They have good food and good service, I recommend this place for Portuguese food and bacalhau

Price , service and food are good enough to come back again and again. Place very cozy, professional

First need to clarify it's not a Brazilian restaurant. It's Portugal. Love love Portugal. Such a beautiful country. I had the pleasure of traveling to Azores Islands and wow! God has been good to me when it comes to traveling. This place very nice. Definitely a date night restaurant. I live near by so walked to try it! I plan to try every restaurant on this strip at least once! Lololol... The food was DELISH!!!! I had the salmon with veggies. My friend had the steak but it's called something else don't remember. Very good. Very attentive. And it's a place I recommend to others when in the area. :))))

Our group of car guys met at Vinhus Restaurant this month. As an appetizer we ordered two orders of calamari for the whole table, then everybody ordered different Portuguese plates from fish, to chicken, and seafood pastas. I ordered the octopus with potatoes, it was delicious. For dessert I had the crème brûlée, also very good. Everybody loved their food! The service was good, Brandon our server was friendly and professional, a young woman also helped him with the service. Both were very good at what they did. The prices were reasonable for seafood plates. The only problem I see has nothing to do with the restaurant, it's very hard to find a parking spot. I had to drive around for 5 minutes before finding a place, and it was someone that was leaving at a block from there. We all had a great time!

Service: 5 stars for service! Im a huge hot sauce fan and I was so happy when our waitress came out with three different options. My favorite was made by the chefs and came in a little clear jar with a black lid. It had a KICK. Food: DELICIOUS meal from start to finish. We were welcomed to the table with menus, fresh warm bread that had full olives baked into it, and a side of salty and savory olives sitting in olives oil. We chose cod croquettes and fried calamari for our apps. The croquettes were fluffy and fried perfectly. I thought the calamari was too breaded, which is a shame because the calamari meat itself would have been delightful just grilled with some olive oil/chilies. The mains were delicious all around. My colleagues ordered the steak and lamb chop. I settled on the grilled octopus which was very very tender, which is an art when youre talking about Octopus. I didn't need teeth to chew it. Perfectly tender! This would have easily been a 5 out of 5 had the octopus had just a bit more flavor. The olive oil had a lovely garlic profile but it was missing something. I look forward to coming back and trying more food!

I had been following them on IG and was excited to see that they were open. There are not many authentic Portuguese restaurants in Florida -- let alone South Florida. They had opened on this past Friday for family and friends and were doing a soft opening. We called and found out they were open for dinner tonight but were only taking cash or zelle. As it turned out, we were able to pay with a credit card as the system was installed just as we were finishing our meal. We got to meet and chat with the owners, Priscilla and Americo. They had a restaurant in New Jersey for years. After selling it, they moved to Florida and have now come out of "retirement". Priscilla takes care of the front of the house and Americo is the chef. They are working on their hours -- and will be adjusting them based on interest. They will be closed on Mondays, most likely. But do call to check before you come. They plan to offer lunch and dinner specials, too, in the future. Right now, they have a one-page menu (see photo). While waiting for our food, we enjoyed some complimentary bread, nicely toasted, and a small bowl of black and green olives. The little olives (with pits) were addictive. My husband got two appetizers. And I ordered a main entree. He started with shrimp in garlic sauce. There were a ton of small shrimp bathed in garlic butter. He said it had a bit of a kick, but he liked it. While I had my entree, he had another appetizer of steamed clams. He sopped up the broth with some of the bread. My entree was their prawns Mozambique. The huge prawns were nicely grilled and served over white rice with chips, broccoli, and al dente carrots. The Mozambique sauce was served on the side. You could dip or spoon, as desired. As you may recall from Social Studies class (history? geography?), Mozambique in Africa was a colony of Portugal since the 1500's until their independence in 1975. According to Americo, this was a popular dish at his other restaurant and in Portugal. The version of the sauce that he makes uses white wine, garlic, butter, paprika, etc. It is not spicy but has personality. I loved this dish and would order it again. We were too full for dessert, but the offerings of the day sounded intriguing -- a tiramisu, a cheesecake, and a special pear dish. We will try another time, perhaps. And they expect to add more options in the future, as well. If you like Portuguese food, or are a cosmopolitan diner, you will like this cozy restaurant as much as we did. We wish them a long and happy residence here -- we certainly are looking forward to coming back to try more of their menu.

My first visit to Venhu and it was enjoyable. We shared a paella, half pitcher of sangria and paella valenciana and desserts. When you go, parking is available in the lot right outside. Full bar and attentive service.

One of only maybe 5 in the area is a must stop for Portuguese food. Shrimp with Garlic is top tier like in Jersey. The main course meals all come with selective options that you can choose from. Service is A++ and the ambience is good with Portugal games on the tv.

Vinhus, in Pompano Beach. 2201 E Atlantic Ave. Portuguese restaurant in the Newark Ironbound style, in the former space of Ammos Greek Restaurant. Portuguese food is not a cuisine we have easy access to in SoFL. Still, it was widespread when we lived in NJ -- the Ironbound section of Newark, Ferry Street, and its environs was (and still is) filled with Portuguese and Spanish places and Brazilian food. This restaurant originates from Roselle, NJ, and operated for 12 years before the family moved to Coconut Creek. At one time, the family also owned Sagres on Ferry Street. This is as Jersey as your Portuguese food in SoFL is gonna get. Right now the menu is a soft launch menu, and their official grand opening is not until next month, so it should be considered temporary and limited. The chef/owner is still working out his regular seafood suppliers as he prefers to work with New England shellfish. So if your favorite dish isn't there yet (mariscada, cataplana, paelha, etc) relax, it's coming. And yes they do make those thin crispy olive oil fried potato chips you remember. As it was only the two of us we only got two things, a caldo verde soup and a porco alentejana, both were very good, with restrained saltiness. Liquor is wine and beer, but you'll be happy so see that the wine list is decidedly Portuguese. They make both red and white sangria. Can't wait to go back.

Sidecar Speakeasy was the play... The speakeasy entrance was hidden in a hallway you can walk right by without even noticing. I dig it. Once inside, it's dark. Most of the light is coming from the light showcasing the bottles in the bar. The seating is a little tight as they're trying to maximize space for such a small area. We visited here twice during my visit: We sat at a table and a bar. You have the perfect amount of space for your party, but you're pretty close to the next table or bar seat. No claustrophobic vibes though. All the mixologists were great during both visits. One visit, we ordered their signature cocktails from the menu. When we sat at the bar, we had the mixologist surprise with a cocktail off the menu. He just asked what kind of liquor vibe we wanted, and he took it from there. He was super creative with every cocktail which made for a great time. They stayed upon until midnight one one visit and until 1 am on the other one. Both my visits were on a weekday. The lovely hostess guided us to a booth by a window. We were greeted by our equally lovely server Jazmin (sp?). Btw, she rocks! Upon perusing the lunch menu we jumped at the deviled eggs appetizer. These beauties were two beet stained eggs cut in half topped with a spicy yolk filling and garnished with scallions, chicken skin crunch and trout roe. OH MY! My dear friend and dining companion was leaning towards a salad but we put on our thinking caps and decided that the fried chicken entree, which was accompanied by two sides and a biscuit was the best bang for our taste buds. And indeed it was. She ordered two pieces with greens and mac + cheese while I chose three pieces (thinking ahead to lunch tomorrow) plus the mac chz plus sweet potato soufflé (that was Thanksgiving babe!). The chicken was fresh out of the fryer and we had nothing but praise for the sides. To top it off...Nanner Puddin'! Just like mom made but no Jello pudding here. Amazing. Since it was a weekday, we got to meet the chef and give kudos. (He's a happy dude) I wouldn't care to come here on the weekend when it's packed but I can see why folks do. The place is enormous with a huge outside venue and a sprawling banyan tree. Plus the Sunday brunch menu is tempting. But for a chill lunch with nice employees and scrumptious food on a Thursday, we were star struck and satisfied.

They have both indoor and outdoor seating, plus a cute outdoor bar area with stools where you can eat and hang out, which gave the place a really nice vibe. The music was a great mix of R&B and oldies too. Now let's talk service... for me, service is everything, and unfortunately that's what made this experience disappointing. Our waitress, Haley, was pretty inattentive throughout the meal. We asked for extra Caesar dressing and never got it, and it was honestly hard to get a hold of her most of the time. Because of that alone, I'd probably think twice before coming back. As for the food -- it was hit or miss. We started with the wings as an appetizer. They were flavorful, but nothing memorable. I'd probably skip them next time and try something else. I ordered the crispy Cobb salad because it sounded amazing on the menu, but it was a letdown. It was mostly lettuce with barely any chicken, and I had to mix the whole salad myself. At a restaurant, I kind of expect a Cobb salad to come already tossed together. Also... no blue cheese available? Come on now lol. My boyfriend got the fried chicken with sweet potato fries and mac & cheese. I will say, everything came out HOT, so you can tell the food is made fresh. The mac & cheese didn't look impressive at first, but it tasted SO good. The sweet potato fries were delicious too. My sister ordered the lobster pasta, and honestly the portion size shocked me in the best way. They were generous with the lobster, which almost never happens, and she loved it. My daughter got the crispy chicken sandwich and said it was the best sandwich she's ever had, so that was definitely a win. Overall, the food itself wasn't bad at all -- my salad was just a flop. If the service had been better, this review probably would've been very different. Not sure if I'd come back, but maybe on a different day with a different server.

Everything came out piping hot, quickly, and you can tell the food and drinks are really thoughtfully crafted. What stood out most, though, was the customer service. The three main staff members Drew, Mel, and Darian (I think?) were incredible. Every single one of them went above and beyond for every guest the entire time. When we arrived, there were just a couple tables outside, but once it started raining, they seamlessly accommodated everyone inside without missing a beat. Not just trying to be different for the sake of it. These drinks land. And if cocktails aren't your thing, don't worry... the beer and cider lineup is deep.
