Door-to-door sales people are relentless!! I work from home and the sales man rang my doorbell, despite the "No Soliciting" sign at my front door, and started my dogs barking while I was on a conference call! I had to hide myself in my bathroom to drowned out the noise until he left. He then proceeded to come back in the evening and ring my door bell again (begin dogs barking again). Seeing him through the window I yelled, "No thank you!" I waited until the dogs calmed down, then checked to be sure he had left. Nope! He was still at my doorstep! I yelled again, while he could see me, said, "No thank you, " and he tried yelling his sales pitch through the window at me! I finally had to close my shutters so that he could not creepily sit at our porch peering into our private lives. My daughter (who is autistic) was completely freaked out and confused. Thanks Aptive, for making my life more stressful than it needs to be. Have some respect! If there's a No Soliciting sign, it's for a reason. I have a company that I prefer (Abrock Pest) but the young man that just came to my door was not high pressure and was quite respectful. I said I was happy with my current service, he said he could meet Abrock's price and do the yard too but when I said "no thanks" he asked me to keep them in mind if I ever want to change. I went with Aptive because they said it's good for the environment but I found out it's good for the bugs because Aptive doesn't kill them! I had to have them out 3 times in a row because they didn't get rid of the spider sacs I showed them or the wasp nest that was being built above my door. Our backyard camera caught two techs not even spraying the yard and one guy was walking around on his phone. When I would call for a retreatment because of failed service they would try and schedule for when a tech was near my house sometimes a week later not in 48 hours like they advertise. They will ask where you saw a bug and then only treat that one spot instead of all over. Apparently Aptive thinks that bugs stay in one spot. Do not sign a contract with them! You will over pay to babysit the aptive techs that don't kill your bugs. Plus it's time consuming having to call them all the time to explain the same problem. read more

HORRIBLE! The service does not work. They do not do what they say they will do. Don't waste your money on them!! These 5 star reviews must be fake. Want details, read on...I was told that they would take care of a long list of bugs, mice, snails, wasp inspection, de-webbing etc etc. What a total lie! The one time I was home when the guy came to do the treatment, here was here for less than 10 minutes. He walked around the yard with his little bug spray can and was "done" in no time. After a year of being robbed by Aptive, I cancelled the service. Since I didn't get nearly what I paid for or was told I would get, I called to complain about the service (or lack there of), and to cancel the "service" and request a refund. Over the course of 5 days, it took me six different calls and left messages each time trying to get through to Alan B., the branch manager. I was told every time that he was out or on the phone or some other excuse. After never getting the promised return phone call from him, I called again and told them I was just going to stay on hold until he could take my call. Then some other second tier type person got on the phone an actually tried to help a little. She put me on hold to talk to Alan and finally came back and told me that he was going to review the account and that she would call me back before 5:00 PM. I did not receive a call before 5, but Alan actually did call me around 5:15. In short I was told that if I wanted them to treat for any of the stuff I was told they would just do, then I had to call and ask for it, or tell the guy when he was doing the work. My wife DID ask for wasp check and treatment and we did not get it. The analogy Alan used on me was that if I take my car to the mechanic, I have to tell them what the problem is so he knows what to fix. Well, guess what Alan, if I take my car to the mechanic to get a tune up, they know what to do. I don't have to ask them to replace the spark plugs and air filter. They don't say "we didn't know your air filter was dirty so we didn't replace it" or "you didn't ask us to change the oil so we didn't do it." Oh, and I found out that I have to ask to have the inside of the house sprayed?!?, because I'm more worried about bugs outside than inside?? DON'T DO IT! Aptive is Awful!!!! read more

I have been using this company for almost a year, but the customer service on their range of hours they provide really sucks. Even after giving me 4 hours of window for service, no one shows off or gave a courtesy call for delay. After calling them, I was informed that the technician will be there in half hour and again does not show up for an hour. Called again, gave me another half hour window stating technician is running late, no show again. Called again, gave me new range of window for hour, and no show. I could share sooooo many different examples of why I wished that PUSHY salesman had never found me out doing my yardwork that day, but I'll just hit highlights. Still have yellow jackets and wasps, due to the tech's not actually doing their jobs. After my contract, which I was told I could end if not satisfied, FINALLY ended they sent me a text telling me they would be there thre next day for my "quarterly service" of course that was at night when I wouldn't be able to call to cancel. But after a years worth of crap service, I called first thing the next morning to cancel and remind them that i had fulfilled my end of the contract and no longer wanted their service. Of course with this company and their PUSHY tactics it wasn't even an hour before I recieved a call fron their "customer svc mgr" who convinced me to try them one more time, NO contact involved. I foolishly finally gave in again after he guaranteed me that i would recieve the FULL svc from the tech, front curb to back of my gate and entire property... the tech would be prepared with even flea granules... of course he had ZERO clue to the promises made by salesman, I mean mgr. So I called and told them no more, don't come back to my hom. After all the crap today I get a notice from a collection agency that Aptive has been trying to contact me??? (They never had a problem doing that before???) That they have been trying to get me to pay a $15, yeesss that says Fifteen dollars, balance I owe!?? Are you kidding me? It costs them more to go through the collection agency to collect $15 they could've just billed ne for!! But a mark on someone's credit for $15? MY BEST ADVICE IS TO RUN when their salesman is near, they're horrible customer svc and practice of lying to get a sale and then ignorance in their billing department is the WORST I've ever seen in 55 years!! This company's practices when it comes to sales tactics is horrible. They are taught to go to anyone's house regardless if they have a no soliciting sign which is unlawful in some counties. When you respectfully remind them that you have the sign they act like they don't understand and that the sign is for vacuum cleaner sales people and that they are not trying to sell anything. Well you're trying to sell bug services so yes you are trying to sell something. When I went to get the name of the individual he smiled and condescendingly posed for the photo. I told him to please stop soliciting people with no soliciting signs . He said his company is going to be here all day and they will knock on whoever's door they want and then proceeded to call the cops on me and told them cops I was harassing him. Our neighborhood has no soliciting signs posted everywhere, as does my house. I overlooked that as Scott, the salesman, was very nice. He gave the same sales pitch - told me my neighbors have signed up, and offered me a discount on the first treatment "so they could get both houses at the same time tomorrow." I said sure, I do need pest control, but wanted to wait until I spoke to my husband before signing a 1-year obligation for over $500 for their quarterly service. Then the high pressure sales tactics came out - call your husband now - if you wait to sign, I can't guarantee I'll have time to service your home (wait, you just told me your guys will be here tomorrow for the neighbor) Then he offered an additional reduction in the service cost, first visit for $40 and quarterly visits $80. This still adds up to several hundred dollars. I called my husband who said "google the company". Glad I did because I saw the sales tactics are a scam. I canceled my Visa card with 5/3 because Aptive was billing my account to a card that was not active. Neither would 5/3 or Aptive clear up the matter. This is only a one because I had to choose something. I DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS COMPANY! After 10 years with the same business you convinced us to switch promising better service and results. Not only did the service not work, the customer service was atrocious. After speaking with you on August 1st, I called and spoke with Mary Ann to cancel my service. I explained to her the reason for the cancellation. Which was; After treatment at our building, there was a swarm of ants that came into the windows at the office. I called and request they come back out and retreat. I was told that it would be almost 3 weeks until you could have someone in the area!!! I was told they would be there first thing on Monday July 31st. I asked to speak with a manager which was then told no one was available but that they would pass my message on. I expressed my dissatisfaction as my tenants in the building were very upset. But I was told that was all that they could do. Your crew did not show up until 8:00pm on July 31st! They asked our maintenance crew to let them in the office. When they took a moment to call us to make sure it was ok, the van left without a word. I spoke with you first thing in the morning and advised you that I was going back to the company that had treated us so well for all those years. Especially because you wanted to charge me an additional fee for a service that didn't even take place and was suppose to be FREE. Against my better judgement, I paid all of my bills for both our business and my home despite my extreme dissatisfaction with your company. I have since received 4 automated calls reminding me of upcoming service. With each call, I called and left a message on the general mailbox (because they were always after hours) reminding you that I had TERMINATED this contract. Hate it when people lie or don't tell you the full truth to make the sale. I was told when I signed up that I would be getting the first quarterly service a an AMAZING discount $50, wow. Failed to tell me that the next treatment that, which was in 30 days, I would be getting charged again for the quarterly service at full rate of $120. Great business and very friendly staff. Using them primarily for bug and insect control and they are very responsive and concerned for customers. We have used them for almost a full year and had to do a few retreatments (due to previous owner neglect) and they are more than willing to come out at no cost and spot treat as needed. I would give this company negative stars if Yelp allowed for it. Last night as I was cooking dinner an Aptive pest control canvasser knocked on my door. I had actually planned on calling a pest control company because of some recent uninvited guests of the six legged variety. Before the guy had a chance to spit out his entire memorized script, I said, "yes, I need a pest control service, I have dinner on the stove though so I'll just give you my cell number and you can call me to set an appointment". Surprisingly to me, he continued asking question and telling me about the bugs and all the services they do. Again, I said, "I literally have a pot about to boil over, call me to schedule an appointment." At this point, he asked if he might step in while I go tend to my dinner. Against my better judgement I did so and when I returned the guy kept at it. I said, "dude, you got me the answer is yes, what else do you need?" This is when I see the lengthy and legally worded "agreement" that the guy was gunning for me to sign. 12 months they want you to agree to. At this point my dinner is damn near ruined, the guy is inside my house with more information than I would have liked for him to have based on scrupulous sales tactics. I pushed him right out the door and said "nope, you have to leave, do not come back". I'm sure this guy was only doing what the company trained him to do, I don't blame him. I think this company has absolutely abhorrent client acquisition strategies that border on being outright dishonest. I would never do business with them!! read more

We made the mistake of believing the door to door salesman. We were moving in a few months and explained this to the salesman. He said that would not be a problem, we could just cancel anytime. There was no mention of the $170 charge to cancel early. Only found out when we canceled and got our last bill. I called customer support and the rude lady just kept saying that my wife signed the contract and theres nothing that could be done. She even went out of her way to send me the contract, where in the 'fine print' it shows my wifes initials. She sent this to us multiple times as though once wouldn't be enough! On top of that, they send bills twice a week now to our email in addition to the plentiful mailed bills! I do not recommend this company, they present misleading information at the time of enrollment just to make a sale. They follow this up with rude customer service and assault you with never ending emails and letters. I paid for my last service, but i refuse to pay for the 'early cancel fee' since we were clear with the sales rep that we only wanted the service for a few months. read more

When I originally signed the contract hey were suppose to service both inside and out monthly and charge me quarterly. They charged 109.00 for a quarterly service and came out once and only sprayed the back yard. They also stated I have a contract and for ending it I would be charged another $180.00. I am livid with this company and will be posting also in the internet this scam. There are other companies that CHARGE $39.99 for the same service. After being unhappy with our old pest control service, we gave Aptive a try. I have been pleased so far. A few weeks after our 2nd service, I did notice a few spiders and a random bug so I called & asked for an additional service (even though it wasn't time yet - as I had been told they would treat for free if we had problems in between). I was able to schedule service for the following day. Receptionist was very courteous and told me who to expect and gave me a 2-hr window. This morning (day of service), she called to give me an exact time and Will M. arrived right on time. He was both Professional & courteous, paid attention to the areas I mentioned specifically and treated all areas thoroughly. He reminded me they will come back AGAIN if needed until we're happy! He also explained how the treatments work and how the inside treatment is different than the outside. I am very pleased with the service and appreciative of Will's time and the information he provided. read more

William W. First, the person who came to my residence did not do a good job explaining the details of the service to me as i later found out. He stated I could make my decision on if I wanted the service or not via phone through him later that day and stated and displayed the form i was signing was just to confirm my contact info. The salesman texted me later and i did inform him i would not be choosing to use their service. Later in the month a technician came to the house and performed a service and left a note on my door. I called the main office to inform that I didn't need the service (no one answered) and left it at that. Some time later another note was attached to my door about another service provided and i was emailed regarding it along with a bill for the services provided (around $95) I made contact via email and stated to aptive i did not want the service and to cancel my account that I never knew i had until then. They cancel my account and I am given a $247 balance due to canceling my account. I attempt to email several times to dispute these charges and get nowhere other than them stating it is a part of the so called contract i signed which was not shown or stated to me in anyway. So even though i told the salesman the day of i would not use the service i was still given the service and charged for it then charged when i had to cancel the service i never agreed to in the first place. I started the service on August. Paid 85$ for a $200 service (which value is not more than $50 dollars). They came and did the service at my home. It did not worked, so I called. When they sell you the service they will tell you that they will come as many times as you need (FAKE). They came again in September after my call yes, but they costed me $118 as my first quarter visits (yes, a month after I started the service). Guess what, it did not work. I called and they offered me to request my quarter visit in advance (yes costing me another 118). So I cancelled now in October paying $162. Serious companies will return you the money when the service is not working as expected, this one cost you more... STAY AWAY. read more

I told him "no thanks" enough times that he should have left, but was very persistent (i.e., pushy.) Very creepy guy came to our door and didn't listen when my mother told him we already have a pest service and started to close the door. He opened with something along the lines of "you guys have way too many ants here and you really need to do something about it", a ridiculous and kind of offensive line, not sure how often it works. I guess try to shame people into your product? Our neighborhood is generally "no solicitors", but we don't have a sign specifically on our door so I guess we don't really have the right to be upset or anything. He said something about snails and my mom decided to hear him out, being a gardener and all, and I just listened to the conversation in another room. He asked us what we payed the other guys and said he would cut his rate almost $50 to match, which struck me as very odd and unrealistic. He said he was doing work for our neighbors but wouldn't say who or even which house. He mentioned one name(also mentioned this guy was in a full city over) to compare to our situation so I don't think it's a confidentiality thing, it's just lying. I'd also like to add that he said nothing about a contract, but I've seen a lot of reviews talking about getting stuck in a contract. We definitely do not like contracts. My mom asked for a business card and his card was the company name with 2 fill in the blank spots for him to write his info. Not very professional. My mom said she would think about it and might call if she decides to switch. He said he would come back in a few hours. My mom said she'd rather call if she decides to switch. He said he'd come back at 7. She said goodbye. He reiterated that he would be coming back later today. Beyond creepy, there's no way we're answering the door the rest of today. read more

A sales guy came to my door and made lots of promises, I originally said we were not interested, he came back the next day and offered us a free treatment to prove how great they were. I gave them a chance, the tech showed up and sprayed a little, from the 1st visit I knew I had been told lots of lies :(. I came home a few weeks later to a bill on my door for service (they never called and told me they were coming). So I called immediately and they sent a guy out and he sprayed stuff on all my baseboards and sprayed the yard a little and left. Well the spray on the baseboards had to be wiped up, and honestly I think damaged the seal on my wood floor. Not only that but we have seen more bugs than ever! I am going back to my old pest control company! The customer service for Aptive insisted that I owe $219 for breaking my contract (which me and all my neighbors were not informed about) , she sent me a contract copy and the signature was obviously not mine! This is a very deceitful company; stay away! read more
