Alyce is an awesome art teacher. She is very patient and funny. I have no experience and my partner has a fair amount of art experience and she was able to help us both on keep pace while on a video lesson! Highly recommend if you want make something you are proud of no matter what level of your experience. Check out her studio and bring out your creative side! Thank you so much Alyce!

I signed my daughter up for these classes and after two months of coming weekly, I have to say I'm impressed. My daughter is taught by Carly and she is extremely sweet and helpful. Typically my 8 year old daughter is timid and shy, but she warmed up to Carly rather quickly. The classes are an hour and a half long so you really feel like your child is getting what you pay for as far as time and productivity. The studio uses high quality materials and a complete lesson plan that guides the kids into learning techniques at a gradual pace. My favorite thing about the studio is that they teach the child visually on a small paper above your child's work, this way the instructor doesn't touch or alter your kid's art. It makes it more about the child and you know your kid is talented when you realize they did everything on their own. They also allow the kids freedom to choose what to draw within the realm of the lesson plan, which makes it more fun for the child. I think this is a great studio and set up. We will be here for the long haul. *I am also a teacher and I love the style that they use to educate my child. It's very developmentally appropriate.

My daughter (7 yrs old) has been going to Alyce's art Studio for several months now and really enjoys her time with Miss Maggie. I really like that there's a curriculum/lesson plan and they can work at their own pace. They use quality materials and I am blown away by the work that comes home. My daughters school doesn't offer much of an art program and I'm glad Alyce's studio is there to supplement this part of her education. Thank you Alyce for bringing together such a wonder group of talented teachers.

Alyce's is my daughter's happy place. All of the teachers are wonderful. Probably the best testament to their ability as art teachers is their Instagram page -- they get so much out of every student, no matter their level of talent or their age. I have seen incredibly impressive things come out of really little kids. Alyce's has changed our lives for the better; it is a gem.

I contacted the owners, Terri and Sarah, and they were so incredibly gracious! They invited me over to check out the space. I really like the layout of this art studio because it's divided into different sections/rooms. One room would be where the kids do their sketching, and then another room is where the kids would take their sketching to go paint. The third room is where you can put all the food for your party and they have an awesome patio area that's right next to the food room where parents can also hang out while the kids can sketch and paint for the instructor in the other rooms. There were 19 kids total and it was so nice not to have the parents stand behind their kiddos the entire time to watch them paint because there's no where to go!! All of the parents told me they had NO IDEA this place existed. Because it's on Artesia , which is quite a busy street that people take to get from one place to the next it's really not the kind of place that people stroll around on. Sarah and Terri will work with you on what kind of theme/ sketch to guide the kids. It was an amazing party! Everyone loved it! And my daughter said it was the best birthday ever! Yay! Success! If you're planning a birthday for your little one! BOOK THIS PLACE!!! Cheers!!

My son, aged 5 (who I was worried wouldn't be able to sit still), learnt so much about different artistic methods. SBAD focus on a different topic/theme each day so the children have plenty of time to be creative and really think about what they would like to make. My daughter, aged 7 loved going each day and came home with some stunning pieces of art. She also LOVED the teachers who are not only skilled artistically, but are genuinely kind people who make all the children feel welcome and at home. This is the only camp (ever!) that my son and daughter have attended and been very grumpy that I only booked one week! Needless to say, we will be returning for the Thanksgiving camp!

While she has produced creations from impressive macro photography images to mural-sized abstract paintings (no one believes the one hanging in our home was done by an 8 year old), the process of centering herself and tapping into her creative flow is the true gift of this program. She is a shy girl who has found confidence through art. She looks forward to her weekly class and always leaves peaceful and happy. We are truly thankful for this unique place.

It's different than any other art class she has taken. They give guidance, but don't tell the kids what to create. Love it and HIGHLY recommend this class for kiddos who love art.

I purchased a class via glasshouse.ws on 9/12. I received no class gift certificate and zero communication until 9/26 after emailing Glass House Studio twice. Bryan apologized and said he had been very busy, so everything seemed to work out and I received some options on time frame of when I could schedule class for the next month. After a bit of phone/email tag, we connected and on 10/4 we scheduled class for 10/23. I was asked to call and confirm the week before to make sure that time was still good, as Bryan said he had been very busy. No big deal, happy to do that. I called to confirm class on 10/17, and left a voicemail. I hadn't heard back on 10/18 so called again and sent a text asking to confirm class on 10/23. By the night of 10/19 I hadn't heard anything. Feeling a little uncomfortable with the lack of communication, and not wanting to drive to Hermosa Beach to potentially be turned away, I asked for a refund via email. On 10/20 I called and received no response, but texted to ask for a refund and got a reply. I was told that the situation was "ridiculous" and I would receive a refund minus a $50 scheduling fee. One week later on 10/27 I had not received the refund, so I reached out to ask for an update. I received a refund minus $50. The glasshouse.ws website makes no mention of a fee, and I'm not sure why I'm the one losing $50 considering the difficulty of working with this business. Glasshouse.ws outlines their refund policy in detail, even differentiating products vs classes, with no mention of a $50 fee. Verbatim from glasshouse.ws: "There are no refunds provided for products. The "product" are items for sale on website. The "courses"  are classes offered by Glass House Studio.  Class gift receipts require at least two week prior scheduling to redeem.  Items shipped that arrive broken require return of product to exchange for equal value.  The purchaser is responsible for return delivery.  After sixty days of purchase of classes no refunds are accepted.  Classes can sometimes and without notice be shortened and or rescheduled.  We will make every effort to accommodate the loss of value by offering an additional date. All quotes or bids on products require a deposit to begin working.  This deposit is always non refundable."
