My first impression was, "Trying something new and local." I took the traditional matcha bowl pottery workshop and it was such a cool experience. Eric was a great instructor and walked us through the steps, providing guidance and hands on instructions for each of the attendees' pottery pieces throughout the class. It was a great introduction to hand-built pottery that was fun for a first-timer but also challenging enough to keep it interesting. I've been trying out different pottery studios in OC and this place is definitely in my top faves! The studio feels so homey and the workers are so kind. I did the 2 hour wheel and free build session. Our instructor was so patient and kind. I would love to come back here again. What an amazing gem to the Irvine area. This pottery/ceramic studio opened 2 months ago in a historic area of irvine. I took the hand "sculpting" matcha bowl making class with a friend on friday night. The class we took was instructed by Eric who was attentive and a great teacher. This was my first experience doing pottery, and I highly recommend it to anyone else just starting! It was very beginner friendly, and our instructor Emily helped teach techniques to use on the wheel and gave a bit of extra help shaping whenever needed. Olomana Studios is located in Old Towne Irvine, but once you enter, you're greeted by a studio you can tell the owners put a lot of effort into making a comfortable space. The studio itself was very cozy, with some nice jazz playing in the background while working on our ceramics. The session I was a part of was an hour and 30 minutes long, with 30 minutes being for on the wheel, another 30 for hands on clay, and the last 30 split between cleaning and some time to work on our hands on projects. Heather was an amazing and patient instructor for the one time beginner class! We had one of the owners teach us the hand building class. He shared how the studio opened and it was a fun time. I took a matcha bowl class at the new location on Sand Canyon. The new space is so charming and cozy, a perfect spot for pottery studio. Christina and Eric were so nice and so knowledgeable. I've been doing ceramics on and off for 5 years and have never felt more welcome at a studio than here. It feels very inclusive and conducive to making art. My girl friends and I wanted to try a new activity for early Galentine's and decided on doing the one time pottery class. It was so fun! We got to make one wheel spun item and create our own handmade item. Our instructor Victoria was awesome! Super friendly and sweet. She helped so much and gave great instructions to follow. Had so much fun learning to make pottery with Eric and Christina! We had a slightly larger group, so they split us into two -- one group made cups by hand, the other on the wheel, then we switched. Both were so fun, and the wheel was challenging (I'd never done it before) but they were super patient in explaining and guiding us through it. We picked glaze colors at the end and are waiting eagerly to pick up the finished fired and glazed pieces in a couple of weeks! read more

My girlfriend and I took the class to make some coffee cups, and it was a blast! We will definitely be back! You definitely don't need any skills prior to the class. We have not received our cups yet, and we will do so in 3-4 weeks and we understand that there is a chance they may break while baking in the oven, but it was worth it, regardless. For my birthday I was determined to find the best pottery class in the OC. Luckily, I stumbled upon Olomana Studios! Our class was led by Eric, who was a great instructor and very easy to get along with. He was very thorough and explained every step well and made sure to take extra care when someone needed additional assistance. The class is very small and private, and you can truly feel the passion for ceramics! Eric was very willing to answer any questions and encouraged us to branch out or try new things with our pieces. All four of us saw how much Eric enjoyed his art and how easy it was for him to share that with our group! We all left feeling a newfound appreciation and love for ceramics. We will all definitely come again and keep Olomana in mind for any future events! They were incredibly affordable and such an amazing experience, I recommend Olomana over bigger studios any day. There is a price difference if you plan on choosing a bigger ceramic to paint. Once you choose your ceramic, staff will tell you how to choose your paint colors and how many layers are needed for a certain color to show. They're very thorough at making sure you get what you need. My girlfriends and I spent about 3 hours here. It was very fun. We got to catch up with each other during this period. Picking up our ceramics did take about a week. They'll hold your items for you for up to 60 days. Definitely a fun activity for all ages!

This was for a public class on a Saturday at around 4:30 PM. The class consisted of 8 people max and seemed to be all couples. All of the equipment was prepared like an apron, clay, pottery wheel, etc. We had an instructor that was very knowledgeable and explained everything from start to finish. Complex technicals were explained in layman's terms. We were given enough clay to create 3 pieces but could keep up to two. The instructor also frequently went around to check everyone's pieces and was able to troubleshoot as needed. It was a fun experience but be very prepared to get your hands dirty! The glazing portion was separate from the class. There was no reservation needed for that so I did it the same day that I went to see the ceramics. For parking, street parking could be hit or miss depending on the time. I'd recommend coming early to have ample time to find parking. Overall, I enjoyed the experience enough. It could have been perfect if the staff here remembered to follow up on when the ceramics were ready for pickup. I am happy with the end result though.

This is definitely one of the top 10 Montessori schools in Orange County. Refine a few operational details, and they have the potential to easily break into the top 5. Areas for Improvement: Teacher rotation does cause disruption in student learning. While staffing shifts are common, the school needs to do a better job of getting ahead of these rotations and being proactive about the transitions. Furthermore, the administration should establish a structured, year-round channel for parental feedback. While daily communication from individual teachers is fine, an administrative feedback loop like bi-annual parent surveys would allow families to share insights on scheduling logistics, administrative clarity, or classroom dynamics. The app updates and photos were so appreciated, especially when she was fussy with breast milk and transitioning to various foods. In many instances Ms. Julia was able to get my daughter to drink more milk than I could even do at home. In addition, my daughter's egg allergy was taken seriously and I am so glad the school provides NUTRITIOUS healthy food that is home cooked!
