I live in NYC and we don't have Jimmy John's, so I was excited to see that one was nearby when I was visiting York. I was not excited to see all the negative Yelp reviews and almost opted to go with Jersey Mike's because of them. I chanced it despite the reviews since I hadn't had Jimmy John's in a few years and can get the alternative any time I want. This location was absolutely fine! I ordered online at lunch hour, but the girl at the counter was very polite and courteous. My order was ready quickly, and everything was made as expected, even modifications. The bread was fresh and the amount of toppings on the sandwich itself was totally reasonable. I was excited to try Jimmy John's as I had never ate there before and have very few sandwich shops near me with good Italian sandwiches. I ordered an Italian sandwich at a glance noting the meats that I expect to be on an Italian as well as the oil and vinegar, salt pepper, oregano, etc. Once I got home and dove into my sandwich, I was horrified to find mayonnaise on my Italian sandwich! What the heck is mayo doing on an Italian sandwich?? Mayo is not something that should go on any authentic Italian made sandwich. As a matter of fact, you should not even call it an Italian sandwich once you've added mayo. Being someone that will try anything once, I decided to try and eat it anyway and was utterly disgusted not only by the taste, but also by the ridiculous amount of mayo that was put on the sandwich. I would also like to add that the rolls are probably the worst sandwich rolls I have ever seen used to make a sub/hoagie. I ultimately threw out my meal and will not be eating there again. Had us waiting and the poor lady in the picture for mins to order, all while he was standing there making sandwiches. Two people on Friday night. Didn't have the new cookies defrosted either at 6 so I got it frozen and had to wait an hour for it to defrost. Tables were nasty. Dude making the sandwiches was so high, couldn't even open his eyes and respond to questions. I ordered Jimmy John's on 12/20/24 at 8:11pm before they closed at 9 to have it delivered to my house. I did not get my order before they closed so I called in at 9:05 5 minutes after they closed and I was told that my order was absolutely ready to be picked up by a delivery driver but come to find out nobody ever came for my order. So they were super kind to let me pick it up myself at 920 and when I got there the manager told me that the driver had came as soon as I pulled in and they told the driver to leave cause there no point. So they refunded my order and gave me the tip that was supposed to go to the driver and hand it to me. I highly recommend coming to this Jimmy John's from now on. And I will absolutely do that. Came in with a very large graduation party order (around $530 worth) . When we walked in no other customers were in the building. We started asking questions about the order with the 2 young employees that were standing behind the counter, they did not seem to have knowledge of the products they were selling and acted as though we didn't matter and that we were just bothering them. When we asked if the subs would be able to be completed at the time of pickup when they opened ( we gave a week notice) they told us they could not guarantee completion and what time they could have them by. If I could give this place zero stars I would. They got my sandwich wrong I went all the way home called when I said it was wrong the woman on the phone yelled at me saying it was correct. When I went back to get my sandwich instead of saying they were sorry they tried to prove they actually made the sandwich right. When they finally gave me my new sandwich they made it wrong a second time- forgetting certain meats. Instead of making a new sandwich they just gave me a side of meat WITH the paper on the sandwich. I'm writing this review for my father and step mom. They are older folks and really don't know much about online reviews. After hearing their horror story about this place, I decided to take matters into my own hands and write one on their behalf. They have been wanting to try this place for awhile, and decided to stop in on a whim one afternoon. They ordered two subs...one Italian and a ham and cheese sub. To sum it up....LOUSY food! They went on about the bread/rolls and lack of meat and cheese. To quote my father "the worst sub rolls they ever had". Dry as the desert, and could not finish them. Very disappointed. This is the second time I ordered, mainly because they are fast delivery and I was in a hurry. I placed my order through the app. I realized I didn't have enough cash to cover it, so tried to call. The phones were turned off, and I was sent to voicemail. An hour and ten minutes after I ordered, I received a phone call from the driver telling me his ETA was 7 minutes. He was coming from another delivery, so no idea how long my food was sitting in the car. At this point my lunch break was long over, I told him I didn't want the sandwich. My coworker a few minutes after this phone call received her order that was placed 20 minutes ago. According to that driver, they got swamped and were short staffed, which is why the order took so long. It would have been nice to be informed of this long before the order reached an hour. Very disappointed in the way they handled the situation. If you're going to turn off the phones, at least update the voicemail with a message about what's going on. Freaky Fast Fail. read more

If I could give this place a zero i surely would. No where even close to SUBWAY, and they call themselves a "gourmet sandwich shop". I ate there once a couple weeks ago due to a family member working at one of the shops in Tulsa OK. The disappointment had to have shown on my face when i was handed a sub that was flat as a pancake and had hardly anything on it. I have written to corporate and they insist on ignoring my comments. This place was another overpriced sandwich shop selling selling lunch meat slopped with mayo on a cheap white roll. The staff are mostly young guys who look like they're all hungover or stoned . We ordered two subs, 2 bags of chips, and one drink. ( I had a bottle of water with me) our bill was over 16.00$ If they first fired most of their staff and lowered their prices a bit plus invested in some better quality bread they may keep their doors open. From what I gather from the other responses the biggest deterrent is the staff. That's an easy fix. read more

I have eaten there numerous times and have brought guests with me often. The sandwiches are tasty and made to order. The rolls are excellent. The store is clean and the staff is friendly. I have never been disappointed. For a simple business meeting/ lunch or friendly conversation this store is both convenient and reasonably priced. I will go there again. read more
