I used Aptive for over a year before I sought businesses elsewhere more recently. I learned afterwards that they were recently bought out and so this explains why the customer service quality declined so rapidly in the last quarter or so. Long story short, poor communication with customer service through emails, it was as if they ignored my previous messages to them. Technicians showed up when they weren't supposed to and then didn't show up when they were supposed to. This might be hit or miss but when I complained, the manager didn't see to have much sympathy and almost seemed willing to let us go as customers. Glad to have switched to a new company. read more

I feel the products that are used do not take care of the pest problems! There is a major flea problem that their products do not resolve even after coming 2 months in a row to retreat. I tried to have them come back again, but they were no responsive. After finally getting a hold of someone, i was told we will add that "we will add it on to your next treatment". Also found out that they made changes to the contract i signed. I was told "oh you were sent an email about the change of your plan". Now with they new contract they will come every 40 to 60 days. My original contact is every 3 month. Once the contract is up i for sure will never use them again!!!! read more

Don't get sold by their door-to-door sales tactics. I don't have a beef with door to door sales people, but I do have a problem with companies who withhold information, lie, and try to deceive you into signing a commercial agreement. Looks the company is training these sales reps in a consistent way across geographies. Sales Person also lied by saying that it was a "local company" when it actually has a national footprint. If you try to call the "local" phone number, it just goes to an automated voice response system, and there is no option for customer complaints, etc. 100% agree with a lot of the other complaints on here. Company has come to my house 2 times now. Sales person does not provide a business card or any other information, lies about the company being a local business, and tries to trick you into signing up for a one-year commitment ($139/quarter) on the spot after introducing a $49 teaser rate. Sales Rep was not wearing a mask or maintaining distance from me. Had to repeatedly tell the sales rep "No" and even raise my voice before he would leave. Sales Rep will not provide business card. Update: to anyone saying that wearing a mask doesn't help, or that wearing a mask is somehow based on "fear", I wish you the best of luck with the pandemic. read more

So a sales guy from the Aptive company showed up at the door this morning. He knocked menacingly, even though we have a quite visible and functional door bell. At first, I thought he was selling the Segway/Solo device. He started explaining how their service is so much better than "whoever I have". When I said I'd have to check with my current pest control service, he very rudely stated "what is he going to do"? In general, the sales guy has a very aggressive pattern. His lines are memorized. They walk around with an iPad. At first, he offered me a Free Service just so I can check their work. When I finally explained that I do not have a credit card to give him, he got hostile. While I can not comment on the quality of their service, I can say their sales guys are extremely pushy (and not really knowledgeable about the business). They only care about acquiring business, with no interest in actually listening to a potential client. Each time I spoke, he would cut me off. All in all, I would not hire them simply based on their over aggressive tactics. read more

Their only saving grace is their sprayers, who were all great and willing to tailor your treatment. The company itself is a sham. I was told the contract automatically cancels after a year (IT DOES NOT!). Had to call in and go through a cancellation process. Personally I found no change in the bug problem, but I understand that neighbors and other factors need to be considered. They refuse to do treatments one time and say that it's "the yearly package which has quarterly visits or nothing. " I could tell the guy could care less about anyone but himself and making a sale. Literally the first time I've ever had a sales person keep talking to me after I closed the door. The guy came to my house, I politely told him we already had a contract with Amrid and we aren't interested. He acted like he had never heard of Amrid, asked me how much it cost, what they do, etc. I told him I wasn't interested, but appreciated the offer, and as I closed the door on him he just continued the sales pitch. He even sat on my front porch yelling his sales pitch at my closed front door and ultimately asked my front door what a better time would be to talk to him. Reading the reviews it sounds like pushy and obnoxious sales people are normal for you guys. i was visited by one of their VERY AGGRESSIVE door to door salesman. I kept trying to get rid of him. Don't be fooled by the star rating on here. Their star rating is skewed low because so many people think it's the end of the world that a college kid who is working hard in 100 degree heat to earn enough $$ to pay tuition rather than mooch off his/her parents or the system knocked their door to try and sell them pest control. Trust me, there's so much more these kids would rather do with their summer than knock doors--kudos to them for getting out and working to make a buck. We've got Aptive's service here in the Dallas, TX area, and they've done a fine job. Also, if you had a pest service and the next day or two you're seeing more bugs, it's because the product is working and the bugs are getting aggravated and flushing out of your walls, not because the company did a bad job. If you paid attention, the product Aptive is using allows the pests to walk over it and track it back to the nest so that you take care of the entire nest, not just the individual bug who unluckily crossed the wrong path. In fact, if you had a previous company, and right after switching you're seeing tons of new bugs, sounds like your beef is with your old company, cause obviously your new service is finally getting to the actual root of the problem rather than being a bandaid cover killing whatever happens to emerge. And finally, some last words to all you people who are so offended that someone knocked your door even though you had a no soliciting sign: So you had a "no soliciting sign," take it from me--someone who did door to door sales several years ago in Atlanta, San Francisco, Phoenix, and Madison--tons of people buy a home with a no soliciting sign already in place and don't even realize it's there. Knocking homes with a "no soliciting sign" is a gold mine for d2d sales guys because those people have their doors knocked the least and often buy the MOST. That no soliciting sign is about as effective as pouring gasoline to put out a fire. But really, if you're so offended that someone touched your door and took 2 minutes out of your life because you had to walk ALL THE WAY to the front door and say "not interested," that sounds like more of a you problem, not the kid who's trying to pay his own way while your kids are still at home mooching off your wallet well into their thirties. read more

They knocked on my door and I didn't think I wanted pest control but by the time I considered the pests that I'm dealing with and the time involved, I started to consider it. the Active crew sprayed my yard a couple of weeks ago- I was concerned about ants in the front yard and they sprayed the place. But right after 3 days I noticed that spray did NOT work, I called&emailed the center to cancel my 18 months contract as their spray was not effective, and finally the Loyalty manager charged me an extra $199 for a termination. I paid almost $400 for 5-7 mins of their work which did to work at all! this is not business! is a customer rip-off. CHECK CAREFULLY THEIR CONTRACT BEFORE SIGNING UP WITH THEM. We signed up about a year and a half ago to try and control a tick issue we were having in our yard. 8 treatments later and no reduction in ticks or other insects. I work from home and only 4 times did the techs even bother having me unlock the gate to the back yard, half the time they only did half the job at most... Horrible experience. while the service person who came out was nice and seemed competent, here are the reasons for my review: 1. there service does not show results., I had more spiders after their treatment 2. They do not call to schedule, so when they came, they did not treat for mice, did not check inside the house for mice, or did not take care of the spiders in the garage. 3. Even when you are not satisfied, they will not let you out of the contract--unless you pay $180 plus termination fee (really, that's more than the remaining service calls. 4. To cancel, you have to send them a letter?????? AFTER you current contract????? I wish I would have read the reviews before signing up! Let me start by saying their overly aggressive sales guys caught me outside playing and doing yard work with my kids, and would not leave my yard until I agreed to give them a try. I finally agreed and they flew through the paperwork. I had no idea they were signing me up for a year! We are now 6 months in and are having the WORST bug problem we have had in 12 years of living in our home. The guy I talked to in customer service blamed in on the "unusually hot and dry summer" which when compared to the last 12 years was not that unusual. We have spent hundreds of dollars on our own combating bugs. It's been gross. I'm about 99% sure that whatever they're spraying kills nothing but my plants and flowers if it is anything other than water at all. I received the reminder for the quarterly visit today and remembered I'd wanted them to cancel. Why in the world would I spend over $100 for service that is doing nothing? I was patched to a "manager" who read me the same script 3 times. He informed me that I was entitled to as many revisits as I needed in a quarter, something that the sales guy never mentioned. I told him that service alone would have made me not sign up because why would I pay that much money if I had to have you come out over and over again to correct bad work? Raid will take care of it in one shot and only cost $5.99! So then he informed me that the "paperwork" that I signed (which was on an ipad and flew through the contract as I signed without allowing an opportunity to actually read), dictated that I had a $200 cancellation fee. You have got to be kidding me? He said it was $200 because of the deep discount I received for the first visit. Ok... so... if the visits are $125 and I paid $50 for the first visit then I could see making up the $75 but where does the rest of that come into play??? So I asked, and he REREAD the script again saying "I have two options to offer you..." OMG. I guess they never taught their "managers" how to actually manage a situation. This company needs to cool it on the solicitation when going door to door. The male who came to my house was BEYOND aggressive with his line of questioning. He can see that there is a female and children home alone and continued to ask when my husband would be home. He commented "he must be gone all of the time working to have a house like this" while continuing to push closer and closer. SO unbelievably uncomfortable and aggressive!!
