus trees that we wanted gone. He gave me an estimate that sounded very reasonable for removing the trees and also lacing a California Pepper tree. We purchased a house in Lakeside in early August. The previous owners had neglected the many trees on the lot. We had the potential of having a beautiful view, but unfortunately it was being blocked by dense foliage. On Monday, I contacted Leatha and Eddie, owners and operators of the company. By Thursday, Eddie and his crew showed up early in the morning and began work. First, they carefully cut down a palm tree that was literally 2 inches from a beautiful brick wall in the front yard. Next, they ground the stump, so that you can't even tell that there was ever a tree next to the wall. Then they went to the backyard where they cut down a tall tree inside a brick planter that was 6 inches away from an RV garage. Again, they ground the tree down and you can't even tell there was ever a tree in that location, with no harm to the structure. Next, they cut down a 50 year old Pine tree that was growing horizontally on a bank. Finally, they topped and laced an Oak tree. Eddie's crew were very careful in making sure that there was absolutely no branches, leaves, or pine needles left behind. Eddie is very knowledgeable and recommended that I wait until November before we lace the other Pine trees, because of the possibility of Pine beetles damaging the trees. We now have a very beautiful view of the Lakeside countryside thanks to the hard work and expertise of Eddie's crew. All of this work was done meticulously and at a very reasonable price. I am going to quantify this by saying I didn't actually hire Viewscape, as they don't service my area. However, I am awarding them 5 stars for their customer service. They are working with me by giving me useful advice as far as what to look for in a tree service, bonding/licensing of prospective companies, and even offered to get an idea of what my costs might be from pictures of my trees. Additionally, they promptly answered my questions, and are helping me prevent another oak death due to the spotted borer (insect that kills majestic oaks...boo) with information. Finally and foremost, they are compassionate in that they helped save a kitty who was stuck in a tree for almost a week, I don't think they made any money in doing so.
