The people were very nice, however I hired them for their "Weed(s) Control Program" because the ad says a 6-month guarantee for a weeds-free yard and that they stop existing weeds. They came out and sprayed, but left the current weeds (which are huge) standing..no pulling, cutting, or removal, so my yard still looks completely overrun. If this is a spray-only service, that needs to be made very clear because "weeds-free yard" sets a totally different expectation. For $195, I expected the existing weeds to be addressed in a way that actually results in a weeds-free yard, not just an application with the weeds still there. Why am I paying almost $200 to go out and have to collect the weeds? read more

I've used Magic Pest for maybe 10-11 years. No contract which I thought was great. Called them as I needed them. Started off at $40 I think. Then last year was notified that there would be an increase to $55. Still thought that was reasonable. I called today for my normal maintenance and was told it would be $200 or I can pay $50 a month!!!!! The service rep said because of 'what's going on' there have been price increases. That is such a BS excuse to price hike. It was a year ago that they increased it to $55. I'm sorry but NOTHING warrants a $150 increase in a year! I will not be using them anymore. read more

I have used magic pest control for years. Started out with a pay as you go service so month to month. That was great as my home usually needs a pest control service twice a year. Then they went to a contract service plan. I informed them I didn't want that and they said no worries I think they charged me like $80 one time and then the rest was $40 per service. Service rep was always punctual and respectful when coming and treating my home. Well I called today and they said due to what's going on today the price of services went up. I was saying to myself ok what can it be for a one time use $45-$50? This lady had the nerve to say $225 for a one time visit. Then tried to say well if I wanted every other month it would be one price or every three months the another then she said well you can sign up for a monthly visit of $50 which is a years contract. I only need the services 2x a year if that. To go from $40 for a visit to $225 is DIABOLICAL!!! I told her I would t recommend them to anyone. There are too many pest control services out here that do a pay when you need and they are not one. I know everyone has a business and needs to turn a profit but what they did, especially to someone who used them for the first time over 12+ years ago I think is crazy. Days before we moved into our new house we unfortunately discovered some termites. The owner who was selling to us had Magic Pest Control come out to do a full service complete with a one-year warranty. So we felt pretty good about that. However, about a week later, we still had termites. They were not gone. I called the office and they said, "It can take up to 30 days. Call back if they are still there after 30 days." So, we waited, and pretty much for the next 3 weeks I battled the termites that I could see with Raid. It's pretty gross when you have termites visible in your family room on a daily basis and there's supposedly nothing more that can be done. Plus how much damage is going on that I can't see during this time?? So after 30 days, I called back, and they said that they would come back out, but the earliest they could do it was in another 10 days, which was beyond irritating. If I knew that I needed to schedule them at least 10 days in advance, I would have called back after 20 days and made a tentative appointment. Every single day living with active termites was absolutely miserable. Also, if their first treatment didn't work, I wasn't real confident that another one would. So being very impatient, I called Orange Pest Control who I had never previously used for termite service, but I had used previously for regular pest control (and have been super satisfied). They asked me to read to them what chemicals Magic Pest Control used based on the receipt they left us after the first treatment, and they then said something along the lines of, "No wonder it's not working. The stuff they're using is weak. The stuff we use will fix your problem." So I had Orange come out and do the treatment. They were able to accommodate me within a couple days. The technician walked me through everything they were going to do and walked me around the yard and our house. He was extremely patient and willing to answer all my questions (and I asked a lot of questions). He said, "Technically it can take up to 30 days to see all activity stop, but...look, you won't see anything here 2 days from now." So they did their treatment, it's been a month, and we haven't seen another termite since the day they arrived. I was happy to spend that money to get a service that works. read more

If it was possible to give this company zero stars I would. They were supposed to call and or email us prior to their arrival at our home. They spelled our name wrong and emailed God knows who. Today, the pest people came to my home unannounced due to their clerical error. And they either sprayed my entire yard with my dogs present Or lied about doing it at all. We found Magic Pest Control via thumbtack (an online service site)within minutes of posting my request, Derek from Magic Pest Control had given me a call, to come out and do a free home consolation. After explains the severity of my bug problem (a VERY large number of black widows) and the fact that I have two dogs that love to play with anything they can get their paws on Derek was able to make a time slot within a three hour window of our first contact. Upon arrival, Derek was friendly, kind, and really a great salesman, the price for our house was well under the quote from the big name bug slayer, and he was able to schedule or first visit right away for the same week. When the exterminator showed us he greeted us with the same courtesy and professional demeanor that was displayed by Derek. The extermination process included spraying, adding an under hang filling to prevent repopulating, and removal of all webs, honestly I'm sure there was more but those are the items I noticed. Overall Magic Pest Control went above and beyond expected for a great price. I highly recommend them if they service your area. read more

Within days we were seeing two different types of small black bugs running freely around the house. After being a loyal customer for a number of years, customer service has become more and more complacent and rude. This company falsely advertises that they offer a 30 day guarantee of their treat services, but dare you call within the 30 day timeframe and complain about seeing bugs, they will attempt to alter the dates, from a 30 day warranty to a 15-20 day warranty. Needless to say, calling can be a nightmare, because any request for follow-up services will be met with rudeness. My wife and I even began to question whether or not their treatment solution had been recently diluted, because we saw more bugs then ever after their 2 week window that they give to wait for the treatment to draw the bugs out. Within the 3rd week, there were crickets clinging to the stucco of our home at night, crickets in our walls, bugs in our yard, etc. My wife jokingly stated that, it's almost as if they planted a bug colony in our yard to force us to call them for more frequent treatment services. We laughed it off, but began to question the likelihood. In addition to the above, like the other reviewer, I was told when setting up an appointment that their prices had drastically increased. We've since found another exterminator that offers a more comprehensive treatment service, with a 60 day warranty guarantee. We were loyal customers until your loyalty to us ended. On a good note, their service guys have alway been very polite and extremely nice. read more

However, after my call to them just now, I will NEVER use them again. I moved recently, and called to set up an appointment for an exterior spray at my new house, something I had done many times at my old house for $35 each time. I was informed that not only was my $35 price no longer valid, but because I moved, the initial service would be $85, and $45 each time thereafter. I understand that prices go up, and $35 is now $45. But to charge a loyal customer $85 simply because it's the first spray at a new house is ridiculous. I'm not asking them to do anything different than they'd done many times before. I hope they're making lots of money with this new scam, because I'll never give them another penny of mine. Congratulations on losing a loyal customer. read more

What a joke. Guy shows up an hour late, then has no idea what he is suppose to do. What I scheduled on the phone was completely different than what he showed up to do, and the price was different. He had no idea what I was talking about. I don't know if it was the technicians fault or the offices fault for giving him bad info. I asked him to do what was discussed on the phone and all I got was a blank stare. If a company can't show up on time and doesn't even know what they are there to do, then they don't need my money. Magic pest did An outstanding job treating my house for termites. We had quite a spots where termite tubes kept on appearing so we got quotes from 3 companies. Magic Pest gave us a great price and a longer warranty than their competition. After they treated they came out twice to check on our house and even treated a spot that all three companies missed during the original estimates for no extra charge. While missing the spot isn't ideal they definitely took responsibility for it and made up for it. read more

As a Realtor, our Home Inspector selected Magic Pest Control to complete the Termite Inspection. The day after our Buyer closed on a short escrow period, termites and dry rot were discovered. A phone call to the office was frustrating as the lack of simple phone courtesy is prevalent. In fact, they were downright rude and argumentative. After a considerable hold, I was informed there were no warranties on the recent inspection. However, very cheerfully, they were willing to offer to return for a "Free Estimate" to remediate the problem. When my client called to schedule the "Free Estimate" they were booked almost 9 days out. They clearly work on a volume of complacent customers. Cheap is not always the best way to go. They keep promising a call when they're on their way and almost never do, Today I've been waiting for him and just checked the front door. He showed up, did not ring the bell, and left a card. This happened two months ago as well. Last month he did ring the bell and was visibly annoyed with me when it took almost 30 seconds to put on a shirt and get to the door. What bugs me most is that I didn't request the call-ahead, they offered it! But they don't hold up to it. A handyman referred me to Magic when my previous exterminator was in uncharted territory with drywood termites. Nelson came out the day after I called him, and he and his coworker removed the base boards and some drywall around the termite area and cleaned up really well before they left. They were both very professional and pleasant. The termites appeared to be contained to the baseboard that was removed, so there was no termite treatment necessary. After not receiving an invoice from Magic, I called to ask for one so that I could pay for the few hours that Nelson was at my house. The polite woman who answered my call had me speak with Nelson, and he said that since there was no treatment done, there was no charge.
