I have 2 kids that have attended Children's Journey from newborn to TK. My youngest will be going to TK this Fall and we'll all miss seeing the teachers every day. The staff is incredible and so caring. Staff turnover is very low and a vast majority of the teachers have been consistent in the 6.5 years we've gone there. Our daughter attended CJ from 4 months old all the way to 4 years old, when she started TK. We joined them in the depths of the pandemic till now and through all that time Elaine and her team have been professional, communicative, and just plain wonderful to our daughter. She always loved her teachers and they loved her. The facility is quite big and busy with a lot of kids, a big outdoor play area, and, conveniently, a big parking lot. We absolutely love Children's Journey!! Our son started here at 6 months and has grown up surrounded by the most caring, patient, and genuinely wonderful teachers. From day one, they've created such a loving environment, one where he's always felt safe, happy, and excited to learn. The teachers are not only incredibly kind and warm but also so smart and thoughtful in how they care for each child. Each time our son transitioned to a new classroom, they made it such a smooth experience, giving him (and us!) time to adjust and making sure he felt comfortable every step of the way. Their patience and kindness during those moments meant so much to us. I've always felt supported as a parent too, the teachers and staff are wonderful about communicating and answering every question I've had, big or small. It's rare to find a daycare that feels like an extension of your family, but that's exactly what this place has been for us. Children's Journey is the absolute best place you can send your little one too. After having a horrific experience with an at-home daycare (in which the caretaker told us our daughter would not do well anywhere except at home with me) we thankfully found Children's Journey when my daughter was 7 months old and she stayed there right until she started TK! She thrived, she learned, she felt safe and she felt loved here. The staff are all warm and attentive and really show genuine care about all the children here. The teachers become family and we've never had any negative experiences to report on. Our daughter to this day talks about how much she misses this place! She rotated through every classroom and had almost every teacher in the school. Each teacher took such great care of her and was as loving as if she was their own. We are so grateful for children's journey. Our family relocated to the South Bay and the school welcomed us with open arms. We had young boys in the baby room and the 2 year old class. The teachers helped potty train our older child and worked with his whole personality. Every night- he said good night to "teachers and friends." He felt so welcome and at peace. Our baby (last of 4) is loved and thriving. He's eating solid foods and transitioning quickly from bottles to cups. Since this was our first kid, my husband and I toured 12 preschools in the South Bay Area. We knew in our gut that Children's Journey was the place for our 2 year old daughter. She's only been there for 5 months and we've seen tremendous growth! They take excellent care of the kids, and listen to you if you have any special requests. I have been with Children's Journey for 7 consecutive years, and my children have thrived in every room, experiencing the care and dedication of many wonderful teachers. We are eternally grateful for the patience, love, and kindness they have shown our kids. The open concept for toddlers and older grades is fantastic; I always enjoyed seeing what the older children were up to when mine were younger. There are no secrets here! The outdoor play space is brand new and in excellent condition. My son played so hard every day on the trikes that we had to buy new shoes every month due to the wear and tear--proof of the fun he was having! My daughter attended CJ from 18 months to 4.5 years when she transitioned into TK, and she and loved everyday of it. The teachers at all so loving to the children and give them such a warm and kind learning environment. They kept my child safe and fulfilled everyday. Lots of art projects and play make learning fun! Soledad Perez is a horrible instructor who encouraged and participated in the bullying of my daughter when she attended preschool here. I had to withdraw my child and am considering a civil lawsuit against her and this school, how dare you treat a toddler like that. Children's Journey would be wise to be a bit more selective with who they hire, as far as I can tell Soledad Perez doesn't even have an Associate's Degree and only briefly attended Long Beach City College. read more

My 3 year old daughter and 7 month old son attended this daycare and we all had the best experience! My daughter was there since 2020 and my son started 2023. My daughter always looked forward to coming to school and learned so much. All the teachers are so caring and involved in such great ways. I was sad to leave this school since we moved out of state, but for anyone in the South Bay- I highly highly recommend this school/daycare! Both of my children attended this amazing daycare/preschool and we were here for about 5 years in total, including throughout the pandemic. I can't express how much this place means to me. The management is top notch, the teachers are amazing, turnover is low, programs are well organized, communication is excellent, protocols are enforced, security is high (someone almost always at the front to greet you, locked doors) and my children were both extremely well prepared for kindergarten. It's not easy to be a working parent and trust someone else to take care of your children but I never had to think twice about leaving my kids in the capable and competent hands of this school and the teachers here. They are very welcoming from day one and keep the babies stimulated with a variety of activities. We started our baby at 3 months and she's always happy there. Our son had such a great experience here. The teachers genuinely care about the kids and fill each day with an assortment of unique learning activities like painting, craft making, and toddler yoga. There are also tons of educational toys, instruments, and equipment for the kids to use. The ownership & staff are always friendly and responsive, which helps foster a sense of community along with the regular holiday celebrations and theme weeks. My daughter and son both went here for the infant and preschool class. They both enjoyed it every much and always had smiles on their faces. The teachers are great and really care about the students. My son was in the infant class since he was 3 months old and was always very well taken care of and the teachers did a lot of sensory activities with him and art projects with him. I felt he learned a lot and already started crawling and pulling up at a young age of 7 months. The teachers were very caring and engaging. My daughter was in both the 2 and 3 year old class and they taught her potty training. She did a lot of great art projects, had a lot of outdoor play and learned a lot and loved her teachers. The director Elaine and associate director Rachel are both super nice and helpful. The only negative is they don't offer hot lunches but hopefully they will in the future! We are sad to leave as we are moving to another school that is closer to our house. read more

My kids have been at Children's Journey for several months and they love it! All of the staff are wonderful and I appreciate the diversity of caregivers and students. The energy is always positive and my kids love the fish tanks and bunny. The price is fair and much less than some of the other places we toured in the South Bay. They recently had to move locations, because the old location is being converted to a public school, so they are accepting students and we didn't need to get on a waiting list. The teachers are great with potty training and teaching to share and pick up. I love that my kids are always bringing home art that is part of a learning path. The administrative staff is very responsive. We love Children's Journey and highly recommend it to any family looking for quality affordable childcare in Redondo Beach. read more

My baby went to Children's Journey from November (at 4 months old) until March when we moved out of town. We loved the infant room with Ms. Maria, Ms. Jackie, Ms. Daisy, and Ms. Katrina. I had a fantastic experience at Children's Journey and thought of the care-givers there as family. Shortly before we began the program in mid 2011, the center brought in a new directer, Elaine, who in my opinion has really guided the center towards becoming an excellent place of care for children. I have seen her add toys, playground equipment, host special activity days for the children, like Halloween and summer water days, change out staff when necessary and in general run a professional but nurturing environment. I found her to be extremely practical and straight-forward when it comes both to teaming up with parents to care or children and managing her staff of care-givers. Both of my children attended the program beginning around 5 months in the infant room. I cannot speak highly enough about Angela and Esther. I know my kids were loved as I saw them offer the same generous care to every child in their arms. We also loved Maria and Lupe in the crawling side of the infant room - also extremely competent care-givers who were very attentive to the kids' needs. By 1 the kids were on to the toddler room which is a great class. The scheduled activity and amazing teachers, Lupe, Maria, Melinda and Mama Chang are really tuned in to this age and kids like mine, who are social and curious in nature, can really excel in this room. We also experienced the pre-school room with Ms. Luz and Ms. Anna which was also FANTASTIC. The curriculum mixes play with educational activities and my daughter really enjoyed her time in this class. Overall, the program was really good for us and offered us just the right amount of support that we needed. read more

Choosing child care is one of the most stressful things you can imagine; but children's journey makes that experience a happy one. We enrolled our little one at 3 months old. We pick her up everyday with a huge smile on her face and pictures she's made with her loving care givers during the day. The day care is very clean, safe and happy. The caregivers care deeply about the babies that they watch and take time to know likes and dislikes of the child. We pick our daughter up and not only are we provided a written report of her feedings, sleeping schedule and diaper changes; but we are also provided little funny stories or happy things that happened during the day. My daughter is now 6 months old and is passing all her milestones with flying colors. She is learning from the other babies and is already developing social skills. The director and the assistant director are also very involved with the children. They know all the kids and understand their needs at different ages. Our son was at Children's Journey from 3 months-20 months when we moved away from the area. As an experienced teacher, I was really impressed by the level of care our son received. The facilities are not shiny and new, but there is excellent outdoor space and lots of toys to keep kids happy. Let's be honest, what makes for great child care are the caregivers themselves and the staff at Children's Journey is fabulous. First of all, the director and assistant director, Elaine and Kara, are friendly and helpful. In the infant room, Esther, Angela, and Nelly took excellent care of our son. He was surrounded by patience and love. Esther loves her job so much and takes great pride in her work. She became like a family member to us. In the crawler room, Lupe and Maria were incredible at balancing all the needs of the children. They always had a smile on their faces no matter what. In the toddler room, lots of fun crafts, outdoor time, reading, and a good balance of structured vs. non-structured activities kept our busy toddler happy all day. Ching, Lupe, Maria, Melinda, and RonNe provided excellent care and had amazing attitudes. Ching and Lupe were so caring and calm in the mornings and made the transition really easy on our son.
