The owner's dog is also super sweet. I painted a pottery, didn't make it from scratch but picked the unpainted one from the shelf and paint it. They have special colors that can make very pretty texture and requires no skill whatsoever. It's very relaxing and fun. They'll fire it for you in 1-2 weeks, then send a text for pick-up. It's a long drive from me but the pottery I got is really worth it!

I contacted the owners, Terri and Sarah, and they were so incredibly gracious! They invited me over to check out the space. I really like the layout of this art studio because it's divided into different sections/rooms. One room would be where the kids do their sketching, and then another room is where the kids would take their sketching to go paint. The third room is where you can put all the food for your party and they have an awesome patio area that's right next to the food room where parents can also hang out while the kids can sketch and paint for the instructor in the other rooms. There were 19 kids total and it was so nice not to have the parents stand behind their kiddos the entire time to watch them paint because there's no where to go!! All of the parents told me they had NO IDEA this place existed. Because it's on Artesia , which is quite a busy street that people take to get from one place to the next it's really not the kind of place that people stroll around on. Sarah and Terri will work with you on what kind of theme/ sketch to guide the kids. It was an amazing party! Everyone loved it! And my daughter said it was the best birthday ever! Yay! Success! SBAD focus on a different topic/theme each day so the children have plenty of time to be creative and really think about what they would like to make. She also LOVED the teachers who are not only skilled artistically, but are genuinely kind people who make all the children feel welcome and at home. He loves her and her class and the fact that he keeps going back every Saturday for an 1.5 hrs away from his video games is testament to this place. I must note that my son did not love his first teacher and class, like I said, he can be difficult, but the director was incredibly patient and considerate and after listening to our feedback, switched him to a different class and teacher, which was much better suited for him and he's been loving it ever since. Rafael has opened her eyes to the beauty in details around her and created a space where she is free to explore different materials and methods. While she has produced creations from impressive macro photography images to mural-sized abstract paintings (no one believes the one hanging in our home was done by an 8 year old), the process of centering herself and tapping into her creative flow is the true gift of this program. She is a shy girl who has found confidence through art. She looks forward to her weekly class and always leaves peaceful and happy. We are truly thankful for this unique place.

My son started at the Coder School at the beginning of February, and he has been loving it…read more Before his first lesson, I reached out to ask some questions and I was immediately impressed by the manager's (Randy's) compassionate, validating, and collaborative response. My son got to try out a class with Coach Roy (who was wonderful!) to see if it was a good fit for him, and now he takes lessons weekly with Coach Justice (equally fantastic!). The whole staff is warm and friendly, and they accommodate to each child's needs. Coach Justice provides great structure and challenge for my son, while also allowing him the agency to be creative in what he's learning and working on. My son is engaged and focused the whole hour, and is really proud to show us at home the progress he's made each week. FYI, if this applies to you: they are vendored through Harbor Regional for self determination for social rec. Highly recommend!
