Shredded Beet Arepa stuffed with black beans, plantains n cheese, flavor party in your mouth!
    Lauren J.

My new favorite food truck! Found it on ClassPass of all places actually! The best tasting Arepas I've ever had. I savored the Blonde Gringa and the Beef. So creative to flavor the cornmeal with carrots or beets that not only make them a gorgeous orange and purple color, but contributes nutritionally while giving your taste buds more pizazz! The dipping sauces are different for each one, loved both the spicy and garlic aiolis. Anything with plantains sign me up! Love how they're stuffed inside. So hearty and filling and the staff was really nice. Great little food truck park to sit and veg in too, plenty of outdoor seating and other great trucks surrounding. Can't wait to come back, this will be a chronic craving I'm sure!

This place is a hidden gem that delivers bold Venezuelan flavors with a Texas-sized dose of hospitality. The arepas are the obvious stars of the show--crisp on the outside, soft and warm on the inside, and generously stuffed with flavorful, freshly made fillings. I went for the Blonde Gringa (shredded chicken-sweet plantain-gouda cheese and jalapeño sauce stuffed in a carrot arepa). I also tried their new Pistachio Flan which is my new favorite dessert! Service was fast and friendly, and the team is genuinely passionate about what they do. It's a casual spot with a welcoming vibe. Highly recommended. Pro tip: Come hungry. You're going to want more than one.

Got the boss hog arepa and it was a Skimpy arepa for 11$, not much meat in it and lacking in flavor. Probably would not return.

I really didn't want to like these donuts, because who needs a $9 donut, right? But I have to…read moreadmit, they far exceeded my expectations. Just to be clear, I AM somewhat of a subject matter expert. I have eaten all manner of fried dough creations from coast to coast, including Hawaii, and I have a lot to say on the topic. My favorite is still Cider Belly in Albany, NY, but I digress. The PB&J donut here is one of the best things I have ever eaten. I dragged it out for 3 days. Even semi-stale, and reheated in the microwave, it was still delicious. I put a scoop of Blue Bell vanilla ice cream on it which definitely helped. I also ordered a Heavenly Hash (one of my favorite ice cream flavors BTW) and a Naughty and Nice because I am all about the classics. They were both outstanding. No leftovers. I bought these donuts in lieu of birthday cake this year which may become my new tradition. Honestly, I think these are my new favorite donuts in Austin now.

Doughnuts made to order out of an airstream, you say?…read more Looks like they used to offer mini versions but that side of the menu is all mask taped over. When we went our choices were $9-$10 donut base desserts. I say base because the toppings cover up the donut visually. Despite that, there's no covering that scrumptious taste and texture. Wowaweea. Yes, you feel your cells expand and pants tighten and it is for sure run club pre and post, but quite worth it. These divine donuts have that cakey interior I love so much. We had the Puddin': cream cheese icing, vanilla pudding, fresh bananas with nilla wafers. According to the menu. Ours didn't have any nilla wafers and the presentation was uneven, hence the four stars. I didn't miss the wafers. The icing and pudding were one goopy topping and the bananas slices were half scattered slices and half banana chunk that I had to separate. Side notes: Gourdough sits on a corner with parking spots that are not free. There's a pay via QR code so you'll need a phone or something to scan that. Boo for digital shackles. Next note- I feel like this is a low key meet up spot. Like the way they tried to make the first train cars on the MTA the singles car? There was a series of singles getting doughnuts and they were a little done up for the occasion. Who knows. With the little IG ready love seats and doughnuts made for sharing, you could walk away with extra sugar.

I was craving some Jerk…read morechicken (been in a BBQ food coma) and decided to try Tony's Caribbean food truck...yes, another food truck. I am the most adventurous diner in our household. From speaking with Tony Jr. today, they also have a restaurant in Pflugerville. I ordered jerk chicken, which fell off the bones and came with cabbage, rice and peas and plantain. I have traveled to Jamaica a couple of times, this Jamaican food was the real deal. The jerk chicken was a bit spicey but not set your tongue on fire spicey. The rice and peas along with the cabbage was perfectly seasoned. The standout for me was the sweet plantain, spoken like a plantain connoisseur. The plantain was sweet on the inside and slightly charred on the outside...perfect combination. The only improvement would have been for me to get a side of plantain. My food was delivered fast and hot. Tony Jr. was super personable and friendly. There is seating in the center of the food truck park. You hear tunes being played in the background. The food truck park is at the core of East Austin in a semi-residential area. Street parking is available for diners. I look forward to trying curry goat and oxtails and more.
