Copper Crust Co. was the lunch stop for a late-May Saturday Girls Day Out adventure, and what a…read morefind this turned out to be! My adventure buddy and I were headed to York and looking for somewhere new, different, and delicious to grab lunch. After a little online reconnaissance, Copper Crust Co. landed firmly at the top of the list. The menu looked fantastic...sweet treats, sandwiches, quiche, baked goods, and enough tempting options that narrowing down an order felt like a personal challenge! We arrived around 11:45am and were lucky enough to find a parking spot right out front. We walked inside and immediately discovered that apparently everyone else had also figured out Copper Crust Co. was the place to be. The place was PACKED! Every table was occupied and a long line stretched toward the ordering counter. Fortunately, the line moved quickly. Unfortunately, that meant we had plenty of time to stare at the bakery case while waiting. I suspect this is at least partially intentional. The display of pastries, cakes and sweet treats sits right alongside the ordering line, teasing you every step of the way. By the time I reached the register, I was contemplating lunch, dessert, second dessert, and possibly a bakery box for later. My adventure buddy ordered a classic BLT ($10.69) and a Diet Coke ($1). I decided to branch out with the Spinach, Sundried Tomato & Feta Quiche ($8.99) and a Diet Coke. Total for lunch for two came to $27.58 before tip, which felt completely reasonable. After ordering, we were given a table number and told to grab any available table we could find. This led to the only hiccup of the visit. A sign near the ordering area instructed guests to leave dishes on the tables for staff to clear, but on this particular Saturday the staff simply couldn't keep up with the volume. We eventually found an abandoned table covered with dirty dishes, crumbs, scrambled eggs, bacon remnants, and the previous guests' table marker. Copper Crust was clearly slammed. Honestly, my only suggestion would be to add a guest-accessible bussing station for busy weekends. A spot where customers could scrape plates and stack dishes would probably help tables turn over much faster when the dining room is bursting at the seams. Not wanting to hover awkwardly while waiting for staff, I cleaned the table myself and stacked everything neatly out of the way. Problem solved. A few minutes later, our food arrived and immediately erased any lingering concerns. The mixed greens salad that accompanied our meals was surprisingly excellent. Normally, a pile of just greens (plus two small pieces of pineapple) doesn't do much for me, but whatever light, slightly sweet dressing they use is fantastic! My adventure buddy and I both devoured every last leaf. The BLT featured thick-cut bacon and hearty slices of multigrain bread, both of which earned enthusiastic approval from my adventure buddy. My quiche was outstanding. The spinach, sundried tomatoes, and feta were plentiful, but the real star was the crust. Too many quiches treat the crust as an afterthought. Not this one. Flaky, buttery, substantial, and absolutely worth eating every bite. It was one of the best quiches I've had in quite a while, and I seriously considered getting back in line for another slice. Copper Crust Co. ended up being one of those unexpected gems that makes adventure days so much fun. Great food, reasonable prices, friendly staff, and enough bakery goodness to justify a return trip all by itself. Next time I'm in York around breakfast, brunch, or lunch, there's a very good chance you'll find me back in that line staring at the bakery case and making questionable decisions involving dessert before noon.

I placed my order online and went with a Hefty size Classic Cheesesteak, and a Husky size Philly Special Hoagie. Total after tax/tip was $34.00. How were they? Cheesesteak- Fantastic! Nice seeded bread, tons of meat and cooper sharp cheese. Onions were cut a little big and laid on top, so they started to fall all over the place (eat this outside your car, trust me!) while I was eating. Flavors were great, though! Damn fine cheesesteak and I would definitely return to get another. Hoagie- This thing was packed with goodies! They also use the "meat blanket" technique that I have only seen at LaSpadas down in Florida, previously. All the ingredients were well put together, HUGE, good bread, but there was a lack of tang in the olive oil/vinegar dressing. It was basically absent. That's why the 4 stars. Maybe you need to order extra or more vinegar? Something was definitely needed though. It was pretty plain tasting. Don't get me wrong, it was still a good sandwich, but it could have been a GREAT sandwich with some extra flavor of the oil/vinegar. This would definitely be my sandwich spot if I lived in York!

HOW did I not know this place existed?!…read more I went to Franklin Street Social with a few friends on a random Wednesday evening a few weeks ago, and I am not exaggerating when I say my mind was BLOWN the second I walked in. Let me set the scene: 13 restaurants. FULL commercial kitchens. One central bar. A historic factory turned into a warm, vibey, eclectic gathering space. And yes...an actual slide for adults that delivers pure, unfiltered joy. We arrived just before closing and had no issues with parking -- plenty of spaces right outside and well-lit, which is always appreciated. But the second we walked in? Game over. This place is STUNNING. Think warm string lights, wood accents, quirky design details, and little surprises everywhere you look. There's even a book vending machine. Like...what?! And then comes the real challenge: choosing what to eat. With 13 options, this was honestly the hardest part of the night. I strongly considered just committing to chaos and getting one item from every vendor, but maturity (barely) prevailed. For my first visit, I went with a tempura shrimp bowl from one vendor and grabbed a kiwi strawberry drink from another so I could at least pretend I sampled the variety. My adventure buddies did the same -- everyone ordered from different spots and we met in the middle at a shared table. That's one of the best parts of this place. No negotiating menus, no compromising -- everyone gets exactly what they want and you still get to share the experience together. The food? Delicious. No notes. The vibe? Immaculate. And yes... I went down the slide. Obviously. And you should too. Do not skip it. Pro tip: have someone waiting at the bottom to capture the moment because the smile you'll have coming down that thing is 100% genuine joy! Also -- and I can't believe I'm saying this -- check out the bathrooms. I know, I know...weird Yelp detail. But trust me. Each one is uniquely themed, and the one I ended up in had animals wearing wild outfits. It was chaotic, hilarious, and somehow completely on brand for the space. Franklin Street Social isn't just a place to eat. It's a place to hang out. To explore. To people-watch. To linger. I could have easily spent hours there just soaking it all in. If you haven't been yet, make it a destination. Seriously! I'll absolutely be back -- probably with a bigger appetite and slightly less self-control next time.

Co-founded by Jordan Ilyes and Chef Ethan Greer, this multi-vendor food hall features a diverse collection of independent kitchens, a central bar, and plenty of space across two levels. The setup is ideal for groups or families because everyone can grab food from different vendors and eat together at the open hall seating. Vendor & Bar Highlights: The Central Bar & Local Craft Beer: The bar at the center of the hall serves a well-curated drink menu with craft cocktails, wine, and local draft beers, including selections from neighboring Black Cap Brewing Company. Layali El Sham: Authentic Levantine & Syrian street food. The chicken shawarma wrap, falafel platters, and silky hummus bowls (especially the muhammara blend) are standouts. Franchesca's Pizza: Serving solid New York-style, hand-tossed pies by the slice or whole. The Hot Boy (pepperoni, jalapeños, hot honey, and chili crisp) and classic vodka pies are favorites. Greer's Burger Garage: Excellent smashed-style burgers served on soft Martin's potato rolls. The Garage Fries--a mix of waffle fries, tater tots, and curly fries--are a must. Taqueria El Camino: Highly recommended for their rich birria tacos served with warm consommé for dipping. Thai Street: Authentic Thai street food, with the Khao Soi (curry noodle soup) being a clear standout. Hefty Lefty's: Generous hoagies and shaved ribeye cheesesteaks on fresh rolls alongside hand-cut curly fries. Lighthouse 153: Coastal New England-style eats, including buttery lobster rolls and jumbo lump crab cakes. Hunnie's Country Chicken & Slow and Low BBQ: Hearty comfort food like crispy fried chicken baskets and custom BBQ bowls. Between the quality food options, local draft beer selection, and fun touches like the adult slide and two-story kids' play space, it is a well-designed, welcome spot for Red Lion.
