It was fun and amazing experience! first time I did a terrarium. Its so relaxing. Once you see it grow its soooo exciting esp when you open the glass, the smell of nature. LOL. Super low maintenance after few weeks, the best! Thanks Ryan for the tips as well! Highly recommend, either your doing it alone or with someone. Thankfully Ryan gave us directions for the parking and how to find the place (its in DTLA).

Building my terrarium at Ryan's studio- October 2025

Had a such a fun and informative time with Ryan. Such a great way to spend an afternoon. Love my terrarium! It's grown so much and it's fascinating to watch them grow.

Ryan's class was very fun! It was cool to be able to make and personalize our own terrarium. We went last Oct 2025. Pics show the terrarium when we first made it vs. now (March 2026). It's nice to have it in our home to look at and see how much it grows (& easy to care for too)! I definitely would recommend.

Class was at 4 on a Friday afternoon. Ended up being a packed class with pleasant people. Paid $165 for 2 (4x10) terrariums. Concept: really fun especially for those who enjoy plants. Ryan was very knowledgeable and ran the class smoothly. We were out by 530. At the end of the class you are given a foam to separate/provide aeration,.a small water bottle to squirt/ water your terrarium. Things to appreciate: Ryan is thorough with his instruction. You'll renowned a text a couple of hours before your class with tons of details and lots of after care instructions, a map of where to park, and many other details. Please don't arrive early as he will not let you enter. I'll be bringing my daughters back to build another terrarium.

If you're looking for a really cool, unique experience, check out Jungle Box Studios! I've always thought terrariums are so cool but never knew how to do them. This studio offers classes on how to build terrariums and will teach you all the ins and outs of matainence. It's a really cool setup that lets you start from scratch and all these really cool rare plants and trinkets to your personal little terrarium. Would recommend for anyone really. If I had kids I'd take them there for a fun hands on day, or even alternatively I'd take my grandma there for the same. A fun activity for any age to fulfill the mini green thumb in anyone!

I was signed up for Jungle Box Studio Terrarium making by Renaissance Club and I truly enjoyed this experience! Directions given to us said the coffee shop, which was confusing because actually the location is down the stairs from the coffee shop and around two corners! Upon entering the shop you are transported to a tropical mini forest. The instructor is so calm and passionate about the craft and he spent the time explaining every step by step slowly and easily for everyone to follow along. He told us about how he imports various plants from various countries and the time it takes for them to grow a certain size. I was so excited by how beautiful everything looked I decided to upgrade my terrarium by one size and I'm so glad I did, I got a pretty sparkly crystal choice and I was able to add 4 different plant types into mine. My very favorite plant is the one that appears green until you shine the light onto it, and then it has a beautiful blue bioluminescence glow. We were given instructions on aftercare, for the first few weeks we must keep the glass propped open for air flow and water every couple days, then after a few weeks we can switch to once a month watering. Despite having a green thumb, for some reason I was nervous about messing this up, but so far my terranium is looking happy! They also sell plant lights in case you need one, I purchased one just in case, but so far mine seems to be happy near the window I placed it, so i ended up using the plant light for a whole different plant haha. I swear I have already seen tiny growth on one of the plants! One of the other things that I thought was amazing was that the instructor did mention that if you are going on vacation and worrying about your terrarium needing care while you are gone, he can also babysit! Someone even stopped by and dropped theirs off to him while we were in class. It is a true example of the passion and love he has for his beautiful tropical plants.

I'm so happy to have experienced this! I highly recommend supporting this small business/studio. It really is run by one passion person, Ryan. He does all the social media, plant care, and really has a mind to grow his business through manufacturing kits and etc. We signed up for 2 dome building classes, it was a group class but intimate setting ( like 3 parties max). Located in an odd apartment structure on the base floor. He also does group gatherings (birthdays/corporate). The most memorable part was his message to look at the ground and notice the smaller plants in the surroundings vs just the sky or what's in front of us. He also has a newer crystal workshop where its like dome, but bigger and with additional crystal / temple. Ryan sends out a huge text message to cover all your basic needs from parking to directions to aftercare. He opens the shop a little before the time, so feel free to come early but expect some wait. There are bag hooks and the seating is low to the ground (in case for elderly). Ryan used to be an architect so fun fact, he made all the furniture in the studio ( and it looks so good!). You start off by choosing trinkets and he narrates the whole process + offers some help. Overall he is pretty hands off and talks more about plants, his journey, answers questions. I learned a lot about terrariums and how to care for them and I enjoyed learning about his journey into building this business. Soup for the soul. He has some structure already made for you, so you do more of the fun stuff of planting. He gives 3 plants - 1 main propagation, some moss, and special ferns. His plants are mostly imported so rare. He added some discovery within the workshops so we could be more interested in plants and also housekeeping tips ( addressing false rumors of watering on moss only/led lighting/ moss needing clay to attach/ mosquito bit magic). The clay is also great asmr. Its important to not be too much of a perfectionist in this process, as it does end up looking fine. He does help with the foam part (great crimp strength), you stick clay on after so be sure to rip off good chunks as that's what the plant needs to be planted. I recommend having some wipes on hand in case the base needs to be wiped or fingers. Special tip! Use the point end of the spatula to easier pack the clay into crevices. Overall, I thoroughly enjoyed the time and didn't feel too rushed. Especially at the end he did allow some time for touch ups. He does have multiple classes a day as its not a studio. Out of other craft classes I did, I felt a lot more at ease and assured that if I needed any help in care that I would have an expert. The ambiance inside is really relaxing and feels nice and cool. Its really heartwarming to support someone so dedicated! I'm trying my best to take care of my plant lol.

my partner and i had such a great time creating terrariums here! ryan is a super attentive and engaging teacher, it was wonderful learning from someone with such a rich knowledge and passion for plants. he walked us through every step and took time to make sure each student was on the right path. the terrarium-making itself was also super enjoyable and not too challenging with ryan's guidance, even for beginners like us. the result is gorgeous and we love having these as decor in our apartment! also, the studio is covered with plants and terrariums that ryan created and is lovely to just stop by and look at too. would definitely recommend!!

    My terrarium!!!

I had THE MOST FUN doing this workshop! Ryan is so passionate about his flora (all home grown) and has so much insight into how to nurture terrarium life and beyond. I had such a lovely time learning about making my tiny garden. I highly recommend this workshop for anyone, young or old, for groups or just on your own. He even keeps in touch to make sure all is well as your terrarium grows!

My girlfriend and I had soo much fun at Ryan's class. He was very nice and and kind. He was helpful answering all questions about terrariums. My girlfriend and I will be back for sure. Ryan also followed up with me after a couple months to see how my terrarium was doing. Thank you again Ryan.

I came here with my fiance. We had no knowledge about terrariums, how it works, what's inside, etc. We were looking for something to do together and found this cute little studio. Ryan is incredibly passionate about his craft, but he's not intimidating at all. He's very beginner-friendly and is very welcoming and willing to help out. He's always open to questions. You get to pick little acrylic figurines and plant leaves to put inside the terrarium, so you get to personalize it a little bit. Then he shows you step by step what to add and how to take care of it. This is a great workshop if you want to experience and learn something new by yourself, with friends or with a partner. Highly recommend and I'd do it again anyday!

Really beginner-friendly. Ryan is very knowledgeable and passionate about his craft which is infectious to all the attendees. It's such a wholesome and peaceful environment to be in the studio and learn about how these mini biomes function. I'd definitely recommend for anyone who wants to try something new. My terrarium is 3 months old and it's super easy to maintain. It's thriving and it's so cute to see new leaves pop up. Super reasonably priced too.

Booked Jungle Box Studio for my daughter's birthday, and it was a total hit! She's over painting ceramics and wanted something fresh, so we tried their 11 AM terrarium-making class. Ryan, our guide, was like a plant-whispering wizard--super knowledgeable, passionate, and patient, walking us through each step and plant backstory like a proud parent. The whole family had a blast crafting our mini jungles, and we're already eyeing their advanced terrariums. Unique, fun, and totally worth it--10/10 recommend!

    Compled terrarium is so cute!!!

To add to this, we needed to be buzzed in so we could enter the premise. Once we were inside, the ambiance changed completely and there were a couple of IG worthy spots to take pictures while checking in. We opted for the spinning art experience since my daughter is too young to partake in the more elaborate ones. Originally, we booked for 4 people but one person got sick so we asked if we could transfer the funds for that person for another experience since there are no refunds. Luckily, was able to contact them the day before and added the bunny paint pour over experience. Ozzie was our guide and he was super kind and gentle with my daughter. We were instructed to pick 5 colors and then we donned our plastic bootie covers, apron and gloves. We entered our designated art room and was blown away by all the colors on the wall. There was even a tire swing which my daughter was all about. The spinning art experience was a lot of fun and I enjoyed seeing my daughter embrace the paint. I think her favorite part was when she had free rein to paint all over the walls. Overall, we had a great time. Only down side is that it does go by super quick and is quite an expensive experience for one hour. However, we get to have a treasured memento which is ready for pick up about 5 days afterwards and we did have a great time. That being said, #noragrats!

When it was a bit difficult for my younger one, Debbie scaffolded the entire thing and made it possible for her to learn, feel successful, and feel like part of the group. We have also tried the finger knitting blanket class and now my 4th grader can make gorgeous blankets for friends and family. The sewing classes for 8+ are incredible. My eldest has loved going in to learn how to make tote bags, pillow cases, and a variety of other sewing projects. They also have camps, which we are eager to try someday. Most recently we hosted a very special birthday party here and I can share that it was incredible, lovely, and probably the most present I've ever been able to be at one of my kid's birthday parties, considering Debbie took on most of the labor! 11 children made pillows together, along with adorable rainbow keychains and they really had a blast. I was so impressed to see my little one sewing away on the machine with her dad next to her and the older kids jump right in.
