Food was pretty good! I thought it was expensive but I was able to take some togo so it's relatively good portions. I gave three stars because I didn't think the food was mind-blowing, but it was still satisfying. The Thai tea was good too but not the best I've had. The pistachio matcha was really yummy though! If you like pistachio flavor you'll enjoy it, but it lies more on the artificial pistachio flavor side and the matcha is a powder similar to something from Starbucks. The place is super cute and definitely a good spot for a date or to get brunch. The workers are all super nice and helpful too! I would come back to definitely try more of the drinks like the lemonades which they have a lot of flavors of.

Joined my friend for brunch today at Arize Bistro and it did not disappoint. After seeing reels about this place I was so excited to try them out. We walked right in before the crowds came in and we placed our order at the counter and the food was brought out to us. Inside was cute and had tables set up as well as some out on their patio. We got the mango sticky rice sauce pancakes and The Usual which consists of 2 eggs with sausage, bacon, or ham, served with kale salad, seasoned red skin potatoes, and a biscuit. We got the bacon which was cooked perfectly. The potatoes were amazing! The pancakes were awesome and hit the sweet spot for us as we shared both entrees. Great service and fabulous food! Definitely a place to check out!

Was craving for waffle & fried chicken and heard about this place so stopped by to check it out. Parking was meter street parkings. The place is right on the corner so easy to spot it out and was lucky to get parking right next to the place. They do have outside and indoor seating areas...outside has only 4-5 tables this morning but saw plenty of unfolded chairs and tables so I guess weekend will have more seating outside. Once you got in, you're greeted by (the owner I believed) and informed you the menu and drinks menu. Easy order and got my number and picked a seat. Once they done, the foods are brought to your table. The seating area is more of community setting, you clean after you done eating, free hot/cool/cold water and with mixing of all type of chairs and tables. Quite homey and chill vibe. Got the waffle & fried chicken and Thai iced coffee. Abit watery coffee and less sweet (which is great, which I like). The waffles are great...very fluffy and light plus nicely tasty with the syrup. Chicken is good, good size but abit too blanched for me plus not well seasoned enough but crispy fried. Overall, it was good and for both items and 16% tip, around $30.

Mango sticky rice pancakes were super yummy 10/10. They have a little crispy edge action going on if you like that. Outdoor seating was nice. Definitely coming back next weekend for chicken & waffles.

sticky rice mango pancakes and hot asian omelet!

This place is the place to be. Super cute vibes in and out, and the menu is unbeatable. I had their baja baby skillet, and it was a little spicy but still delish. The chorizo was pretty greasy, and I wouldn't get this again. But trying my mom's hot asian omelet made me envious because it was so fluffy and not oily at all. I need to get that myself the next time I am here. I think what really influenced me to give this restaurant a 5 is due to their famous mango sticky rice pancakes. The sauce is soooooo good. The pancakes taste like they were made using rice flour. Wasn't heavy at all. You need to try these!!! I can't wait to come again for these pancakes and eat some more of their yummy brunch meals.

Like I mentioned before, my family and I are on a mission to try 1-2 new breakfast spots each month because of how much we love breakfast food. This was the second stop on our list, and it turned out to be a great choice. Since the restaurant is on the smaller side, it can get pretty crowded on weekends. We decided to go on a weekday morning instead and were seated right away, which made for a relaxed start to our meal. The menu has a solid variety of options, so we already know we'll be back to try more. For food, my wife ordered the Monte Cristo along with a passion fruit lemonade. The sandwich was good overall, though it leaned a bit more savory than I personally prefer--I tend to like my Monte Cristos on the sweeter side, so I would've preferred a little less mustard. That said, the passion fruit lemonade was excellent and an easy recommendation for anyone who enjoys a refreshing, fruity drink. I went with the Belly Bomb Panini and added sausage to take it up a notch. Flavor-wise, it delivered, but the bread did get soggy fairly quickly. It didn't bother me much, though I know texture can be a dealbreaker for some people. What really stood out for me was the Starburst lemonade--it was easily my favorite drink of the meal, and I couldn't get enough of it. For our son, we ordered the Mango Sticky Rice Sauce Pancakes, which ended up being a hit for all of us. He especially loved them, and honestly, we didn't even need syrup. The combination of the sticky rice sauce, whipped cream, and mango created the perfect balance of sweetness. My only wish is that the portion came with a bit more sauce and fruit. Overall, we were really happy with both our visit and our food choices. There are definitely some standout items here that are worth trying, and we're looking forward to coming back and adding more favorites to our list.

I'm sorry this is my spot and I'm back again lol everything is good I had to try something new! And I was not disappointed.. the staff is friendly and he definitely have a great sense of humor ... never a dull moment .. food is always hot and fresh and made to order. The place is always clean and nice music .. definitely a small gem!

Tatianna L.

Food looks beautiful but sadly no flavor!! The eggs were soaking wet ( I ordered scrambled eggs) I ask to send them back and the gentleman offered for them to cook them more! By this he meant taking the eggs that sat for 15 minutes wet next to me until he returned to ask us how we were doing then they tried recooking the eggs! Mind you when you order you pay! You have no idea what you're getting yourself into until it's in front of you. Staff was friendly but unfortunately the seasoning wasn't in the food and that egg incident will keep me from returning I forgot to mention that the mimosas are overly priced and really distasteful! Had I known it was coming room temperature in a plastic cup mixed the syrup I would've passed! Taste like Andre's which gave me a terrible headache The one star is due to having leave one for the review to post

Mango Sticky Rice Sauce Pancake A2 Crispy Chicken Fried Rice

Neeka S.

Came in on a Saturday morning at 9 AM. You order at the counter then seat yourself. Grab your own water. We ordered the mango sticky rice pancakes and fried chicken and rice. The gravy for the fried chicken was good, chicken was crispy. The coconut rice was not very coconut but still good. The pancakes were very sweet with mango on top. For two people it was enough food. The pancakes were almost like a dessert. We got the pistachio latte and lemonade which was also very sweet.

Jasmine N.

Food was amazing overall! It's a small shop vibe with a very small dog friendly patio. Service was so kind and attentive - gives you a real family vibe! Mango Sticky Rice pancakes were to die for!! Never had such a good flavor sauce, usually other places taste really artificial but this was tasty. Chicken all around for every plate was great, maybe a little dry but well seasoned. Coconut rice ia the choice of rice to go! Will be back when I'm craving those pancakes and waffles.

Donisha B.

Decided to give this place a shot for brunch and the food was good. I think my scoring for this review is low because it's very expensive. The portion is a pretty nice size but I just don't think it's worth the price. You order and then you sit. The mimosas were okay ; I would prefer a juice instead of like pumps of syrup.

Russ L.

Great experience at Arize Bistro. The Fried Chicken Biscuit was juicy and flavorful food. The Thai coffee was refreshing. But what amazing service, although it seems they are understaffed. Our order took longer but the food is worth the wait. My friend got the chicken and waffles, which was also amazing.

Brinny S.

This is definitely a solid brunch spot in Long Beach. I came here last weekend with a few friends, and we were pretty early, about 10am, so finding seating was easy. You order at the front and then they'll bring your food out to you, so no one is really checking on you throughout your dining experience. I ordered the Thai tea boba pancakes and the fried chicken biscuit. The pancakes were not bad, but very unique to add boba on top I thought! The fried chicken was pretty tasty and definitely a lot more chick n than biscuit. The biscuit was thick and dense, but still good. Overall, a good solid breakfast!

Went there last weekend, wasn't really busy but service was very slow. The first plate they brought out was the wrong order so ended up waiting even longer to get my food. The ham and cheese omelette was terrible, oily and tasted like it was made with cheap ingredients. Eggs had no salt or flavor, couple slices deli ham and packaged cheese slices. What's worse is that I could only taste the access amount of oil they cooked it in a lot was which filled my plate and even ended up getting into the side salad. The table next to me complaining about wait an hour for there food should have been a hint to walk out when the waitress walked past me 3 times without even saying hi. read more

My new fav brunch spot!! Omg if you like Asian fusion food you have to come here! We ordered the Baja Baby and the American Fried Rice and both were awesome! I've never been a big omelette fan but the Baja Baby slapped, each bite was delish! I love the vibe here as well, it's a family owned business and you can tell they really out their love into the food. Everyone was super nice! Plus they're now open for dine in and I felt safe the whole time I was there - there's plenty of hand sanitizer and everything's clean. For drinks don't skip out on the lavender mimosa and Thai tea! 5/5telling all my friends to come here! read more

My boyfriend and I stumbled upon this quaint breakfast spot one morning, now our fifth time here I feel right to give them the credit they deserve. Kind staff, fair prices, generous portions. On a nice quiet corner indoor seating and outdoor with shade. A great go to spot for anyone would highly recommend. Only advice to Arize Bistro, keep doing what your doing and we'll keep coming back. I love this little gem of a place in the East Village Arts district of Long Beach. The food is always amazing but my review is actually for the customer service every person that works there is so friendly and nice. The girl that works the front has the most amazing customer service she always says hello and she always has a smile on her face. Lately I have noticed going into different businesses the customer service has gotten so bad. Not Arize and their team. Thanks for being so nice read more

This location has had three different managements since I started frequenting the Arts District near downtown Long Beach. Currently, it is as if both the kitchen and the IT for its complimentary WiFi are managed by a professional Asian female comedian who raps on the side. I do not know how to tell them this, but if I could sell them a recipe or two for California cuisine, the location would finally keep its tenant for the long term. Yes, the customer service is still legendary there, though. read more

We stayed in Long Beach over weekend and were looking for breakfast place when we found Arize and based on reviews and that it was advertised as fusion Asian/American breakfast we decided to try this place. There were two people who were working there, one in the kitchen and one in front taking care of orders, serving, cleaning up etc. And there were lot of customers. We were seated relatively quickly after 20 min. in line to get to the cashier, but had to wait almost an hour to get our food. We ordered 3 different food and there were no sign of fusion in any of them, they were all standard American breakfast. Unless adding a Thai sauce to an omelet would qualify that as fusion food. The food wasn't bad but it wasn't anything extraordinary or fusion. So with very slow service, long wait, standard food and being served on paper plate, I don't think this place deserves more than 3 stars. read more

Charming spot with lots of space, outdoor seating, and very nice decor. Food is fantastic, PERFECT choices for a wholesome and filling breakfast and lunch. The biscuits for the meals are so good. Seriously, that's how a biscuit should be. Tasted homemade and perfectly toasted. My meal was absolutely what I needed. Came in starving and left really really happy. Servers are nice to customers and very quick and helpful. Fast service, too. This was exactly what I needed at the time. Felt like eating a nice homemade meal from granny. Loved it. I was so disappointed in this place. Their lattes were terrible, cold, and it was just tea with almond milk, poured in after the tea was put in the cup. Not properly made and DEF not a latte! Gravy was water. It was so gross. They don't know anything about American food from the south. Turkey bacon was cold, it was just microwaved sandy gritty crap. Didn't follow our order at all. Got our orders wrong. Orange juice was DISGUISTING tasted like McDonalds. Biscuits were either overcooked and hard or undercooked and mushy. The concept of having to get our own water, and then they didn't even provide napkins or utensils to us until we had to keep asking and it took them forever. They couldn't even hand us each the utensils, they just set the whole bunch down and walked away. What type of service is that? Plus this place made us order and pay first before sitting. Worst breakfast food I had in a long time. I was shocked. Absolutely gross. They need to revisit their employees, menu, everything. How are they even open? read more

Came here over the weekend not knowing that Berlin bistro was taken over and redone. Ok, no problem I thought since this new place also looked appetizing. However, after looking through their breakfast menu I realized that they had next to no vegetarian options (I believe in total there were 3 egg dishes like a cheese omelette and then the biscuit). Not really an issue if the establishment doesn't intend to be vegetarian friendly, but the vegan friendly designation should be removed from the yelp page, because i didn't see any vegan options either. Hopefully in the future more vegetarian options are added, because the place itself looks nice and the food looked like it was being enjoyed by everybody in the restaurant. read more

We have full kitchens in all the rooms where we're staying along with plates and all the set ups. The rooms even have dishwashers! So, I found this S T Noodle Bar near by and decided to give it a try. I kinda know what there guys like to eat, so I just ordered a bunch of food. The only request from anybody was for Pad Thai, the most common dish at all Thai restaurants. I GPS my way over and order the food. I was Khao Soy on the menu and I don't see that at too many Thai places that I've been to, so I got an order of that with chicken. Of course, an order of Pad Thai, 2 orders since I have 5 hungry people to feed. Also, I ordered the Thai coconut soup, I think it's called Tom Kha with chicken. One more noodles dish was the Drunken Noodles, it's kinda like Chinese Chow Fun, but has a more spicy flavor and basil in it. The food was all pack and bagged for me to take back to the hotel. We used my room since I have a bigger room. We had plates and set ups for all five of us and we re-plated the food on the serving plates that came with the room. All the food was really tasty and everybody was happy not to have to leave the hotel. I heard compliments on the Pad Thai and the Coconut soup. They were large and looked more like onion rings. Not bad, but I prefer lighter batter. Also, see the subreddit WeWantPlates, hehe) - spicy seafood salad (fresh and bountiful amount of seafood) - steamed mussels in lemongrass basil broth (mussels were plump and tender and the broth was so good--my favorite) - Singha beer Service was prompt, and the prices reasonable. Very good first impression, would try again.

Really bad- don't go here... came for breakfast and was probably the worst breakfast we ever had. Ordered the skillet special which was poached eggs, green curry, and potatoes. The potatoes were still icy in the middle (pulled out of a fridge, rather than made fresh), poached eggs were basically hard boiled, and curry was separated with a pool of oil around the edges, all of which had no flavor. My husband ordered the Brettwich, a scrambled egg biscuit sandwich. The eggs tasted and looked like pre-mixed box eggs, the bacon was paper thin and all fat, and biscuit was flavorless, small and tasted like a Bisquick mix. His gravy on the side also was separated into a pool of cream and oil. Super weird is that there is still signage on the windows and inside from the previous restaurant- Sweet Dixie Kitchen... seems like these people came in and bought everything and tried to open a new restaurant really quickly. Their dishes are really bland, not good, and super slow service. Such a shame the previous restaurant closed, because they had some really good breakfast skillets, biscuits and homemade pastries. read more

This was my initial visit to this establishment, and I must say that it was quite spacious, allowing for ample room within the premises. Perhaps it was due to the early morning hour of 10:30 AM, but there weren't many customers present. I opted for the breakfast plate, unaware that it consisted of a sandwich. Consequently, the server kindly provided me with an additional waffle, which was a pleasant surprise. The customer service exhibited by the girl was highly professional. However, I cannot recommend the potatoes as they had an average taste and a peculiar flavor. On the other hand, the waffle was delicious I'll have to try it with the chicken. I would definitely bring others to this place, although I would advise against ordering the potatoes. It is worth noting that the establishment started to fill up with more customers as I was leaving, which is a positive indication. read more

Arize Bistro is a cozy spot in Long Beach serving up an amazing brunch with a unique twist. Owned by a Thai couple, they take classic American diner favorites and add a flavorful Thai flair, making every dish something special. You can rise and shine with a Thai iced tea or dive into their Thai tea boba pancakes--fluffy, sweet, and packed with that signature spiced creaminess. Not feeling Thai tea? The mango sticky rice pancakes are just as dreamy, bringing a tropical touch to your morning. On the savory side, their chicken sandwich is *mega*--huge, crispy, and seriously delicious. But the real FOMO moment hit when I saw everyone ordering the chicken and waffles. Obviously, I had to join in, and let me tell you--it was perfection. Whether you're in the mood for sweet or savory, Arize Bistro serves up brunch that's worth waking up for! read more

This place is truly amazing in every aspect. It's without a doubt one of the finest breakfast spots we've ever visited. Their chicken and waffles offer a unique twist that stands out from the traditional version. The chicken is incredibly delicious and addictive, with a secret ingredient that sets it apart. Don't forget to order an extra one to take away for the best leftovers. They also offer different flavors like barbecue, garlic, and traditional, all of which are wonderfully fused. Volunteering has many benefits, including saving up to $16.49 on a single order of pasta!…read more This probably necessitates an explanation. Over a decade ago, I volunteered for a special event in Long Beach and was given a volunteer shirt to wear during the event. The shirt has the words "Long Beach", and it was a good thing I saved this shirt because it really did save me $16.49 on an order of pasta! I only recently learned about 908 Day when I picked up a 908 Day booklet from a different business in Long Beach. After perusing said booklet and all the deals listed, I determined that, besides a free car wash, Tony's Kitchen offered the best deal: Any pasta for $9.08 from 2 to 8 PM, though there was a stipulation that stated some items, including steak, would be excluded. I arrived just after 7 PM, and it was just about packed! There were a couple of tables open, but nobody at the front desk to greet me. I went up to the counter in the rear of the restaurant to ask about the 908 Day promo since it mentioned what I said earlier about some pastas being excluded from the $9.08 deal. 908 Day booklet in hand, I spoke to a younger server and asked her which of the pastas would be excluded from the $9.08 deal, and she mentioned all of the pastas on the menu would be eligible for that pricing. She then asked if I wanted to dine in or order to go. I initially said "to go", but then she said the deal was dine-in only even though the booklet didn't specify that as a stipulation. Well, okay I guess, but it didn't leave the best first impression, that's for sure. She told me I'd be seated in a bit, and so I sauntered back to the front desk to wait until I got seated at a table for two closest to the front door with less lighting compared to all the other tables for four. The other, older server handed me a menu for me to look over. I studied the menu and was intent on getting a $24 pasta dish since $24 was the highest price tag on their pasta menu. Furthermore, I saw that all but one of those dishes would use chicken as the main protein; the odd one out was the Creamy Chipotle Shrimp, which sounded like a winning combo that I had to go for. The pastas with chicken sounded good too, but the shrimp was calling my name. As I was looking through the menu, I noticed a party of four was seated at a table right in front of me, and they were given glasses of water by the younger server before the older server came back to take my order. Hey! What about me? Well, it only took a minute more for the older server to come take my order. Even though shrimp is not the same as steak, I wanted to confirm with her that the Creamy Chipotle Shrimp would still be eligible for the $9.08 pricing, to which she answered affirmatively, and that was my final decision. She then asked, much to my surprise, if I wanted for here or to go. I didn't want to walk back to my car through a dark alley in the dark, so I chose "to go". She then took the menu and went back to relay my order to the kitchen crew. And so I waited. They had two TVs, one showing the LA Dodgers and the other showing LA Angels, so that kept me company while I was scrolling through my phone during my wait. I wish I had remembered to ask how long it would take for them to prepare my order, but I timed the wait to be approximately 20 minutes before the older server approached me with a takeout bag. I hadn't paid up to this point, so a part of me thought that an unethical customer could just snatch the order from her hands and run out. Of course, I'd never do such a thing, but she did instruct me to go up to the front to pay. Wouldn't it have been easier to just pay up front instead of asking me to take a seat at a table? I guess they like to do things the long way. When she rang me up, she did specify I had to be wearing "Long Beach", which was clearly present on my shirt, and so I had to point it out. I almost thought she was going to say "not good enough", but luckily, she still honored the 908 Day pricing. When I got home, I saw the pasta came in an aluminum pie tin with a plastic cover, and a piece of garlic bread was wrapped in aluminum foil. However, they didn't include utensils?! Surely, they could have included at least a fork, don't you think? The portion size seemed quite small for $24, but reasonable for $9.08 + tax. However, I counted only 5 pieces of shrimp in the pasta; I thought there would have been a few more for that price point, but at least the shrimp was peeled. The pasta was cooked al dente, and that creamy chipotle sauce was packed with so much flavor that I believe they added too much salt to the sauce. Garlic bread was good too, especially when I used it to scoop up the remaining sauce on the pie tin after I finished the pasta. Even though I enjoyed the pasta, I didn't enjoy my overall experience enough to give a 4th star. I'd consider a return visit for 908 Day next year if they offer the same deal, but not so much if I have to pay full price.

Food seemed to take a little longer to come out of the kitchen. The food looked good and was okay. Nothing exciting or spectacular on their breakfast menu. Portions were large and leftovers were taken home. Hubby was sad his hot chocolate was not full, was warm in temperature, and only got colder because of all the whipped cream on top. I think my Cali ABC juice was the best! That is definitely something to try.

Hidden gem for build your own bowls and boba! We got the Galbi bowl, and the Galbi was cooked to…read moreperfection and flavorful with the kimchi on the side. We also got their "small shareable" chicken wings - which were definitely BIG SHAREABLE! Ten delectably crispy fried chicken wings that are larger than life! Wings came with a side of gochujang style sauce, spicy mayo, and a savory thin sauce (reminded me of Hainan style sauce)! Not only is their food generous, but their boba slaps! We got their seasonal grape slush which was so refreshing for a hot day. My only critique is that all of the dishes were a bit salty. Service was super nice! There were 2 servers with man buns (sorry! I didn't get their names!). They were kind with ordering and brought out our food to our table. Spacious cafe with clean tables inside and outside.

Good quality healthy bowls for a great price! We tried the classic Seoul bowl (bulgogi) and the…read moreTaiwan bowl (shredded pork) and both were delicious. We did have to pay $1 extra for one of the sauces but also tried the free sauce which I actually preferred. Also tried their lychee fruit drink and it was so refreshing. My only complaint would be that it was really cold in there so it was a little bit uncomfortable to eat especially when it was already chilly outside. Not that it needed to be warm in there but room temperature would've been nice. I think maybe it's because some of the veggies were out on the counter? Lastly, it got busy on an early Friday night and only one person was making all the bowls so there was a wait.

Long overdue review I Love Love Love SALA! Been coming here for a few months for breakfast and…read morelatte cravings. They have seasonal menus so there's always something new. I personally love the Sunrise Matcha with their Breakfast burrito!! Service is quick and everyone has been very friendly. They also have wine offerings and a food menu so it's my go-to for Brunch. Their food is always delicious and fast. They have a very spacious interior. Lots of different seatings for groups or single seats at the bar.

Hmm, going over the other one star reviews, I can notice a common theme…read more Really weird experience here. First it's 7:30pm, planned on ordering a matcha and the person at the register informed me that there was "No coffee or tea after 4pm" so I choose to order a non alcoholic beverage and maybe something to eat and cashier or owner, whoever this person was tells me if I plan to work because it becomes a "laptop free zone" after 4pm. Odd behavior to tell someone what they can and can't do at an establishment considering it's called a coffee AND wine bar. Maybe this is something to advertise on your yelp and website but a "laptop free zone" after 4pm is pretty ridiculous for potential customers who were just looking to eat and work. I almost feel like he just told me that because I was going to order a salad and a non alcoholic beverage and wasn't planning on ordering much. As the other 1 star reviews mention "pretentious behavior" so it's either the cashier or whoever it was is being pretentious as others mentioned or RACIST... Kinda odd to dictate what I do on my own accord while I'm a patron at your establishment. If I ordered food and a drink but chose to open my laptop, are you going to ask me to leave? Doesn't really seem customer centric. Considering that I've worked on my laptop at dine-in restaurants, it's pretty odd behavior to display. Also, considering that this is not a club, and there's no live music, and there were only 3 people sitting in there, I think I would have been fine to sit there quietly in a corner with my laptop. 1 star for the experience and weird behavior. Like I said it's either pretentiousness or racism but weird behavior nonetheless.
