I haven't worked with cut paper collages since I was a kid. Agnes provided the most beautiful array of colorful, textured papers to work with. She sets up the workshop with just the right amount of guidance and really creates a space for play. I really enjoyed creating layered pieces with organic lines and woven details. After the Zoom, my partner and I continued to create collages late into the evening-it was so much fun! Agnes is both highly creative and organized. I'd highly recommend her workshops! read more

My husband and I had an amazing time in a special marbling workshop with Agnes. It was a really fun, relaxing, and meditative way to spend an afternoon. Agnes did a great job guiding us and at the same time leaving us the space to create. We surprised ourselves with our creations - including colorful fans and small zippered bags. Crave Workshops led a workshop with my team of about 20, while we were all working from home. It was such a great experience for us - we had a blast while being creative and practicing a new art form. Agnes met with me a couple months before the workshop and listened to my goals carefully and explored options with me. We picked block painting as the method and then Agnes worked diligently to source a high-quality kit, customize it, and ship it to everyone's addresses. Are you crafty? I am. I love trying new crafts. The satisfaction of learning something new while making something with my own hands is deeply enriching. Crave Workshops is the perfect place to get your craft on. Even if you're not the artsy, creative type, Agnes' studio is a great place to get your feet wet (and your hands blue, as I'll explain later!) Agnes is approachable, friendly, and an excellent instructor. She doesn't overwhelm you with too much information (which can be dizzying when learning a new technique) yet provides you with plenty of support and guidance. I took a shibori workshop with her, and it was so fun learning about this ancient Japanese craft. What's great about shibori is that there are no mistakes, and the patterns that emerge on the textiles are incredibly stunning. Agnes studied with a shibori master in Japan, so she truly knows her stuff. She's also studied textiles and printing in India, and her design sense is spot on. If you take the shibori class, you will work with indigo dye...not to worry, though, your hands won't turn blue because Agnes provides gloves to wear:) Agnes recently put together a Crave wellness retreat in Ojai with the purpose of combining art, nature, and wellness. I attended and it was one of the best experiences I have ever had! The retreat was located on a gorgeous estate in Ojai, and we got to enjoy healthy meals, hike, and do several craft projects involving shibori, eco-dying, and katazome (Japanese printing with stencils). I love how Agnes provides opportunities to learn, craft, and rejuvenate. It's so important to take time for oneself, and for me, Crave Workshops provide a wonderful opportunity to do just that. Agnes led a group of my friends in an alcohol ink workshop and I can't recommend it enough. I like the idea of doing art but honestly my products are usually laughable. This class was totally different. Agnes showed us some different ways to make the designs but she also encouraged us to just play with the colors and to see where that led. We made a few versions on paper (that can then be turned into greeting cards) and then moved on the coasters. I had so much fun during the whole process. Agnes is great at explaining the process and then stepping back to see what you can create. I love Crave Workshops! We did the Shibori workshop for my bachelorette party and it was the perfect way to spend a day with friends! The space was super cute, there was plenty of space to relax and chat, and the provided lunch was delicious. Agnes was a lovely teacher and everyone had a great time experimenting with their designs while sipping rosé and nibbling date cake. It's the perfect way to be creative and let your friends get to know each other. Best of all, the beautiful blue shibori textiles make a great backdrop for the inevitable bachelorette selfies! This was my first Crave workshop/retreat. It was the most excellent combination of extraordinary things: the sublime setting, the gorgeous food, the beautiful crafts and the inspiring people who all came together to create this elevated experience. Agnes, with the help of Cheryl and Kendra, seamlessly curated the ideal weekend art retreat. I cannot convey to you the specialness of the setting. Nestled into the hills of Ojai one could not help but sink into the sheer beauty of the space. The itinerary struck a perfect balance between easy and relaxing time spent enjoying the stunning location, food and company while also taking part in a number of innovative nature inspired crafts including painting with wild inks (divine), color dyes, cyanotypes, and eco printing. Each of these creative experiences was delightful and felt perfectly suited to the space and idea around the retreat. Not to mention, they produced stunning results. I tried the shibori workshop with friends as a way to hang out while doing something different. I'm not a very artistic person and therefore was not sure what to expect at first. It was surprisingly very fun and very beginner friendly. Agnes had prepped for everything, and I was very impressed that she had actually handmade some of the supplies and materials from scratch herself in order to ensure the quality. Basically I just showed up, had no idea what shibori was, but at the end learning a lot about a different form of cool art, and brought home many beautifully made art pieces that was made by myself, within just a few hours! The atmosphere was very mellow and relaxing. There were stencils provided, but we were encouraged to try different ideas and to be creative. All the pieces came out very nicely, in spite of the fact we were all first timers. It's a very positive and fun experience for me. I highly recommend Crave Workshops for everyone, especially people who aren't normally well-versed in arts, and want to be surprised by their inner artists :) read more

Super pleasant experience! My whole afternoon spent at Crave Workshop was full of great fun. Agnes was very knowledgeable about Shibori and been quite innovative on introducing various materials for our design work.
