I was referred by a friend at work and the first 4 years, things were fine. I was not at home when they would come to service the property so for 2 years I would not have my interior serviced. When I initially sign on, the charge was 118.00, expensive but service was OK! I had a heart attack and was in hospital for a month and did rehab in Utah. So was not around at all! Payment was taken from my account and the amount had increased to 148.00 - not serviced much at all! I have had to spray with Home Defense almost weekly! So I finally canceled only to be told 199.00 cancellation fee!! Told them I was going to report them to Better Business Bureau!! read more

I've been on hold tonight for 3 hours. Still on hold. I called this company on Saturday to take care of a wasp nest in my backyard. they answered right away. Supposedly set me up with an appointment for today, Tuesday. Got a text saying they were on their way and I said I wasn't home but reminded them about the wasp nest. Got home today and the nest is still there. I've been texting the route manager too and they are supposedly setting me up with an appointment as well. 3 hours on hold and I'm in spot 3. I can't speak to the services because I would never sign up with a company who thinks it's ok to send a sales person to my house around 6pm, pound on my door multiple times like they are the police then lie to me. A sales person pounded on my door and finally I caved in and answered. He immediately tells me everyone in my neighborhood is switching to Aptive even using a neighbor's name. He then tells me he's trying to fill up spots. I told him I'm happy with my provider. He continues pitching me their services when I finally say I'm not interested but he can give me a card. As he walks away he says something about trying to provide a good service at a discount. Not once thanking me for you time or have a nice day just walks straight to the neighbors. Now I know for a fact Aptive does not service most of my neighbors I see who comes and does their pest control. I've not once seen one of their vans or trucks. Quite frankly I didn't know they existed until now. Being pushy, knocking on my door like the police and then lying all equal never gonna have my business. I get it selling is tough but try a different tactic. I may have considered a change if the approach had been different. The technician Christopher McCarty, never serviced my house at all. He wasn't here 5 minutes. My video shows him arriving at 0832, rang my bell at 0833 and left at 0836. I was in the shower and my German Shepherd would have been in the back yard. I received no time frame, text as to when he would be there. He left a note saying he treated my front yard only which he didn't. Then he charged me for full treatment front and back yards. I called CS immediately and was told that they would come out on the following Friday and never showed up. The customer service girl gave me a 30.00 coupon on my account toward the next service but I still was charged and no service was received. Very disappointed in the communication and the lack of the company follow up. This technician is dishonest and in my opinion not trustworthy. This is theft and fraud. I asked for the supervisor to contact me and no response. Very unprofessional way to run a business. read more

DO NOT USE THEM! Took a shot and gave them a chance. On first visit was explained that they will have to come back to finish the work, as they cant spray all the chemicals at one time and told there will NO additional charge. Some time passed, they auto-scheduled me without confirming with me. I called, asked what was scheduled, they informed me it was a follow up visit, and there is NO additional charge, as I explained I don't need any service right now. After the technician arrived, he confirmed the same, NO charge, just a follow up visit after the initial. However, after he left, I noticed they did charge me and are refusing to refund, claiming it was my quarterly visit. Pathetic company! read more

Ig I could give this company 0 I would, had a guy come knocking at our door telling us about this company. my husband told him we wasn't interested and I wasn't home. he comes back later while I'm home still talking about he can do a trial for 40$ and he will come back in two weeks to do the inside of the house. we never saw nobody else and he said if we like the service that all we had to do is call and sign up. we never called went out of state for a funeral seen a charge for 145.45$. Out oldest daughter said someone came by knocking. we look at the cameras it was him them praying the front. He also trespassed to our backyard through our closed gate with out permission from us or our daughter. the kicker is the cameras show him going back there and coming back two min later. There is no way and hell he did that in two minute. after we called they said we have a contract we never known about and said it was 200$ to cance. stay far away from this company. also will be sending this to our neighbor group chat to let them know they are scams and don't let them trick you. read more

Despite specifically talking about let's not even get into the safety issues--we ordered rat bait boxes for where we are in farm land and they didn't even stake them down and put them right next to MY KIDS TOYS. Do you not think that maybe, possibly that's IRRESPONSIBLE AND UNSAFE? Now let's talk about how I was over charged. By more than double. NOW let's move on to trying to reach LITERALLY ANYONE. I have called multiple days trying to get things fixed and there hasn't been one day where I have held for less than 20 minutes. This is the only number given when you need to schedule an appointment, fix billing issues, or cancel your service. THIS IS A NIGHTMARE. I received a notice that while I canceled my service I was still on their schedule. So I have attempted contacting them twice with sitting on hold for over 30 minutes each time and each time being told they will call me back. I worked as a sales representative for Aptive Environmental last summer and there are many things that they had us tell our customers about about service that simply isn't true. The "web away" that they say we put on your eaves of your house is never applied. They tell us to tell you that we "granulate" your yard which I found out to not be true and many more broken promises. After I completed my employment with them they didn't pay me my back end and gave me the run around until I threaten to sue them. But now I'm also having trouble getting paid for my residual multiyear contracts. I would recommend that you do not associate with this company and do not trust them! read more

Worst pest control company ever! I signed a one year contract with them based upon their claims on how they treat the property with granules each visit! They treated with granules the first visit and never again after that. I never knew when the technicians were coming to the house. Each visit they just showed up! When I indicated to one technician that I never received advance notice of their visits, he indicated they send out emails. The only emails I ever received were to notify that payment had been taken out! Each visit there was a different technician; never any consistency in service. The outside of the house was never treated as indicated on the service report; spider webs everywhere. Twice I had to call them back out to do the inside! This is hands down the worst pest control company I have ever used. The workers didn't spray my entire yard, only 2 patches and packed up and went home on several occasions. They never once sprayed my property thoroughly or completely, and my big issues persisted. Immediately after dropping them and using PestsRUs, my big issues went away IMMEDIATELY. I am FURIOUS! My husband and I have only been in our own home since the middle of February and kept 10-12 feet from next door neighbors. Your rep came to our door and stood within 3' of my husband with NO MASK! When I came to see why the dogs were still barking I told him to back off, he took one small step back. When I came back from looking for a mask, he had moved forward again. My husband was pressed up against our storm door telling him we didn't need your services, we already have pest control and had stepped forward again. He then tried to hand my husband a business card and I snapped at him to put it down. How many people has he stood next too today with no mask, how many yesterday? How many this week, in the last two weeks? I'm sure if he's knocking on strangers doors and breaking medical and public health guidelines, he isn't social distancing in his own life either. I am so abominably furious right now I could scream! I have multiple autoimmune diseases and additional risk factors as does my husband. They don't show up as scheduled and won't notify the customer then when inquired about why they didn't show they changed the appointment time again with out notification. Going door to door after 8pm on a weekday during a global pandemic, maybe not the best way to sell your product.

We had been using Aptive for a few years and mostly unimpressed. They visit once every 3 months and we frequently had to have additional visits to take care of pest issues. The final straw was we observed (with video footage) the technician leaving within 4 minutes of coming to our front door. It is not possible to complete service in 4 minutes. Afterwards, we found cobwebs all around our house, scorpions in excess, and even a small wasp nest on our wall. We requested a refund for the visit and cancellation of service. They did cancel the service but refused to refund us a visit because the technician did arrive at our house. They offered a free service but this is not what I wanted. I paid for service not received and I wanted a refund. What kind of company holds your money hostage and refuses a refund when they don't even complete their end of the deal? Avoid at all costs. These people claim that your neighbors are using their services when they knock on your door. The person who knocked on our door wasn't even wearing a mask. They have no concept of the neighborhood or they would realize that we are at least 50% retired, at risk, and probably already have a service. I would give them no stars if I could. As a loyal customer for three years, I would have never expected to have so many issues with a pest control company. For multiple months, I experienced not only billing issues but also technicians lying, stating that the service was performed while I was at home during time of service and no one ever showed up. This happened on four separate occasions from me all the way until August until I decided to cancel with Aptive. towards the end of my agreement with Aptive, a new district supervisor began to get involved. The fact that she was a new manager, I figured she would do her due diligence but it was in fact the complete opposite. Lidia Aguilar made multiple excuses to justify why the technicians never perform service even though they stated they did and still tried to bill me. She stated that my contract was at the end of the agreement, which still does not excuse the technicians lying. also, I had to contact customer service multiple times to correct the billing issue which in the end was never corrected and now they have proceeded to send onequarters payment to collections for services that were never performed. I would highly recommend not using Aptive environmental. There are literally hundreds of different pest control companies out there so do some research on the company and reviews to help make your decision on the best company for you. read more

I am very distressed. A man in an Aptive Environmental polo just showed up at my door during this stay at home order from the governor. He was trying to get me to sign up for pest control. I told him repeatedly through the crack in my door that I was not interested but he would not take no for an answer and got right up to my door inches from where I was. I was afraid he was going to push his way in. I quickly closed and locked my door but I was appalled at his aggressiveness mostly because We are in the midst of this coronavirus outbreak. As I turn around this kid is walking right up to me, in this environment, not social distancing, and starting a sales pitch. I'm thinking wtf are you doing! Switched to Aptive to give them a try. Buyer beware! Highly recommend you just try calling their service number before you sign up. No one is there, literally. Yes after 20 minutes of hold it literally tells you they have no reps available... The were quick to collect the automatic payment, and the first treatment seemed to be painless but ineffective. We have more earwigs now than before they came. Have been trying to call for re-treatment for days and no one ever answers the phone. After 10 minutes it rings again and goes back into a holding pattern; after another 10 minutes a voice comes on and says there are no representatives available and to leave a message. No one has called back after multiple messages. read more

Pushy door-to-door sales guy came by the house after 8:00pm last night while I was in the shower -- you know, getting ready for bed... because it's 8:00pm on a week night. Crazy, right? My girlfriend answered the door and explained through the security door that not only do we not own the house (we rent), we are also not interested in any pest control services at this time (because I had just sprayed the entire perimeter of the house one week prior). Instead of taking no for answer, he says: "I'll come back in 45 minutes when your boyfriend is out of the shower. Are you guys still going to be home?" Then, at 8:45pm, he came back! The absolute worst customer service I've ever experienced in a company. You can't call them they don't answer the phone and you will be on hold for 20 to 30 minutes each time. **UPDATE*** Received a text message May 4th saying they would be coming the next morning for a treatment. They never showed up, never called or sent a message in regards to The visit. Next week Friday, same text, they'd be coming the next day. Again, never showed up, I got a message 1hr before close to tell me they wouldn't be coming. We call to cancel our service because of their 2 no shows and we ended up paying $100 to cancel. The best part is they we're rescheduled to come today, and when my husband called he said he heard someone say they had changed it to the 17th!! So we basically paid $149 total for a pre treatment and 3 canceled appointments. Yeah, no thanks! Really happy with my service. I got an email for a reminder for the appointment, my technician Waylon Knapp, was very nice and professional. He even came early and worked fast. I asked that he text when he was done so my dogs wouldn't wake my son and he did just that. I honestly don't have any complaints! read more

I have had service with these guys 4 times. The came when they said they would and did an ok job. My complaint is that I have a rental property I am purchasing. I called to ask them to spray one time inside and out before I lease it. I was told that I had to have a year contract or they can't help me. Ok then! I called Green Mango pest control and they were lovely. They are glad to have the business and have the best customer service! When I asked how much regular service was, I found out it's $40 a time cheaper than Aptive AND they will spray the first time for free as I just paid for the rental to be done. I called Aptive to cancel and was told I was under contract and needed to pay $199 to cancel - happy to do it as I never want to deal with these guys again! And it makes no sense to me, that when you call to cancel, you have to be transferred around and put on hold etc for 15min to just get it done. Lamest company ever! read more

Decided to give them a try as the service from blue sky was good our first 7 years but had gone downhill the last few months...after 3 months I asked if they were actually feeding the crickets in our yard because we had never had seen many and then they were now in our house. Had Aptive comeback between spraying...did zero good...here's the worst part, you have to call to cancel you can't text or email...I did both after being stuck on hold for 35 minutes...that was over a month ago. they sent a text today saying my service was coming up Saturday. So I texted back "I canceled via email". Received another text you have to cancel via phone so I called again and waited on hold forever...finally a very nice girl came on I explained everything to her and she said "ok, your all set I've cancelled your account". I receive another text that said "we're coming Saturday". I responded to the text, which supposedly was a noreply automated text, and what do you know, they replied...then I get a call from Aptive corporate and they put me on hold for another 10 minutes till I got some manager on the phone and he tried saying I signed a 2 year commitment and there would be a fee to break that...I told him that was not factual because I knew we were moving in 8 months so why would I sign a 2 year agreement...I also informed him that as they broke the contract by not performing to the agreement that they were due no further financial commitment...he agreed to cancel but what a pain. Don't expect very much from Aptive service, managers, or the corporate office.  We did not receive our quarterly service that we were charged for.  We requested a call from management and never received a response other than them declining a reservice or a refund.  We contacted corporate and never received a response.  We co tacted the BBB and did receive a response.  They declined a refund and a re service with no explanation.  Very poor service. Just experienced the same thing many other have where a pushy salesperson rang my door bell on a Saturday morning claiming to know my neighbor, standing 3' from me without a mask and would not leave when I respectfully stated I was not interested in his services. When I called their customer service line they could care less about what I had to say. Since this company does to seem to care about people's privacy, health and safety, then maybe a call to the Attorney General which could lead to the business being shut down will do the trick. The Attorney General alleged that Aptive failed to comply with the peddling and solicitation ordinances of at least two Western Pennsylvania areas; failed to provide several Pennsylvania consumers with paper copies of their service agreements or a notice of cancellation at the time of sale, as required by Pennsylvania's Consumer Protection Law. The Attorney General also alleged that consumers were not informed that they had a right to receive the agreement in paper form and several consumers reported never receiving a copy of the agreement via email. The Attorney General further alleges, that Aptive disregarded the requests of some Pennsylvania consumers to cancel their service agreements and instead, continued to send pest control technicians to consumers' homes to perform treatments and billed these consumers for such services that the consumers explicitly indicated they did not want.
