I was so excited about this class! Unfortunately life happened, one of which my MIL was in the hospital. There was absolutely no way I could go. I emailed and they refused a refund and could not guarantee a future class for me to attend. I was so disappointed. They offered a DYI kit. Which is acceptable except the designs and color schemes they offered are EXTREMELY limited. I liked two designs offered but not the colors they were offered in. I am currently in the middle of this negotiation that has now been going on for weeks. I have asked to talk to a supervisor, and all I get is a email saying the person has talked to one. I have now requested half my money back, as this seems the most fair considering the extreme lack of customization that is paid for when booking the class. I do realize the overwhelming experience of ppl is good when they are able to attend, but the customer service is severely lacking and the emails are very passive aggressively placating. Over all considering my experience so far I would say this company does not care about their customers and the customer service is very lacking. Also, I am attaching a pic of a review I found on another site. So they will not confirm future classes, will not refund for emergency situations, offer extremely limited kits that come with insufficient supplies and are not packaged to handle transport. read more

5 stars for the fun experience making a candle holder or lamp while at the store and the yummy Turkish tea and Turkish delight, 3 stars for the mostly unhelpful instructor who raced through the instructions and didn't give us any real hands-on instruction, and 1 star to the take-home plaster kit given that has the incorrect sized water cup, causing a very messy, liquidy plaster that didn't fully stick to the glass, failed to fill in the crevices, and leaked under the mosaic pieces. Also your money is for the experience and to spend time with friends as the finished product is nowhere near the value of what you pay. Cheaper to buy a nice lamp or candle holder at Home Goods if that's what you're looking for! Some important tips: Choose your mosaic pieces first for your design, as it is very time consuming as the pieces are hand cut so they are inconsistent in size and shape. Most of your time is spent doing this. Go lightly on the glue for the mosaic pieces and do small sections at a time, but make sure you cover the entire space with glue so there's no gaps underneath any piece. Otherwise the plaster will leak under those pieces causing a mess. Allow the glue to get a little tacky before sliding the pieces into the exact spot you want because they will slip and slide while the glue is new and goopy causing a lot of excessive glue strings all over your pretty mosaic tiles that are hard to remove. For the beading stage, use ALL THE GLUE!!! Also, press them in so they stick. Otherwise they will pop off when you get to the plaster stage. For the plaster, use only 3/4 of the tiny cup they give you as a full cup will create a plaster that is way too liquidy compared to the instructional video. They say to start wiping after 1-2 minutes but the plaster stays wet for at least 15-20 minutes and if you wipe too soon it causes pockmark holes all over, especially the beaded areas so let it dry more first before wiping. When using the sponge to wipe off excess plaster, use the tiniest amount of water and use your fingers as the best way to truly remove plaster as the sponge mostly smears it around. read more

I would highly recommend the lamp mosaic class. I went the day after Thanksgiving, I was the only one there and I was surprised the call wasn't cancelled. I was happy it wasn't because it was my actual birthday. Deborah was an excellent instructor. She wasn't hoovering like some teachers like to do which makes your project theirs lol she gave me just enough room to create and not apply too much glue. The ambience was very comfortable, there was so much around that could inspire you on colors and designs. I am going to have to bring my family to enjoy this experience. read more

I had so much fun making our do-it-yourself Turkish lamps! It was relatively easy and I'd totally do it again. It was such a relaxing and creative experience for some "me time" or with a group, and the end product is great quality! You schedule a session beforehand online. There's ample parking in the industrial plaza. The class is about 2 hours long, and the instructor breaks down the steps and walks around to help. During the class, they also serve tea and Turkish delights, which is a nice touch and keeps it festive. You don't get to finish your lamp on-site since it needs to finish drying, but the next steps are pretty simple and they have a YouTube channel to guide you. They also offer take home kits, but I personally prefer the class because you get to choose your own design and colors for your lamp. read more

This is a fun activity. We arrived late to the class as we had it in our calendar to start at 2:30, but the correct starting time was 2:00. Nesibe, our teacher, graciously allowed us to join and helped us with directions, and we caught up. All materials to create a beautiful Turkish Mosaic Lamp are included. We were served tea and Turkish Delight, but our favorite treat was the Turkish Coffee and Baklava that was available to purchase- delicious! There is a gift shop as well. Came in with a friend to build some lamps. Eye -catching just walking by the windows. The instructor was very friendly and helpful. Pretty straightforward concept. You are given different steps in the process to think about and play around with the design. 1.5 hr will fly by so fast. You get a cup of tea and a Turkish sweet/candy? at one point in the process. Me and my girlfriends have always wanted to design our very own Turkish lamp so we decided to make a little Sunday Craftday trip out to Tustin for this. We had an absolute blast! The instructor was very helpful and even though sometimes it gets a bit stressful to arrange the glass cut pieces...it does feel very therapeutic as well. We were able to complete all the steps in under 3 hours. The instructor brought out Turkish tea and delights for us which was a sweet treat. This is the perfect girls day out activity, a great date idea, and will make a fun birthday celebration too. They're currently running a Black Friday sale at the moment so take advantage! The San Diego location was good but the class itself was rushed, with not very much direction, and we would have been fine with just buying the lamp and DYI at home. The tea and Turkish treat was a joke. They didn't even tell us what the tea was so we didn't even know until we were leaving that it was 2 tbsp of tea at room temperature. Came here with a friend for a Thursday afternoon class. Not surprisingly, there wasn't a whole ton of people so my friend and I got to enjoy a table to ourselves for the lamp decorating class. We both enjoy creative projects so this was a treat for us! We just had one instructor leading the class. This is our first time, so I don't know if one is the norm or if there may be two when it's full. There's not a whole ton of direction on what to do, just tips on glue application, using the stencils to plan out your decoration, and bead application. Personally I'm fine with that as I thought it was nice having the freedom and time to yourself to just plan and decorate. However, if minimal guidance isn't you're thing, then I suppose it may not be the class for you. But it truly is fun to do if you enjoy just making stuff and spending time with friends/family/your partner if they're a long for the ride! As for the value of the class, I personally think it's reasonable. Again, if you find value in doing creative projects, especially with others, taking the mosaic tile lamp class is super worth it! I would definitely like to do this again some time. read more
