It is a maker's collective so there are various forms of art available for purchase. But, also, they have a variety of classes that I am definitely going to explore their schedule because I am interested in the Dubai Chocolate Bar class and candle making, among others. We had a bear model that we applied a base layer of paint to, and then were instructed to apply dripping layers of paint and use the brushed to splatter or spritz additional colors as effects. It was such a creative experience. I'm told they have other unique painting events, I imagine it's a fun group or team-building activity to do as well. I appreciated that the paint was water-based and easy to clean up (so we could avoid any fees with our Airbnb). A few logistical notes for anyone considering a mobile paint and sip experience: Consider wind when selecting a location for set up, the canvasses are not very heavy. From the moment we walked in, the atmosphere was warm, inviting, and filled with creativity. The setup was perfect and beautifully arranged with canvases ready for our class to paint. Autumn and her daughter were so kind to even offer to blow up some balloons for the birthday occasion. One of the other perks of this event was that you can bring whatever you want to eat and drink, which made the night even more special. My high school best friends went all out, catering my favorite Filipino dish, Pancit Palabok, alongside their own delicious culinary appetizers like steak crostini. Since I was celebrating such a milestone birthday, my friends from all walks of life contributed to the potluck feast. We also had Korean Kimbap, Greek hummus & chips, flaky Baklava, creamy Leche Flan, and so much more. The mix of flavors, cultures, and homemade dishes made the night feel even more personal and heartwarming. It was great coming back to Westwood Village which brought me instant memories while I was at UCLA. There is something definitely vibrant about Westwood Village and I love feeling its energy. As someone who didn't grow up near the ocean, I was apprehensive about taking a 6-day 101/103/104…read moreand 114 ASA certification course suggested by my spouse. But luckily Captain Anthony (aka The Happy Captain) helped to dispel any of those fears. His 30+ years of sailing experience and instruction got us up to speed quickly on the 38-ft catamaran "Untethered". In addition to sailing, we learned provisioning, how to anchor at mooring balls in Catalina, and spent 4 nights on board. It's hard to express they joy I felt at seeing the dozens of dolphins that joined us one afternoon. The man overboard drills we did offshore of Marina Del Rey were also memorable. We brought our own Starlink terminal and were able to familiarize ourselves with some of the navigation and weather apps. Ruth in the office made sure all of our logistics went smoothly. We had signed up a few months prior, with a promo offered during the 2025 Newport Boat Show. Big thanks to the team at Blue Pacific. Highly recommend!
