There's something so calming about being by the water while you're creating. The class was really well run and beginner-friendly, but still felt like you were actually learning something (not just going through the motions). The instructor was patient, helpful, and made the whole process feel approachable, even if you've never touched a wheel before. Overall, it was such a fun and relaxing way to spend a few hours. I'd definitely go back, and would recommend it to anyone looking for a creative activity with a really beautiful setting! Also they validate parking!

It made the whole experience even more enjoyable. Highly recommend this class for anyone looking to try something new, have a fun date, or just get creative. We'll definitely be back!

One of the best parts of joining as a member is the extra attention and guidance you receive from the owner, Patty--she takes time during your first week to review your goals and special projects, which makes such a difference. The classes are outstanding -- and affordable! You can explore everything from making handles, soy sauce vessels, and teapots to learning how to throw larger pieces. The class sizes are never too packed, so you actually get personal attention while still learning in a relaxed, fun group environment. Whether you're learning centering, trimming, or glazing techniques, the instructors are incredibly knowledgeable and patient. I've learned more here in a few weeks than I did in months elsewhere. My husband and I took a semi private class here on a weekend, I forget if it was Saturday or Sunday…read moremorning, but we each paid $80 and had a two hour class. Our teacher, Megs was great, but could have explained the process a bit better. She more showed us and had us follow by example, sometimes jumping in and taking over for us when things got out of hand, like our clay being totally off center and wobbling horribly on the electric wheel. We both made two ceramic pieces, but had to pay an additional $10 each to have those fired in the kiln. The $80 we paid covered the one piece we were allowed and the extra $10 was for the additional piece we made that we requested to be fired in the kiln. I didn't like how we couldn't come back and fix up our pieces, like sand it down and glaze it. I was really looking forward to glazing our pieces, but we could only look at a wall full of color choices and write ours down to have it painted by someone else and fired. Full-Circle said they would call us in about a month to come pick it up. It's been a month, and they did just email us to pick up our pieces, showing us a photo of both of ours. Unfortunately, we couldn't pick it up before Hanukkah, and my husband wanted to gift his mom a handmade ceramic piece, but it wasn't done in time. We really like how close the studios is to our home. We could have walked there but left the house late that morning, so we drove. We got lunch at the taco place next door afterwards. We had free street parking that day so it must have been a Sunday. We enjoyed our pottery class and would pay to be members, but it's too expensive, so a single class will do for now.

He was engaging, entertaining, and genuinely captivating. He shared that his grandmother was a Girl Scout, which motivated him to engage with our organization, and that personal connection made the experience feel even more meaningful. He began with a lesson on glassblowing outside by the kiln (and other hot oven-y stuff). What I appreciated most was how much information he shared in such an amusing and accessible way. He is dynamic and held the attention of both the girls and the leaders. We learned so much about the art of glassblowing and the artisan himself, experiencing the craft in a very personal, first-person way. (He even let some of our girls assist him.) At one point, he transformed a bowl into a cup and then into a vase in less than a minute. It was mesmerizing! We then went into the studio to work on our own creations. What was both scary and exhilarating was that, after going over the safety rules and receiving some instruction, we were largely on our own. Wes didn't stifle creativity or prescribe what our creations should look like. Instead, he encouraged us to work through questions ourselves, which left plenty of room for us to experiment, explore, and simply "play." The activity itself was absolutely wonderful. Wes provided a very generous amount of glass, and I truly felt like we had way, way more than enough material to enjoy the experience without worrying about running out. There was so much to choose from, and the girls had the freedom to make the experience their own. This activity has my highest recommendation. Wes is an exceptional teacher and a creative muse who knows how to educate, inspire, and give people the confidence to create. I will absolutely be coming back with my older Girl Scout troop! Ryan was a fantastic instructor: I had a blast and learned a ton along the way :) I went in planning to make the smallest size, but once I got there and saw the terrariums, I decided to upgrade to the next size up, and I'm so glad I did. Everything was provided, including the jar and all of the plants, so there was nothing to prep or bring. Ryan even sent us home with special water for our terrariums and let us know he's happy to provide more if we run out, or that we can use a water conditioner to make tap water safe for the plants. I love that he set us up for success after the workshop ended.
