Back together and helpful... like g'pa was!
Lori V.

This is all about service. I have a very old but sentimental night light that was my grandfather's. It fell apart. Ocean Stained Glass put it back together while appreciating the sentiment and fragility. Local businesses are always the kindest. 10/10

Excellent customer service. Very helpful. I needed to match some glass and Val found it. The glass here is far more elegant or classy than hobby lobby. If you are spending the time and effort to make something special then it is worth a few cents more to have it look right. Her prices for glass/lead are very good compared to larger glass shops.

My fishie! Beautiful.

This was so much fun!! I am so happy that my friend and I got a Groupon for this :) so this had to be booked well in advance. I think I booked it about two months in advance? This is incredibly popular, but now I can see why. My friend and I got there at 4pm. Val welcomed us in & got us checked in. Then she did her magic with walking us through the entire procedure! Along the way, she was sweet & patient with us. She showed us one thing at a time, & she gave us little tips along the way. The whole thing really was therapeutic, especially with the Christmas music playing lightly in the back. After about 2.5 hours, we finished our fish, & they came out beautifully! It really couldn't be done without the help of Val. It was fun, unique, and comforting :)

Mosaic glass with grout filled in. No grout sealant yet!

Had THE best time!! This was such a fun and interactive class! My friend got us classes to do the beginners mosaic glass class (2 parts: first part roughly 3-4 hours, second part, different day 2 hours), and I can't begin to tell you how much we learned about this type of art class! We first had to pick any type of design we wanted, and then we got to BREAK the glass into tiny pieces (totally would be a good class to put out your rage into). We formed amazing little pictures with help from Val, who was AWESOME! She made us feel so comfortable and was so patient with us while we were learning this new art work. Any type of creativity level will be good cause in the end, even if you think you did a horrible job, it turns out wonderful! As stated, the class is broken down into two parts, the first part, you would break the glass and then glue it to the stationary object. Then after a week, you would need to come back to fill it with grout. Then a couple days after you're down with that, you cover it with a grout sealant (which she lets you take home), and then fini, you have your master piece! I highly recommend this place!! It's small and intimate and perfect for you and a friend to take part in! The only downside to it is that the classes fill up really quick!! I got our Groupon in March (for my birthday), and I couldn't book a class til Aug! So plan accordingly! Will totally be back to try out the other classes!

Often times, Groupon offers great deals for people to be a bit more creative in life. Ocean Stained Glass has had promotions through Groupon in the past and I was delighted to see that one was currently available! Let me be honest, I did not know what I was going to be doing today. Initially, I thought that we would be mixing colors into a pattern to create a brightly designed glass object to display in the home. This was not the case! When I arrived at the studio, I was greeted by Val who gave me a quick tour of the place. I quickly noticed that she was well-organized! You won't have any trouble locating tools or supplies to complete your project. All glass pieces of various shapes and sizes are grouped together by color in small storage containers. She also has some binders on display so that you can select a pattern that you'd like to follow when creating your masterpiece. As you peer around the studio, you'll be inspired to see other students' work on display because they had unique interpretations of the same pattern but in different colors. Prior to getting to work, Val showed me some glass mosaic projects that were created by other students. At this point, I had a clear idea as to what I'd be doing today. I was given a 5 X 7 piece of glass in which Val had taped a copy of the pattern that I had selected to the bottom of it. The glass is transparent so you won't have any trouble seeing where you'll need to place and glue each piece of stained glass. I opted for a pattern in the shape of a cat because I wanted to design a project that would remind me of my cat that passed away earlier this year. I was told that I should anticipate spending between three and four hours in the studio. The entire process is time consuming because you tend to become meticulous as you work. You can select various pieces of stained glass to work with but you'll have to use the mosaic glass cutter to cut the pieces into various shapes and sizes. You end up placing small pieces of stained glass onto the 5 X 7 transparent glass to fit within the pattern. As it begins to take shape, you'll glue all of the pieces onto the transparent 5 X 7 glass to lock in your pattern. Once you have finished this process, you have to add a border to your pattern to make it stand out. This is a time-consuming process due to the intricate nature of the patterns and the size and shape of each piece of glass. Next week, I will return to finish my project! I will be adding grout into the small crevasses between the pieces of stained glass. I'm quite excited to see what the final project will look like because I don't have an artistic bone in my body. This was a new experience for me and it was a great way to relax and be creative on a sunny afternoon!

I Went into Ocean Stained glass with my mother, grandma, and aunt for a stained glass class. We all had such a wonderful day together and created some beautiful pieces we didn't think we were capable of making. (I posted a picture of my project.) The class was taught by Val who was very professional, a great instructor who explained things well, and who was very cool. I will definitely be back to make another stained glass project, or maybe I'll try my skills at mosaic. Who knows? I highly recommend Ocean Stained Glass for anybody who wants to get in touch with their creative side.

My sister drove from Utah to do this with me (she's very enthusiastic). We had a blast and took home a great memory and a little piece of art to be proud of. The owner is so kind and helpful. We will be coming back here for sure.

This place is a gem! Took a stained glass class with Valerie and it was amazing! She is so knowledgeable and friendly. My family had so much fun that the 3 hours flew by. Will definitely be back!

This is such a great place! Val is super talented and creates custom pieces of art for her customers. I went in for a mosaic class and had such a great time. I drove over an hour to get there and it's definitely worth the trip. It's the first time I created a mosaic and had a wonderful time learning a new skill. Val helps get you set up and comfortable with the process and she periodically checks in to see how you are doing. If you don't need help, she's pretty hands off and will let you do your thing unless you're stuck. Not only was I able to create a new piece of art, I chatted with the other customers and the owner, Val. It's such a fun space to be creative and social.

This place is amazing!!! I would recommend Ocean Stained Glass a million times! I had the best time learning how to make stained glass, it was a great experience and I would love to do it again. Super fun for anyone artsy and creative! I did a groupon stained glass class here and it was truly awesome! They made the class really fun and easy going. I was worried I would not be able to do this but it was surprisingly easy to pick up. They had provided me with an apron, which was really nice and unexpected. Although I don't think I would have gotten dirty but the just in case preparation was great. Not once did I feel like they were treating me differently because I came in with a groupon, which does sometimes happen at other businesses. I love what I made and had tons of fun. I'm very happy I discovered this place!

My sister was visiting from Australia, my mom lives in Whittier and we are in Redondo beach. We all drove to Long Beach excited. Our grand total was $440.00 We got there at 3 pm and our instructor Katie didn't even introduce herself. She had run out of sugar for the scrubs and essential Oils, her essential oils were so cheap and watered down. The ass ended at 3:32 PM. So we were shorted 58 minutes. She didn't even have proper containers for us and used tape to hold our scrub together, which we warmed her it won't hold and she disregarded our concerns. The scrub ended up leaking all over our car. We complained via email to Shelly the owner , who offers us a make up class. We advised her logistically it would be too hard to get everyone together And asked for a refund . She refused and gave us back $120 which in my opinion is a joke. We had asked for 50% minimum. Our whole evening was ruined because of this horrible company. There are so many other better businesses please do not give your money to this establishment. I wish we had been warned and should have realized when after 4 years of being open they only had 15 reviews on yelp. Save yourself the time, money and hassle

A business with a big heart…read more My children started art classes in Jan 2020 in one of Fibo studios, Little Picasso (grade K-1) and Core level (grade 2-4) respectively, because of its convenient location and class availability for each of my children. We liked the studio in our area with friendly staff. They both enjoyed the classes even though I talked my older one into taking the classes so that I could have some alone time while they were both in the classes.LOL. My only concern at that time was how much art knowledge, material techniques and personal attention the classes at Fibo would offer to the children compared to a small art studio with a long waiting list. The Black Friday in March was the last in person class they had before the studio had to close following the closure of the schools state-wide. In a couple of days after the closure of the studio, I was amazed that Fibo rolled out great online art classes, free for all the Facebook fans. Like all other distance learning, I've learned so much about the curriculum, the talents and passion of the Fibo team as well as the struggle of a small business keeping serving the community during the unprecedented difficult time. Curriculum: It was truly an eye opening experience for me to learn about the design of the curriculum of Fibo through the online classes. It can't be done without the belief and vision of the owner, Miss Jasmine, about nurturing the artistic side of each child and showing the children that art (history) is a language of humankind. Through Fibo's art history series (introducing high school art history AP class with art projects to elementary students, alphabeta serie to primary students) and around the world serie, I've especially experienced art as a vehicle of nurturing children's knowledge, awareness and appreciation of the world (natural and social) around them, in addition to the creativity and grit. Through Fibo's reading series, book reading (primary)/discussion (upper graders elementary) accompanied with an art project is such an inspiring model for bringing art and academics together seamlessly. Through Fibo's daily draw and creativity series, basic art knowledge, including color theory, perspectives, rule of 3rd, composition, different material properties and techniques, is introduced in an enjoyable way with a lot of room for creativity. You can get a sense of most of the series by becoming a Fibo village Facebook member or subscribe to Fibo Kids Academy Youtube channel. You can find free class videos or 3-day rental of recordings at $5. Fibo team: I do not know Miss Jasmine personally except of a few message exchanges on Facebook group page and during a few adult online classes Fibo kindly offered to the parents back in July. Miss Jessica and Miss KC were teachers of my children's in-person classes. Irealized how talented they are both in art and as a teacher for various age groups until they taught the online classes. My children also love Miss Ashely and Miss Kiatlin who also teach many online classes. Miss Jasmine values the attention and feedbacks to each student and has specifically provided the platform for Core/Master students in online classes now. As a small business owner in a difficult time, she is also proactive and sincere to work with parents to provide the best possible services to suit all parties' needs. As a mother of two young children, she is a role model not only for the children but also for the adults. It's easy to sign kids up for various activities, but it's not easy to find a team of teachers with big hearts. We are so lucky to be part of the Fibo community and hope you will enjoy it as well!
