My review is based on my experience with the staff not the doctor. The doctor is always kind and very professional. During the consultation I was informed the lenses were covered by my insurance. When I picked up the glasses, I was charged for a special coating I was never informed of or gave approval for. In the past, the staff brings up any additional cost and then I make my decision. I believe the customer should be asked if they're interest before any additional costs are added to an order. I gladly paid the money, but I won't be back. read more

I took my daughter to get her first contacts the Doctor was very patient and explain to all the benefits as well the problems using contacts , as a teenager my daughter doesn't feel comfortable talking to people but the doctor was still kind that she was able to answer or questions and my daughter was so happy. After talking to the doctor one of the assistance took my daughter to try some contacts they show her how to use them had to clean them an how to put it on an take it off . I went in a little over a year ago to get new glasses. I picked Argo because of their good Yelp ratings. However, I'm not pleased at all with my experience there. The assistant recommended the glare coating. I told her that every time in the past that I had had it, the glasses would smudge constantly, and I swore that I would never get that coating again. She told me that there are 3 grades of coating and that the upper 2 grades would not smudge. I agreed to the upgraded coating, which I believe was an additional $90. When the glasses were ready, I found immediately that they were smudging constantly. I brought them back and Dr. Wang said she was willing to remove the coating but would not refund me the $90. She then gave me a couple of cleaners to use. I discovered that these were useless and vowed to bring the glasses back, have the coating removed, and argue about the refund, but then the pandemic happened and I was not able to bring them back. So every day, I am still annoyed by these glasses. read more

I argreed with some reviews about how patient Dr. Wang is, until my last check up. I needed to order more contact lenses so I went in to get an eye check up. I had a pair of trial eye contact lenses to try on before ordering new ones. At first, I thought the doctor was very thoughtful since she had taken the time to apply written right and left stickers on the trial lens containers. Later that night, I was curious what was underneath the stickers, so I peeled off the stickers and saw the expiration date was "2014". I cannot believe Dr. Wang would give her patients expired products. Double check anything you buy here, or better yet go elsewhere! read more

Dr Wang is so nice and shes very helpful at 24 she informed me i should wear sunglasses because i have extensive sun damage to my eyes I'm definitely going back to get my sunglasses as well. I'm on my second year of using Dr. Wang and I find her to be VERY thorough in her exam and very, very personable. The ladies in the office are incredibly nice and helpful as well. However, I am a bit disappointed with the 'sales' person for my frames and lenses. He overcharged me for my frames (MSRP was $40 less than what I was charged - information found on Coach's website) and he promised to call me with some pricing after checking with my insurance and I had to call him back on two separate occasions to get the information. I do feel a bit cheated from the overcharge on the frames, but highly recommend Ms. Wang and her office just do your homework on the frames. read more

About 6 months ago, I wasn't a customer of Argo but I needed my glasses adjusted. I just happened to pass by their store and I went in. They adjusted my glasses for free. As a result, about a week ago I went there for new glasses. They checked my vision and fit me for a frame. The optometrist was professional and very good at explaining things. All the staff was friendly and helpful. After my glasses arrive, I may revisit this review. read more

Do not go here!!!! During my visit today I was told that they were not accepting my insurance for glasses, which is why I came here. During my exam which was great by the way the doctor told me that since they would not accept my insurance that I would be able to get glasses 30% and lenses included. When I went to look at the glasses I was told by the sales girl who is very rude by the way that lenses were not included. When I asked her to please clarify with the doctor she told me I could wait until the doctor was done with her next exam to ask her. So I patiently waited and asked the doctor I was then again told that lenses were included. The sales girl again refused to honor this and told me lenses were not included in a very argumentative way. Long story short the doctor said she was confused and does not do sales and they would not honor what I was told so I left. This is the worst customer experience I have ever experienced. This was mine and my husbands first time visiting Argo Optometry. They were a recommended facility by my husbands employer. I normally attend Eye Care Associates in West Covina but I've been here in Upland now for almost 7 years. I thought it was time to try somewhere new and close to home. We visited on a Saturday and they were happy to add me to their schedule. It was totally last minute and they accommodated both my husband and I. We both saw Dr. Wang. We absolutely loved her. She was very thorough, friendly and attentive. Her staff was just the same. Very friendly. My husband and I are big on exceptional customer service. We were both very pleased and happy that we decided to give them a try. I'm happy to share that I have a new Optometrist. I have to say that although my family has gone to this office over the last two years, they have the WORST customer service I've ever experienced at a doctor's office. Every time I call I'm put on hold for 5-10 minutes at a time. I think the "help" is somewhat unprofessional. Whenever I've ordered glasses or contacts I'm never informed when my order comes in. I always have to call them to see if my order is in and I get the same excuse every time, "oh yeah, the order just came in today". I only keep going there because they're close and I don't feel like hasseling switching doctors. Speaking of doctors, Dr. Wang is very pleasant and enjoyable to speak with so I guess you take the good with the bad. Just wish the staff was better trained. read more

The service was good. I came in twice in a day, once for myself and another for my son. My insurance covered the exam but I was charged $50 for a contact fitting. I thought that was a little excessive. But they did price match the cost of my contacts with a print-out from another website. read more

Well it's been 2 years since my eye exam and got my glasses from here. I just had a eye exam again yesterday but I didn't go here cause I just had a feeling and my feeling was correct. My oringnal Dr. James Cutler was spot on to what I knew to be correct and that was they got my prescription incorrect. I even went back to this place and they told me that nothing was wrong with my prescription which I know me. I suffered for two years with the WRONG PRESCRIPTION!! Headaches and unable to see properly. I just KNEW!!! Truly giving this place a rating a BIG FAT ZERO!!! Shame on this place if a customer is telling you something is wrong then maybe you should have listen. Awesome family optical. They take care of everyone from my Mom to my kids. They have a great selection of frames and sunglasses. Dr. Wang recommended CRT for my 10yo son, who is extremely active in sports and constantly lost/broke his glasses. He wears contacts to improve his vision overnight, which has saved me time and money on replacing his lost/broken glasses. I was worried about my son using contacts at such a young age, but Dr. Wang was so patient in explaining the proper procedure to put on the contacts and he adapted very quickly. I love this office because the staff are very pleasant and available to assist me when taking care of my needs. They are professional and caring. I have been coming here for several years. Dr. Wang recently has been treating my eyes and I have had several appointments due to discomfort and concern. Terrible service, I bought glasses 3 months ago and the frame broke, its supposed to be warranted but they said sorry They cannot warranty them and I have to buy new frames and they can "tell" I bent them. Within the past year I purchased a pair of glasses that cost over $300, 1/3 of which was paid by my insurance, the rest out of my pocket. And within that period, these knock offs began to fall apart. Most recently, today, the nose guards, after attempting to tighten them over the course of the month, completely fell off. One of them I could not locate due to being in a grassy area. I took them back and asked them to replace the nose guards, and even after spending so much money, they attempted to charge me for such a nominal item. Feeling frustrated, I stopped by the local Wal-Mart (where my wife purchased her eyeglasses) and within 10 minutes the nose guards were replaced with no mention of a charge, but instead a thank you for stopping by, by the personnel there. I should add that while at Argo I asked the personnel there to plead my case to the doctor. She came back and responded the doctor said you have to pay the extra fee of "$10" each. STAY AWAY FROM THIS PLACE! And I pray that the doctor is able to pay her house note by some other means than nickle and diming her patients.
