Completely agree with all the other 1-star votes saying they are supper-pushy, keep changing their quoted cost (first it was about $20 less per quarter treatment, then it was $10 less, and then FREE first treatment!?... which is it?!); AND "all of my neighbors" are switching to them, they have/ treat more coverage, are baby/ pet-friendly (organic, if that is right), AND quoting a neighbors name that I know is incorrect LOL!!!... Which is exactly what another person said! He WOULD not leave my doorstep, even though my 1-year old was fussing and needed my attention. I called Aptive today 08/20/2018 to let them know that the technician did not complete the service stating there was a dog in the back yard. My wife, my daughter and my son in law were in the house, so that is not an excuse. Also the service was supposed to be every three months. The previous service was on June so they came back after only two months. The representative said that they were having issues with their computers and that's why they came a month before ( So convenient). I also decided to cancel the account and the next scheduled "services" and the rep told me that in order to cancel I had to pay $150.00. I told her "Good luck with that" and that I am not paying anything because I am not satisfied with their service. Then the rep hung up on me, so rude. BEWARE people. This is a scam. Save your money. When I signed this contract, I signed for one purpose. Wasps. I do not have fleas, rodents, or bugs. I had an infestation of wasps in the spring and summer. My salesman told me that Aptive can take care of this. He said that the five-service contract would result in a resolution of my issue. Their first two visits did not kill the wasps - I did. I was told it would be a one year contract, an initial visit and three quarters thereby covering one year. It is FIVE visits, not four. They will not let me out of my contract. During a worldwide pandemic, I do not have the $139 quarterly fee. Today my aptive visit told me he would brush the cobwebs off the eaves around my house. I tell you what: YOU give me $700 and I'll come to your door with a clipboard. You can pay me all at once and get your visits over quickly, or you can pay me quarterly. I will be able to do for you everything with my clipboard that aptive has done for me. read more

DO NOT use Aptive. The Re-service does not exist. We were gone from the house for 2 weeks after the first service. The day after we returned, we found a cockroach in the house. We called for a re-service. The person answering the phone took my information down and told me someone from Scheduling Department will call me back. But no one did. We called 3 additional times in 2 weeks, and still no one called back to schedule an appointment. In the meantime, there are more bugs at my house now than before Aptive started their service. It has been over 30 days since their initial service. They are suppose to return for their first quarterly service now per their own written agreement. Terrible!!! Do NOT use this service! I have moths in my garage and pantry, they have been out twice and I still have the same problem. I should have read the reviews before contracting with them. I had cockroaches in my garage, they said they sprayed and left a trap, that was 6 weeks ago, today there was a 1 1/2 inch cockroach on my kitchen counter. Yuck!!! I was horrified!. Seems like a disorganize operation. Different people tell you different information and there is very little consistency. Door to door sales men gave inaccurate information, customer service gave information to secure the contract only to retracted later. These college kids have no real motivation and acumen too really know what they are selling. I was promised sidewalk to fence line service. I called in wanted to discontinue my subscription and they want to charge me a 180 cancellation fee. I did give them a few times to get it right but they never showed up on time or give me a courtesy call prior. 2 of my other neighbors also picked up the service and were dissatisfied and have since cancelled. I also did a BBB check and they're reviews aren't promising. Please do more research before picking up this service. read more

So far so good! Had a little rocky start with the scheduling. (Why 4 stars) But Jeremy showed up early today and was very informative on the process they use to initially treat the house. I like the fact they use granules for the yard. I have used a similar system in the past with good success. They treated my garage and bushes. Also got my eves of the house. One good thing is that its kid and pet friendly. We got 3 dogs that love the yard. So its good to not have to sequester them. Like i said, so far so good! read more

The company employs door to door solicitors that knocked on my door at night (8:30) without a permit telling lies about neighbors that use their service. He used phrases like "johnny down the street has used us for years." He said his permit was in the car but, when asked, wouldn't go to the car to get it. When I asked him to leave the neighborhood if he didn't have a permit to sell door to door he was rude and walked off. I ended up calling the non-emergency police number and they came and asked him to leave after he continued to go down the street knocking on doors. PLEASE DONT DO BUSINESS WITH COMPANIES THAT PAY EMPLOYEES TO SELL THIS WAY. It's a dishonest sales practice and not safe. read more

I got scammed for $200 + (the $53 initial fee, $102 for 1st quarter) for early ending my contract; however, partly it was my fault I fell for the sale pitch. The service suck, I called 3 times and every time I called I either customer services unavailable, customers couldn't hear you and disconnected, or wait at least 15-25 minutes. The initial service is just average, (a scale from 1-10, it's a 5, he spent about 10minutes). I requested that they come by 2 weeks after the initial service to pick the sticky rat traps in the attic, but didn't show up. They showed up almost 4 weeks later for the 1st quarter treatment, it took him about 3-5 minutes around the house... WTF! He didn't bring a ladder to climb to the attic, he said he comes back with one, but never showed up, its been 4 hours, I ended the contract with Aptiva, less likely he will show up. Highly don't recommend it, especially with the contract. I wish I could recommend a good company for you, but I know DEFINITELY NOT THIS ONE. By the way my sister saw rats (mice) running at night, she screamed like hell. read more

I encountered a nice enough man on my porch yesterday that was selling this pest control service. (Hyram) He made a lot of claims and promises that were compelling enough to get me to sign up and switch my service. When the service professional, Clarance arrived the following day to service my home and asked me what specific problems we were having. The more that we talked about the things I had discussed with Hyram the sales person the more Clarance had to tell me that they do not offer that. I was shocked to find out that all the reasons I decided to move over from my existing service were false and that this man wasted my time at 7:30 at night around family dinner time to lie to my face just to make a sale. I am so appreciative of Clarance for telling me the truth and helping to get my service contract canceled. Mind you their contract gives you 3 days to cancel a 24 month contract!! Horrible company, first off they have a sales person going door to door with no mask or gloves DURING COVID-19. This person climbed over our the gate that we had in front of our porch for our dog and went and knocked on the door (again no mask or gloves) and convinces my wife through the window to give them her email and name. My wife is quarantining due for immuno health reasons. I come down and tell the person that we are not interested and he storms off all angry. Next thing we know we get an email saying we are scheduled for an appointment the next day!!!!!! It took about 8 calls and waiting on hold for literally 20 minutes each time to get to someone who can cancel, I had to threaten to call the police if anyone showed up to get them to cancel. I would never use this company even if they were the best company available because their door to door solicitors have been harassing my neighborhood for days. They can't take no for an answer, and they are outright rude about it. I'm talking banging on doors at 8pm, littering their empty water bottlea and food trash on front porches of people who don't answer the door, repeatedly banging on doors when no one answers right away, telling off people who say no thanks, banging on all doors and streets with clearly marked No Trespassing and No Soliciting signs, etc. My neighborhood has been in a frenzy about these people claiming to be Aptive Pest Control reps. I signed up for Aptive when one of their people came to the door offering a free service, which my previous pest controller had done 3 days prior, but based on their pricing compared to the other I decided to give them a chance. 3 weeks later I get an email stating they were coming out for the first quarterly visit. I called and asked them to push the date out, explaining I didn't need the service 3-4 weeks after it had been done twice. No, system won't allow that, what the response I got. I asked would you fill up your gas tank if it was already full, or mow your grass when It had just been done. These inflexible idiots would not push it out. I stated if they couldn't they would lose a customer. I then asked to speak to a supervisor or manager. Went through the same thing with the same result. My final statement was, so you would rather lose a customer than be somewhat flexible based on what I just told you and the answer was an astounding yes!!!! His only comment was they would have to bill me for the "free" service. I told him customer service has reached new lows in this country, but I guess I didn't realize just how low!!! My husband responded to the salesperson canvassing the neighborhood and since we had recently had an infestation of what we thought were termites, he welcomed the person to look. The person said it was not termites but carpenter ants. He said he could spray and put the gel in the hole where he could see them coming and there would be the initial charge and several required quarterly sprays. We have one more that I would respectfully like to cancel. We have pets and requested the organic spray. The last two times they came, they used something different and each time the amount used is different. This has been the worst experience as far as customer satisfaction I have had and it was not cheap. I wish we had read the reviews before signing anything. read more

I thought their service was bad, but cancelling it was worse. When you call you are told that they cannot cancel the service, you need to speak with another department (obviously a sales person), then you are put on hold forever. Told him as soon as he introduced himself that my baby is sick and just leave me with your name and number and will call you. But NO, he proceeded to waste my 10 mins by talking BS "many ppl in your neighborhood as signed up" " will be in the neighborhood treating houses" can get your 50% off if you sign up RIGHT NOW". Telling me you also have a 5 month old son at home does not help me. If you really have a kid...you could have understand the situation better...but i guess you are used to LYING all the time that you made up a son. My first appointment was on 05/02/18 with two people showing up. One was in training I guess, but all they did was sweep a few cobwebs down and spray a few places in and around the house. They were on the property for about 15 minutes! They said that it would take about two weeks to start noticing the difference in the bug problems. They said that they would follow up in a month to respray everything. After seeing an increase in ants and webs and not hearing a word from your company on a follow up, I called and asked for some one to come out again. On 06/18/18, over six weeks later, some one showed up and sprayed again. This guy called me on my cell phone while in the backyard and asked me what particular problems I was having. I told him that I still had a large number of ants and webs around my deck and on my front porch. He sprayed for about 10 minutes and left..! Today on 07/06/18 I called to cancelled my account because I had ants all over my steps and around my trash area and very large spider webs on my front porch. When I did my own spraying, I did not have all these problems! I have had water bugs and spiders in my house and I do not feel that I am getting my moneys worth. To cancel my account it will cost me an additional $269.00, but I will gladly pay it to keep them off my property!! Really PUSHY people. They harass people even when they see 2 signs on the property stating, " NO SOLICITING", by ringing your doorbell and talking smart to you. Something tells me they are pushy and non caring to not regard a person's wishes from the beginning and would not care to use a company in this manner. Looks like they are getting a lot of complaints on YELP about disregarding people's wishes. Next time, plan to let my dogs answer the door (especially since they like to turn the handle and open the door) and call the police to see if they catch on. Please note: Repeat offenders choosing to read signs stating "No Soliciting", and against home owner wishes could possibly be casing the locks, cameras locations, etc., But we locked and loaded in here from South Side, so know the different looks people give you to gain knowledge about your property. Worst customer service I have ever experienced. This sounds cliche but I'm not usually the one to complain but each miscommunication by Aptives team has led me to become more and more frustrated. On May 28th I called to schedule my first service which was to be on June 2nd. Nobody came out during my service time that day so I called the customer service line. They mentioned that my service had been cancelled due to riot situations in my area and would call to reschedule once service was back up but nobody reached out to me to mention the cancellation. Two weeks later, still no contact about rescheduling my service. I had to reach out to customer service again and they said someone from my local branch would call to reschedule. I received a text message the following day saying my service was scheduled for that day at I time I was unavailable. What?? Nobody reached out to me to see if this day/time would work for my schedule... I had to call to get this rescheduled to a time that would work for me.. Flash forward to my service date. The technician was nice but when I asked him about being closed in this area due to the riots, he was confused and said the technicians worked through the riots. Okay.. something is fishy here and it sounds like I was lied to about my service cancellation.. Today, I have tried 3 times to contact customer service to speak to a manager about all this. I was told a manager would contact me via phone (waiting 2 hours and didn't happen) and I was hung up on by accident once (had to call back and be on hold another 25 min). read more

Went home today and there was a sign on the door that they had performed the service. I called the office and said my contract was up and I wasn't renewing. However, I had spoke with the Carrollton,TX office multiple times regarding my upcoming move (building a new home) and unfortunately since my quarterlyservice was delayed by 1 month I was charged for "cancelling" my service and charged a whopping $190.00 for "discounts" received. I spoke to the office today and was informed since I asked to hold the account until my closing day that the conflict in scheduling is a reason for them to charge this since I went 30 days past my quarterly treatment plan. Mind you- I WAS a satisfied customer but this is not how you earn and keep business. I will be shopping around for other pest control companies who want to earn and keep my business! They were at our neighbors treating their home. We were just going to try to find someone to treat wasps coming into our home. My husband went over and spoke with them. They came out same day to treat for wasps. After a week and half we still had several wasps per day coming into our home. On our own we found the location of the nest on the outside of the house. I called - they sent someone out for a "free" retreatment. After another week we were still having wasps in our home. We couldn't deal with it anymore. We hired another company to come out ($270) - they sprayed a treatment and the wasps were gone within 24hours. Even though they did not solve the problem - AND we had to pay another company to do exactly what we are paying them to do - they will not give us a credit or more preferable cancel our contract. This company is a scam and I do not recommend them. Also - we are also having more spiders in our home than we typically do. read more

A salesman came to my home around 6pm. He was sure I had "seen his truck" in the neighborhood before as he treated my neighbors' lawns. I have never seen an Aptive truck, nor did I see one that day as he was on some sort of segway. I have ant and spider issues, so I listened to the sales pitch. As I listened I could tell that the sales tactics were deceptive. He explained he was able to offer me such a great price because he would already be doing several homes in my neighborhood the next day, but that if I did not sign up for services now I would have to pay full price instead. After asking many questions I learned I would be signing a year contract, and each consecutive service price would be double the price he was offering at the time of $59. I prefer to do my research on companies before I sign up, and when I told him that he became very pushy. He wanted to know exactly what I felt I needed to research, and asked to come back in an hour after he suggested I would have had time to do research. I respectfully declined. The same salesman came back to my house that same day at 8:45pm- after dark! That makes me extremely uncomfortable and I am not at all pleased with this company. Poor boundaries are a huge deterrent when doing business. I'm not sure why any company would think it is appropriate to have sales reps going to peoples' doors at night. Any part of me that was considering services before is certainly not interested now. read more
