Was looking for a coffee shop in the area and found this on Yelp with many great reviews so decided to check it out. The cafe is cute and is more than just a grab and go spot. You can actually sit and they offer food on their menu. If I had more time, I would have done so since lots of things looked appetizing. The girl at the front helped us with their menu and answered all our questions. We ended up getting creme brulee latte and hojicha latte. I liked the drinks. They were pretty good. There is a more grab and go location literally doors down from here. Will come back and check out their food and sweets sometime.

A hidden gem! Had their avocado toast with a matcha einspanner and it was chef's kiss! Excellent service, relaxed ambiance, and delicious food and drinks. Highly recommend!

Truly impressed!! Coffee was good and they have a roastery/sell their own beans. It seemed like a lot of the menu items have Taiwanese influence, which I enjoyed. The pasta was delicious. Plenty of seating so we had no issues with that. There's a dessert store owned by the same company a few doors down and they were offering samples while we were there. They were good, not too sweet, but the fruit flavor wasn't super strong or apparent either. Would love to come back if I'm in the area!

I ordered a Mocha Einspänner (Vienna coffee). The taste was pretty mediocre, with neither mocha nor milk flavor. The environment was just so-so too, and it still cost $8.5.

Salmon Egg Benedict was pricey and just ok

This was a pricey cafe that was hard to find since it's located in a plaza, surrounded by a lot of other businesses. Also, they are renovating so their sign couldn't be seen It's open daily 8am-4pm Parking was ok but could be difficult since their parking lot was shared with other businesses Service was friendly and welcoming Inside was spacious and had a good amount of seating. However, I wish there were more power outlets and WiFi! Menu had a good variety of coffee and tea drinks, as well as food items Pricing was pretty pricey so expect to pay $6-7+ for most of their drinks and most food items were $15+ Iced Sesame Latte ($7) was ok. Got it half sweet with less ice and the black sesame wasn't as rich in flavor as I was expecting. It tasted pretty bland and not too sweet. I could hardly taste the coffee so it was pretty disappointing. This was 6.5/10 Smoked Salmon Egg Benedict ($19) was alright. The egg was slightly overcooked but it tasted pretty fresh. The smoked salmon was too salty and fishy. This was 7/10 Overall, I most likely won't recommend or return unfortunately

This is a very spacious eatery. The design is very unique with a bar area section. The breakfast with our iced lattes were delicious. The cashier was very friendly and offered a sample of one of their cookies and shared what they had in season. I would come back!

I love me a trendy breakfast spot with latte art, matcha options, desserts and a good selection of food, and this place checks off all the boxes. I don't ever come to this area but when my brother and his fiancée visited from Texas and suggested we meet here for breakfast I was like, hell yes! Everything about this place is super cute, and it's definitely a popular spot with the locals since there was a line when we got here. Thankfully we didn't wait a long time. We ordered the French toast, smoked salmon Benedict and matcha tiramisu. Everything was so good! The staff is also super nice and made the experience even better. If I'm ever in this area I'll be sure to stop in and try other items because they all look so yummy! Happy eating!

I love love love this place. Being from Walnut, this place will always be a staple breakfast spot. The interior is beautifully decorated, the staff is nice, and the food is good. Miso Pasta 4/5: Considering how many times I have been here, I have never tried this dish. It had a really good flavor but overall would be a little heavy to eat on its own. Smoked Salmon Toast 5/5: This is my go-to dish here and always hits the spot. The bread is seasoned to perfection and the poached egg on top adds a nice touch to the presentation and taste. Drinks 4/5: I have never been the biggest fan of their espresso as I find it to be a bit too acidic for me, however the latte was beautifully decorated and overall had a good taste (minus the espresso taste). This is always a good option when deciding on a Sunday brunch spot, prices are a bit higher but worth it!

VIP seating area. Minimum purchase required with a time limit. See my photo.

Located next to their sister store, Sweets by Aroma Craft (see my other review) this is the first of the two that opened. The interior space is nicely decorated for people to enjoy coffee, pastries or sweet and savory snacks. There's a private seating area that can be reserved with a minimum spend amount (see my photo for pricing) They also have a bar area (no booze) and plenty of tables for either 2 or 4. Aroma carries their own roasted beans. Some are pricey, while others are more inline with other gourmet roasters. They have a small roaster onsite tucked into the corner. Whenever I check out a new coffee place, I always get a cappuccino. All of their coffee based drinks use their espresso beans, and this produced a smooth and bold cap, plus I always appreciate a nice latte art. (See photo) The brown sugar iced latte was a bit too mild. The brown sugar flavor was very very subtle and on only had a hint of sweetness. We likely will not get this again. The service was very good, and everyone we came across was friendly. I really liked the vibe here because it seemed customers were there to socialize with friends, unlike Starbucks where everyone has a laptop and headphones on. I also like the ambiance, and topping it off with a good cappuccino really makes me wish this is much closer to my house.

Rich Miso Pasta (very salty)

I went here with my friends during lunch. First time here, I've always been so excited to try this place, yet it was so disappointing. We ordered the hibiscus tea but it was flavorless, my friend did not end up drinking it at all after she took one sip. However, the summer espresso was good though. Also, we ordered the miso pasta, I've seen great reviews about this that's why I wanted to try it. But I was so disappointed how salty it was, felt like I was eating a teaspoon of salt in every bite, that even though I was hungry I could not even finish it.

Perfect spot for weekend brunch! It's quaint, cozy, and the food have great taste. There's also a great selection of crafted specialty coffee and drinks. Really enjoyed this awesome cafe.

The tray is so cute!

I was recommended by a coworker when I was looking for a good coffee bean to purchase and make espresso at home. I really like their coffee bean having a bold and bitter taste rather than sour. I'm kind of new to espresso world so sour coffee is an acquired taste. This place has a variety of beans. The front cashier you was very well educated about coffee. He's not just a cashier. He recommended the one they use for their Americano. And I was surprised that they serve food too! They all looked good but we didn't get any food just coffee. When the coffee was ready they come out with a tray and it was so cute! I'd go back to get another bag of coffee beans and food!

Strawberry Matcha
Sherry T.

A nice brunch place. I enjoy coming here with my girlfriends. It's a good place to chat, for there is no rush to leave. Even though it can get busy, it's not loud and noisy. This place is modern and rustic. You first order with the cashier and then the food/drinks are brought to your table. The food is delicious, and I enjoyed my strawberry matcha (it's also a pretty drink)! I do think it's a bit on the pricey side. It's fine though. I do recommend this place.

Service was courteous though not immediate. Coffee is from a local roaster and brewed fresh by the 16 ounce cup. No refills as it's by the order, but it's a good size and very good. Only drawback was grilled foods had a slight of oil taste and a few things left off my order, but not a major deal. I would give 4.5 so since I have to go by even stars I'll go 5.

This kinda service and nonsense seating policy on a hump day, is the type that drive customer like me away and choose franchise establishments such as panera or starbucks which located less than a mile away. None of the coffee refillable. No Creamers options/ milk options, sense was just unwelcoming and wouldn't want to come back. Maybe in another 8 years. I enjoy my breakfast taste though, but nothing extraordinary.

I am so glad we chose Hide Out Cafe in Rowland Heights to have our celebration. The food is delicious, the staff is so friendly, and the cafe is so cozy and welcoming. My brother was sponsoring our meal since he couldn't make it, so of course we had to go all out and order two drinks and two main dishes. (Thank you, big brother)! I got the Boba Bear Set $8.50, which comes with a drink and two house-made cookies, and my mom got their Tiramisu Latte $7.00, which is heavy on the coffee liquor, to be honest, but we had fun with it. The drinks are crafted beautifully, and with the open cafe concept, you can see they pay attention to the small details of their crafted drink menu. The house-made cookies that were a part of my Boba Bear Set are not to be forgotten. The cookies are buttery, decadent, and delicious; they are the perfect tea cookies to pair with! I can't wait to go back and try more of their fun drinks and maybe bring a study book the next time. For our main dishes, we shared the Chimi Wagyu & Frites $35.00, and the Fresh Avocado Toast $19.00. We both love eggs so of course we had to get something with eggs in our dish. My mom loved her avocado toast, and they were very generous with the avocado as well on there. The salad is a definite hit with us and included a great dressing on the side. The eggs were cooked perfectly on top of our toast and steak. The frites with my steak were crispy and seasoned well. I also loved the chimi sauce with my steak as well. The portion was huge so we were able to take some back home to enjoy another day. Overall, my mom and I had a great experience and would absolutely come back for another sip of their lattes and try another fun drink on their menu. We left with happy smiles and full stomachs, and can't wait to come back soon.

Bring card or contactless payment.) I arrived at Hide Out Cafe (Rowland Heights) on Wednesday (around 10:21AM). Parking is very easy. The lot is big. However, Hide Out Cafe (Rowland Heights) is very hidden. It has no visibility from the street! Staff is very professional and welcoming. Staff politely and cheerfully answered all my questions. Staff is very knowledgeable and accommodating. For example, the location does not have a paper menu; all the menus are accessed via QR Code. Fortunately, Staff let me borrow their iPad which allowed me to see the menu on a larger screen. When I'd arrived, Staff asked if I was dine-in or to-go. I was immediately seated. When I'd inquired about the boba. Staff honestly told me that they needed 15 additional minutes to prepare the boba. I brightly waited. All in all, after the 15 minute wait, the drink took an additional 10 minutes before being ready. As mentioned, I ordered the Boba Bear Set ($8.50). CUTE!!! It's a very aesthetic and memorable presentation. The boba pearls came perfect; they're bouncy, perky, and playful. The brown sugar milk tea mixed with the caramel foam tasted honey-like. It's very TASTY! My biggest nitpick is that the amount felt tiny. Still, it's a wonderful memory that I'm so happy to experience! On ambiance, Hide Out Cafe (Rowland Heights) is comfortable and clean. There's about 13 interior tables, and there's six patio tables. The music is slow-tempo, and the tall ceiling made it feel spacious. In addition, Hide Out Cafe (Rowland Heights) has utility. There's customer internet with password; details are available on the QR code menu. There's also about four electrical outlets. I also appreciated the self-service water station. There's also a gender neutral restroom in the back. Hide Out Cafe (Rowland Heights) felt very hidden yet well-maintained. It's a lovely spot. Overall, I had a magical, memorable experience. I discovered AMAZING milk tea and many precious memories. If searching for someplace special, I happily recommend. 4.9 out of 5

I ordered the avocado toast with a side of bacon, and my husband ordered the chorizo skillet. The coffees and my food came out quickly, but his never did. Instead, we watched an older server walk around the restaurant with his skillet and bacon, stopping at multiple tables asking if it belonged to them. Twice she set it down at other tables before being told it wasn't theirs. The third time, she finally brought it to us. That seems like it should be a health issue, what if someone else had stuck their fingers in it not knowing. By then, my husband didn't even want it anymore because it had already been sitting in front of other people. To their credit, they remade it, but then we waited another 15 minutes for his food while I had already finished eating. We actually watched another couple sitting next to us get so frustrated because their order was completely forgotten. After waiting forever with no food and barely any acknowledgment, they eventually just got up and left. Great food, front-of-house needs a bit of work…read more.. We made reservations for Mother's Day brunch a week ahead and thankfully we did as they had booked up at least 1 or 2 days before. Parking is super easy as it's in a plaza and shares a big lot with other businesses. They had a special menu, so I'm not too sure what is and is not part of their usual menu, but this is what we ordered: 1. Baltimore Crab Cakes (comes with 2): we were pleasantly surprised as it came with a side salad; the crab cakes themselves were not dry at all and came with a good amount of crab. Delicious, 5/5 2. Heirloom tomato and stone fruit salad: one of the things they pride themselves on is sourcing their ingredients locally and sustainably. You can really tell with this dish that all of their ingredients are really high-quality and fresh. The stonefruit was super sweet. The price ($18) was a bit high for the portion size, so this was a 4/5 for us. 3. Crab & tonnarelli: really good cook on the pasta; my husband is really picky on pasta that's overcooked, but this came to us perfectly al dente. There was a good amount of crab as well, so we appreciated that they didn't skimp. That said, the taste was a bit one-toned and underseasoned, which is a lot coming from us since we typically complain about food being too salty. If it came with a bit more salt, it would've been one of our favorites. 3.5 (maybe 4)/5 4. Pork sisig and garlic rice: we love sisig, so we had to order it. While it was super flavorful and delicious, we couldn't finish it on the spot since it was pretty salty and we were getting full. We did take it home and cook some more vegetables into it to dilute the salt a bit. 4/5 5. Ricotta cheese pancakes: super fluffy and airy, you can tell why they need 20 minutes to prep them. Again, the fruit they used was super fresh and sweet. Loved, no notes. 5/5 Service-wise, there were some hiccups with our orders. Our salad came to us without the burrata and when we asked them about it, it took about 3-4 people double-checking their menu to confirm it actually came with burrata, then a handful more minutes to rectify it. It seemed strange to me that they were unfamiliar with their own menu. Our pork sisig dish came out much later than every other dish and our waiter had to check up on it a few times, so it may have just gotten missed. There seemed to be a lot of people working in the front, but somehow hard to flag them down and get helped when we needed it. I'll give them the benefit of the doubt as it was Mother's Day and I'm sure it was busier than usual. Our waiter was also gracious in comping a drink as a result of the long wait for the sisig. Overall, we'll still come back as we want to try other dishes and we do appreciate the freshness of the ingredients and their integration of vegetables with dishes, which can sometimes be hard to come by. Just wanted to provide some feedback on service in hopes they'll take it constructively.

It's simple but full of character, featuring cholo-style artwork inspired by Blood In, Blood Out, along with actor signatures that give the place a cool, authentic vibe. We were able to sit back, enjoy great company, and have an even better meal. The kids loved the breakfast burrito, waffles, and the classic breakfast plates. I ordered the chorizo omelette, and it did not disappoint -- generous chunks of perfectly cooked chorizo throughout. You can truly taste that everything is made from scratch with fresh ingredients. The country fried steak is incredible as well -- definitely worth trying. There's plenty of parking, including street parking since the restaurant sits on a corner. They offer covered outdoor seating with a gated area and a TV, plus indoor seating if you prefer. I will most certainly be returning. Highly recommend!

That kind of genuine hospitality is rare and immediately sets the tone. The food was excellent. I had the pancake combo and my son ordered the cheeseburger--both were fresh, flavorful, and clearly made with care. Even the ranch was standout. George then offered samples, which honestly sealed the deal. I don't like seafood at all, but the clam chowder was unbelievably good. And the biscuits and gravy? No exaggeration--the best gravy in the area. Nothing else comes close. The décor is another highlight. The Blood In Blood Out theme throughout the café is very cool, especially seeing the murals on the walls signed by actual cast members who have visited. It gives the place a unique character and makes it feel like more than just a café--it's an experience. Amazing food, amazing service, and a welcoming atmosphere. This is officially my new go-to spot for breakfast and lunch. Next visit, I'm trying the country fried steak and the chicken fettuccini. Highly recommend.
