This is one of the pieces I'm restoring at Visionary Artware Gallery.

I just made an amazing discovery in my own neighborhood!! Visionary Artware Gallery is a great gift shop... and more...on Broadway, in the Bluff Park Neighborhood. I needed some advice and help restoring a mosaic piece made by my mother about 50 years ago, so I stopped to see if this was a business that could assist me. I was amazed to find a wonderful gift shop nestled into the rooms of this California bungalow....each room filled with treasures! I also met Mina, the owner, who teaches classes in mosaics in the converted garage. Several students were busy working on projects. We discussed my "project" and quickly determined that Mina would be able to provide the guidance I needed. If you need an interesting gift, garden decor or want to learn a new skill, this is a great place to check out! I've added pictures of my restoration project. I am so thrilled with the results! Thank you Mina for your guidance and assistance

If you're in the area, this is a great place to visit and shop, if you're looking for a unique, quirky gift item. It obviously used to be a house. The store is very welcoming. The front garden is well taken care of. They sell some great stuff. Once you step inside, your eyes have quite a bit to take in. They have colorful clocks on the wall. There's jewelry at the front register area. There are various Buddha's. The outdoor area has fun planters with various succulents. Free street parking.

I took a class and poke my index finger. Nobody's care when I reported to Mina. The staff pointed me to the first aid box. I was bleeding. Why don't they provide gloves or give student some warnings? I have scheduled an appointment for surgery to remove the piece of tile that stuck inside my finger.

Don't drive past! Stop, smell some flowers, shop in the boutique, pet the cat, enjoy!

What a lovely, lovely, creative, gallery, studio, boutique, garden, haven. It's so relaxing and filled with treasures. Knick knacks, candles, unique vintage, wall art. Most things for sale are much more unique than than you see in your typical "home decor" store. Take your time and go room to room in this large converted home-now-boutique... that's also a mosaic studio classroom. There's a garden outside with more art, lawn sculpture, plants and small furniture. I purchased four new drink coasters that match my new living room decor perfectly! As I continue to settle in my new home, I'll be back to buy more wonderful pieces and accents to help fill in my spaces. Highly recommend this cute spot!!

    The bathroom! Hand tiled!

I stopped by this shop because I have been working on a mosaic, and needed one area of it specially cut. I also needed some advice. I was a walk-in, and the owner, once she finished the class she was instructing, took time out of her day to help cut and place the pieces I needed to complete the project. I ended up purchasing more tiles for future mosaics, and made a number of purchases from the very cool shop in front of the workshop. I'll definitely be making a return trip to this gem of a shop! And WOW, take some time to look into the hand-tiled restroom!

Thank you Mina for your invaluable guidance and hands on instruction. You are responsible for the successful completion of this project.

What a hidden gem! This place has everything from outdoor garden decorations to unique and quirky gifts! You can walk around here forever and still find new things! Picked up an an awesome item to hang in the backyard and a really unique wall decoration for my house. Will be coming back here again especially for Christmas gifts. Make sure you spend plenty of time here because there are so many things to see! Staff is very nice and helpful and they also offer arts and crafts lessons ( more specifically mosaics and crushed glass). Never really been to another store like this so I highly recommend it!

    My almost finished stepping stone!

You absolutely will get your money's worth if you have a Livingsocial/Groupon type deal here. Three sessions of learning, laughing, meeting new people, enjoying candy and wine and meeting Mina, and I am now the proud owner of a stepping stone that I will one day buy a home for so it has a place in a garden. I really enjoyed the classes and really enjoyed Mina, who is a no nonsense, kind and patient woman who does what she loves and loves what she does. She makes you laugh and calls it like it is. Mina is just awesome. I never really got to take around the store since I was always there when it was closed, but I will definitely be back to either shop and/or take more classes. It was a lot of fun and totally worth it.

Super cute spot to check out, the ladies are nice :) they do hold classes here for mosaics i believe she said. They had tons of cool artwork inside and outside! Definitely check out the cool kaleidoscopes they have :D

    Most beautiful bath room ever!

I got my Living Social deal and totally enjoyed it! Mina, Linda and everyone there are very nice. It's a lovely gift shop with the mosaic art studio, relaxed atmosphere and snacks and drinks are provided. Don't miss the stunning bathing room, you have to see it! I was slow and Mina was very patient with me; she let me went back the other day to finish my work. Btw, I like that we were doing the wine bottle coasters other than the square piece, so much more fun to create something!

Took a Mosaic Class here and turned out this amazing piece on the first try! All the credit goes to our talented teacher Mina! Made you believe in yourself and taught you the right way! Super relaxed atmosphere- very friendly and fun!

My second mosaic artwork is done! I picked the summer-like colors this time, and I M happy with the outcome!

I couldn't help but going back for another basic mosaic art class when I learned that my niece will visit LA during her summer vacation. I felt that the sequence is movements of selecting, cutting and laying out tiles is still fascinates me though this is my second time doing it. I enjoyed Mina's instructions and helpful suggestions throughout the process. Thank you, Mina!

    Halfway done!

My friend invited me to join her for an evening of mosaic making. Little I knew what was in store for us... it was absolutely fantastic!!! Mina, the teacher, takes this seriously and with her wit, makes it so entertaining, you just don't want it to end!! She has beautiful tiles to work with and also, she is full of ideas/suggestions to make your job easy. Their store front has very unique gifts and they keep it so cozy, you feel like you are in safe place to shop, relax, and enjoy your time. I will be back!!

My sister was visiting from Australia, my mom lives in Whittier and we are in Redondo beach. We all drove to Long Beach excited. Our grand total was $440.00 We got there at 3 pm and our instructor Katie didn't even introduce herself. She had run out of sugar for the scrubs and essential Oils, her essential oils were so cheap and watered down. The ass ended at 3:32 PM. So we were shorted 58 minutes. She didn't even have proper containers for us and used tape to hold our scrub together, which we warmed her it won't hold and she disregarded our concerns. The scrub ended up leaking all over our car. We complained via email to Shelly the owner , who offers us a make up class. We advised her logistically it would be too hard to get everyone together And asked for a refund . She refused and gave us back $120 which in my opinion is a joke. We had asked for 50% minimum. Our whole evening was ruined because of this horrible company. There are so many other better businesses please do not give your money to this establishment. I wish we had been warned and should have realized when after 4 years of being open they only had 15 reviews on yelp. Save yourself the time, money and hassle

What can I say. Our family loves Westerly! Our eldest started at one of Long Beach's blue ribbon…read moreschools, but with the huge classes we decided to take a look at Westerly and we couldn't go back. Since then all our kids have thrived in their Westerly experience. It starts with a sizable campus with a beautiful grass field for sports and activities, newly constructed learning studios and the amazing arts village. What a great place to learn. Then the passionate teachers and staff deliver a whole child program, with a better than 10:1 student/teacher ratio. The Westerly program includes: Curriculum and instruction - Enthusiastic teachers with a well thought out curriculum and small class sizes enabling teachers to adapt the curriculum to the needs of your child. Technology/STEM - Westerly recently hired a full-time Director of Instructional Technology to enhance an already strong technology/STEM program throughout the curriculum. Think coding in class, 3D printing, science and engineering fairs, etc. Visual and performing arts - Incorporated in the curriculum is an annual school-wide play lead by the folks at TKTC. The visual arts program is second to none with the kids being exposed to public arts projects, ceramics in the new ceramics studio, mixed media, painting, photography, etc. I wish I could take the classes myself. Wildcat, the after school program is a blessing. Our kids beg to go to Wildcat to play with their friends, work on yearbook, take film, dance, music, robotics and other after school enrichment activities. Athletics - A legitimate, well-run PE program with enthusiastic instruction and basketball, volleyball, football teams throughout elementary and middle school. Music - Every child takes both general and instrumental music as part of their Westerly experience. Spanish - Kindergarten through 8th grade all the kids get introduced to the Spanish language through a dedicated Spanish instructor. Leadership - This is quite possibly one of the most amazing parts of the curriculum. Continuing on the theme of whole child education the Director of Student Affairs leads an amazing program that goes so beyond student council, creating leadership opportunities for so many children. Programs like student council, district representatives, green team, etc., start in Kindergarten and the kids grow in responsibility as the children grow themselves. Each child also gains leadership responsibilities as a student mentor, where each older student is paired with a younger student as a mentor. Service learning and field studies - As the kids grow in maturity so do the service learning and field studies. Our children have enjoyed trips to Catalina and other local camps, but the highlight of the program is a one week trip in 8th grade where the whole class travels to Nicaragua to conduct a service learning project, practice their spanish, and are exposed to a different culture and way of life that they are used to. Community - Westerly is a place where without question every family places a priority on securing a great, well-rounded education for their children. Being in an environment like this is so fantastic. Independent school is not cheap, but in our minds it's the best gift we can give to our children. Westerly also offers significant financial aid support, so if that is an issue be sure to discuss your situation with the school to see if they can make something work for your family. P.S. This may sound like a paid ad, but it's our true feelings about this place. It's really special.
