I took my parents out to dinner for her birthday. We picked this restaurant because of the variety it offered. I had a Piscojito Marqcuya (Pisco 1615 Mosto Verde with lime, fresh mint, and passionfruit juice) which was beautifully presented and tasted very good. My parents had a glass of Balduzzi Merlot. For our meals we had the Huancaina con Lomo (Lomo Saltado which is the perfect Peruvian/Cantonese fusion, wok stir-fry sauteed, onions, tomatoes, cilantro, wine and soy sauce served with Creamy Parmesan Cheese Risotto) and the Veggie Papardelle Salmon (Salmon with steamed vegetables and fried sweet plantain). Dessert consisted of Cuatro Leches (a soft, moist, and sweet cake that's soaked in four different milk flavors - whole milk, evaporated milk, condensed milk, and heavy cream) and Suspiro Limeno (a traditional Peruvian dessert combining the silkiness of a golden custard base crowned with a light and creamy liqueur meringue sprinkled with nutmeg). The Cuatro Leches was not too liquidly which we prefer. Our server Medalith was very attentive. She assumed we spoke Spanish so we did our best to communicate with her in Spanish. The restuarant appears to be very popular with families. It is located at the corner of an office complex and provides free parking up to 2 hours. read more

I took my staff for a department lunch at Aromas del Peru. I had been here once before and the food was very good. I call ahead and made reservation for a group of 10. The have outdoor and indoor sitting, we opted for indoor. The place is very nicely decorated and has a relaxing ambiance. The service was excellent, very attentive staff. Everyone was very impressed and happy with the foods presentation and flavors. The octopus in particular was excellent. Everyone was also very happy with the desserts. We had a rather large group (9 ppl).. but the food came out pretty quickly... and the staff was friendly and attentive. PARKING TIP: The restaurant is located on the nw corner of atlantic and ocean.. If you make a left turn (north) on riverside (next street west of ocean) and go straight ... you will see a huge city owned lot on the right-hand side.. way easier than looking for parking on ocean.. and I dont think ppl know it's there because it's not easily visible from the main streets. Our bad experience started with our waiter pushing us to order juice for our three year old son - something we didn't ask for and didn't want, but the waiter got our son involved and of course a three year old is going to want juice when offered. The juice arrives in a small Dole bottle, which would have been fine had not the check arrived at the end of our meal showing that we were being charged $7.50 for apple juice. No waiter should aggressively try to get kids to order expensive items just so that their tip will be based off of a larger bill. And if an item is unusually expensive for what it is - in this case a small plastic Dole bottle - the waiter should give customers a heads up ahead of time to make sure they are okay with the price. read more

Man this place treats you like damn royalty. As a Peruvian I have so much love for this place and I make it a mission every time I'm in Fort Lauderdale to visit this place. In fact, I went here twice when I was in Florida for the long weekend. Their restaurant is very very beautiful. It's fancy but not enough where you need to dress up super formally. The people that work there are so kind and respectful and they are simply amazing people who treat everyone like they're a critic. My skirt steak with risotto made me speechless. First to combine risotto with Papa a la Huancaina is just brilliant and then to pair that with a perfectly cooked skirt steak is why I order this dish every time I visit. We went there Saturday night April 11 around 6:20 PM as we were staying in Pompano for a vacation stay. We wanted a more exclusive restaurant experience for my friend's birthday. Although the location and food were good, the waiter we had that night was very disappointing. He never told us his name, never made recommendations nor telling us about specials about the menu nor drinks. It was like pulling teeth... We asked for water and he looked frustrated that we asked for tap water vs. bottled. He kept coming back asking if we were ready for drinks. Felt very pressured. At the end I asked one of the friendly girls if they offered some birthday desserts as I came back from the restrooms which she did, Thank goodness... The whole experience with the waiter made this event very dissatisfying. I went to the restaurant to try one of their octopus dishes. They have several that look great. I decided to try the started Pulpo al Olivio which is an octopus sashimi and olive sauce. The plate came with a generous amount of sauce and was well presented with a scrumptious sweet potato side/garnish. Overall, it was tasty although it was too overwhelmingly olive flavored for me, but would be great if you love olives! I will definitely be back to try the other octopus dishes. read more

I waited for months for this place to open. I love Peruvian food and I was not aware of any other restaurants in the area. Aromas is not just a restaurant, it's an experience. The presentation is something they care a lot about so when my Ceviche came out on a beautifully decorated platter with lightly fried calamari on top, and a real flame on the side, it was clearly important to have great flavors, excellent ingredients and beautiful presentation. Roasted Peruvian corn is yummy but they actually serve it with a very spicy and delicious sauce, but it's hot - Be prepared! I've now been there three times, each time I tried a new dish and they were all fantastic. If you've never been to a Peruvian restaurant, this may be the best one to try. Yes, it's more expensive than others, but I think it's worth it. Presentation counts - Great food aside, the staff and chef make this a fun destination and a lovely evening. You can park in the garage in the building of the restaurant and head toward the visitor side and let them know you are there to go to the restaurant and it will be free to park.
