My 6 year old loved the spring break camp at Art Zone! She loved the slime, paint splattering, etc. We will be back for their summer camps!

I really enjoyed the Friday open studio and a day of morning camp for my kids. They really encourage artistry and just doing what you think is fun, no matter how long you want to keep doing it. My kids love painting, sculpting from clay, stamping with paint and glitter and then doing it all 1000 times. They loved going with different friends that made each session feel unique. It's perfect when you don't want to clean up a mess but lets your kids be creative. I thought I might get a call for a crying kid, but the staff are pros. read more

This little place is awesome! I have nothing but great things to say about Art Zone Hermosa Beach!! Their admin is wonderful and treats everyone like family. The staff all have a kind and caring nature and are very patient. Their enthusiasm for art, teaching, and creativity is so obvious! They have a great selection of arts activities. Such a welcoming place. Wish it were larger to accommodate more people at once, but they do a great job with the space that they have. The location is perfect, a stone's throw from PCH. Parking is a challenge. If no parking in the lot, you can always park across the street in the School of Dance & Music lot, next to Big Lots. Enjoy! read more

We threw my daughter a bday party at Art Zone and had the BEST TIME! The space was prepped and beautiful! Everyone helped me in with the food and drinks I brought, so helpful and lovely. The kids had a blast painting, playing with clay and doing finger painting. They also loved the water room as well as the play room! This was the perfect spot to host her 7th bday. The Art Zone is a preschool and play space for 18 months through I would say 5 years old. They have set play times where you can come and it's open studio. They put out tables with various arts & crafts for the kids that they get to take home. The teachers are awesome and sort out the projects as your child does them so all you do when you go home is pickup their bag and take it with you. Think creative projects like clay with beads, trucks rolling down a paper after dipped in paint, necklaces, art with cookie cutters, gooey blue stuff to stick things in and cut. They also have a room in the back with water & clay where kids can splash and play and a playroom with a bridge, dress up items and a bridge. You can be creative here! It's a bit pricey but worth it. I hear their preschool program is really wonderful too. read more

What a fun and creative children's art studio! I would bring my toddler to their open studio sessions and art camps every chance we got when her preschool was closed. There are numerous painting and craft stations, as well as a play room and a water room. With so many activities that foster a child's imagination, it's hard to get them to leave! We even had our daughter's 3rd birthday here and it was a hit! The two employees who were managing the party were friendly and kept the event running smoothly. They expertly handled every activity and detail of the day, allowing us to interact with other parents and play with the kids without having to worry about a thing. If I could give zero star, I would. After getting two toddlers ready and drove over, we couldn't even participate in anything. Their website is unreliable. It shows classes that are available online, but to be told they're not once you get there. It's very frustrating. The girl who greeted me was really rude and unaccommodating. I asked whether the website is reliable and will be updated, so I'll know in the future. She actually replied, "I'm not telling you anything." What?! Good concept but they are not in control of the kids at all. Some of the kids that get dropped off for parents night are little heathans. We did a quick drive by to check up on him and you can see them throwing things at each other through the big side window. Needles to say my kid has refused to go back. read more

I came here to Art Zone in Hermosa with my two daughters they had fun but I gave them just 2 star ,because it was dirty especially the play room, the room un clean and all the kids stuff and toys are very dirty and old even I couldnt touch them, I was worried about my daughters if they will get sick.. also when the kids finish doing their arts the workers leave the paper out for a little bit and put them in the kids special bag, so all of the picture get close before getting dry .. + they are pricey 15$ doesn't worth it.. read more

This review could have went the complete opposite because of a minor scheduling mistake at Art Zone but ended up being a blessing in disguise. The owner Laura, is amazing, and really helped resolve the issue and she really saved the day for us and a birthday party at Art Zone at the park down the street from the location (I think they should have a package like this for future parties). We ended up having Art Zone come to a Glen Anderson park for a birthday party instead of being stuck inside, and it was perfect! The kids had a blast, they painted little stuffed animal dogs, finger painting, playing with goo, and Laura painted the kids faces. There wasn't a mess because everything was on white sheet paper that we just threw away afterwards and the kids didn't get as covered in paint as we thought they would. Art Zone is a perfect place for a kids party, and we can't tell you how happy we were to go with them. It also feels good to know this isn't some kind of corporate business; the owner really does enjoy what she does, and it really made our 5 year olds' birthday special. We'll definitely be back for more fun with the kids. read more

A friend had her son's birthday party here, and so I'm basing this off a private party. The location is small, we actually almost missed it as we were trying to find the place. Also their parking lot behind their location only has about 3-4 spots reserved for them. We ended up having to park on the street behind them and walk over there. There were about 10-15 kids at the party and quite a few adults. They have a small area where the food (pizza, salad, and chicken wings) were set up and about 3-4 coolers with waters/drinks as well. It was a bit crammed, but nothing major as most of the parents were busy following their kids around. So for the 10-15 kids, there were 2 or 3 workers that walked around and put all the kids art work in paper bags with their names on them. They had 3 areas where the kids could do art projects, which were painting, clay and another painting exercise that consisted of using glue, paint and glitter. They also had a table that contained slime, an area that had a play mat and were able to build train sets and a small playhouse as well. Another cool room they had was a water room, where it had a fountain that has water coming out of it constantly and play things that the kids could pick the water up with, and etc. Another nice thing is that they have a washer and dryer on site so that you could clean your child's clothes before you left. That's pretty awesome. This place was kinda far for me, as it was in Hermosa Beach but I would come back. The workers were very nice and helped the kids do art when they asked for help. read more

I sent my daughter here for the Wed. Art classes. She had fun doing art but she said she was uncomfortable most of the time because a boy said he was going to kiss her and he wanted to marry her. My hope is that they would watch the kids more closely and interact with them more to see what the conversations are. I understand they are kids but Im sad my daughter who loves art is scared to go to Art Zone because she doesn't want to worry about that boy. I truly believe teachers should be engaged during every class to prevent this kind of thing from happening. I know it sounds silly and innocent but my daughter didn't feel the same way. My daughter had a lot of fun at Artzone. I gave it three stars because there is a room filled with old stuffed animals that have to be have dust mites and old costumes. My daughter loved this room. But I felt it was a distraction from the art. She can dress up for free at home. I also had to ask the staff for more supplies a few times and was given an attitude like I was bothering them. I think the person who wrote the negative review forgot what it is like to be a kid! Painting with Q tips is fun! The "weird play doh stuff" is called Goo (or Gak) and I can't wait to get my adult hands on it EVERY TIME I visit. Seriously, every time I visit, my kiddo and I spend at least 30 minutes at the Goo table alone. THIS PLACE IS AWESOME!!!!! Yeah...it's not pristine here, and I for one am happy that my little one is flinging paint around Art Zone and not around my kitchen. My daughter goes to preschool here and I couldn't be more pleased with the non-violent, empathetic, loving approach all of the teachers bring to the classroom. We took our (foster) son to the Friday parent's night out. He was a little apprehensive. When we arrived, we were immediately greeted by the staff. They were super nice to him and he immediately felt more comfortable. After the event, Matthew was beyond thrilled! His first comment was, "I have to go back there!" He said the staff were so kind and helpful. In addition, he came home with a cool sculpture and an awesome Valentine's Day piece of art for me (his foster mom). The center is fun from an art perspective but it is so dirty inside. During open art time, the preschool hours, and after-school care, there is a play area for the kids to enjoy in between working on various art projects and the toys are dirty, broken, faded, and overall just gross. The kids are invited to try on costumes and they are mostly torn and dirty. With the high fee that is charged when you bring your family of multiple children, I would think they could replace the toys with newer items. read more

I have been brining my 3-1/2 year old daughter here for two years. She loves it, and if we go a week without visiting, she prompts me by asking when we will go again. The staff is amazing and I love that we can do all the messy stuff that we just can't do in our small home. My daughter hits each activity whenever we go: Dress up, Gak (gooey "slime" that for whatever reason kids love), clay, easels, mud room and the craft table that rotates different projects each week. And at the end of each session there is story time and a goodbye song. While $20 per visit can sound pricey, it actually averages out less per hour than most other stuff (music, my gym...). Also, you can buy multi-visit passes and monthly passes at a discount. And the monthly pass is a super-great deal - Unlimited studio time for the entire family. My daughter loves it here! I literally have to bribe her to get her out. I stumbled across this place online while I searched for a venue for my daughters 3rd birthday. She is almost 5 now and we return every now and then for Friday Night "parents night out". You can drop off your kids for 3 hours and they get pizza and ample crafting time! This is a great location for a birthday party, or for open studio. I love the Parents Night Out also. The staff is warm and very into your kids. I feel comfortable that my child is in a loving/caring environment. Just remember once the kids go in its so hard to get them to leave. read more

Not only do children get to be totally free and express themselves, but the staff are there to encourage the parents to just let go. The best experience your child will have is when he/she gets to do art without any direction or coaxing from an adult. AZ also offers a lot valuable classes and educational nights for parents. Art Zone West LA location. My daughter can not stop talking about Art Zone. We were introduced to this place a year ago by a friend who had her daughter's birthday party there. We have been hooked ever since. The staff is very friendly and they are very good at what they do. Recently my daughter had 3 weeks off from school so we signed her up for winter camp at Art Zone. It was worth every penny. She had an amazing time. When my little girl comes home from Art Zone she has a bag full of art projects that she so proudly shows to us and anyone who happens to be in the room. My son absolutely loved this place. We were so bummed that the mud room wasn't open as that's the part I thought he'd enjoy the most but even without it he didn't want to leave! Usually, after an hour in a play place he is ready to go home but not this time. He loved painting on every easel they had, making clay art, playing with gak and a cornstarch, water, paint mixture. They had many different stations with plenty of stuff for multiple kids to work on. Lots to go around. They also have a little room with stuffed animals and toys and a wooden playhouse for those who don't want to do art or for littler ones. Oh and bonus you get to keep everything they make... just have to write your name on it and they hand you a paper sack at the end full of your child's masterpieces. Not satisfied. The place looks very creative, lots of fun stuff to do! However the kids mostly entertain themselves. We arrived at 9 for a pre-school art class. The whole hour until 10 kids were just hanging around by themselves, doing their own stuff. Lady at the reception was preparing smth, doing her own stuff etc. I kind of expected art projects to be more organized, but it's not the case. I took my 5 year old daughter for a class....i did arrive late and decided to just pay for the 45 minutes. I was shocked you had no change nor would you accept credit cards....so your way to fix this is to have me go get change?? I would have come back there plus i would have wanted to pay you the $4 i owed, had you not insisted i go get change because you are really are not set up to do business, like most other businesses.
