This is a great franchise that needs an infusion of creativity and funds. Our first waitress was very gruff, but after we were seated, our table waitress was very nice. Our order was taken promptly, and drinks delivered without issue. The drinks were great and refills offered several times. Our food was good, prepared as requested. The building itself needs attention. The main front door has the door closing hardware missing, so the door isn't restrained after opening. Carpet throughout the restaurant was matted and sticky. The bathroom was clean and didn't smell. I do appreciate the items on the menu that are marked as gluten sensitive. It is nice for those of us with food allergies, have options. Do not waste your time or money coming here. I decided to give this place another chance since they've added the IHOP part. My kids love IHOP and my son is autistic so he likes a small group of food and one is mini pancakes from ihop. Well, they do not do mini pancakes I guess. And he does not like the big ones so he did not eat, anyways I got there a little bit after my Group did so right when I got there, the waitress came to ask for drinks we all just told her ice water. There was two groups of people that came after us one came a couple minutes after us. The other came like 10-15 after us. Well, we sat there and sat there and sat there. My son was definitely starting to lose his patience. She proceeded to take both groups that came after us order. She did not come to us after those two orders she was gone for about another 10 minutes maybe more. I couldn't even find her to wave her over. Well, after about 30-40 minutes she finally comes over to take our order and she ends up, sitting at the table next to us to take our order. A group was five people three adults and two kids. My daughter didn't even get a meal. She had already eaten so she got a small dessert and we also got one appetizer. The two groups next to us got their food. Finish their food while we were still waiting on ours it was extremely long of a wait. It was very hard to keep my son calm. I met my mother and my aunt here who I haven't seen in years and it was really sad for our experience to be ruined here at this place. Nobody came up to check on us, to fill our water ask if we were OK. After. Once we finally got our food, my mother's meal still was not out. She said she needed more time for that one. Also the rest of my son's meal was not out. I also noticed she didn't bring the mozzarella sticks. I was expecting them before the food and I didn't even get them with the food so I asked her about it. She said she forgot. She added them in. She did not give us utensils, napkins ask about our drinks. Nothing she looked irritated. Majority of our dishes were cold. I only ate my pancakes because the rest of my food was cold. My son ain't nothing. He would usually eat minimum the bacon, but it was cold. My mother and aunt both got burgers. They were cold with little flavor their fries cold my mother asked for crispy fries. She did not get that. I am extremely disappointed in this place. I will never come here again. I will always tell people about my experience here I spent about 90 bucks for the Group and I was extremely disappointed felt like a waste of money which is really sad. The mozerella sticks came and were just not that hot like they should be. I ended up leaving them. This lady did not even offer to take off the mozzarella sticks since she ended up forgetting them since they were cold nothing I paid and got out of there. I definitely left zero tip . Went in on Mother's Day for lunch. Seated within 20 minutes. Waited 30 minutes for our server. Watched as they cleared the table next to us. Barely wiped down. Missed several spots, leaving food on the table. When our server FINALLY took our order, we ordered everything at the same time. Asian chicken salad. Both of us ordered the salad. Mine was very over dressed and my husband's was very under dressed. No consistency. The chips and salsa were just that - chips and salsa. The artichoke dip was bland. We had to add salt to it. I realize it was Mother's Day and pretty busy, but these are their typical offerings. They should be dialed in. Then to top it off the manager came by to handle payment and proceeded to use our credit card to pay someone else's bill! He took the credit card without the bill, so no wonder he screwed up. Food and service was good. Service aside from the hostess that despite numerous open booths decided to seat me and my husband in one of the full booths in the bar area. Really? We actually got up and asked to move that table was so bad. FYI I am a 5'7" grown adult. Sitting at that table, the table was at neck level. I guess if I didn't use utensils and licked the plate to eat it would have been fine or maybe if I was 6'4 with a long torso the table would work but neither of those apply to me. Im not a giant and its weird being at neck level at a table. You even knew before u sat me there but neglected to offer us booster seats. AWEFUL. It really was THAT bad. I was insulted because she knew that table sucked. After we requested to move table she said, "yea a lot of people complain." R u serious? Does that mean some people actually suffer and remain sitting there out of some obligation? WTF! Yes, thanks for sitting me there. NOT. Fix the table. Does management even know about this table or is this table just a creul laughing joke between workers?? Just heads up to anyone else... save yourself some grief and refuse those full booths in the bar area before they seat you. Once we moved it was fine. In fact the normal table height and decent seat was shockingly welcome after sitting at that other table. Such a shame. The situation with that other table wasn't helped by the fact it was still wet from being wiped and when we lifted the menus to move they made a sticky suction sound. Gross. Fix your table and start washing your rags or use a paper towel and throw it away so you aren't smearing eww with a nasty rag. I might be wrong. Maybe it's the seat. My a$$ felt plywood surrounded by cheap stuffing. Maybe it's the seat that needs to be fixed. I did have a harder time getting out of it and I own a Miata and have no trouble getting out of that so take that as you will. But the Miata doesn't have a table at my throat when I'm getting out of the car. That table is totally awkward to the bitter end even when you try to escape it. Table height or seat height this issue is NOT a minimus thing. They need to either raise that seat or lower that table nearly 10 inches. I should have trusted my intuition. I could actually see before we sate at the table that there was an issue but I didn't listen to my inner voice. I watched to see if anyone else.... especially someone shorter than me would be seated there. I didn't get to witness someone at eye level with the table so I guess that's good. This is probably the best Applebee's I've been to. The customer service was excellent, and the food was very good. Our dinners included a hamburger, a skillet steak, and a sirloin steak. I have had so many amazing times at this particular Applebees, it was always bright and friendly, the memories were always fun. Yesterday after a long trip we stopped there because my friend wanted a drink. Walking in brought back a ton of the old nostalgia and we were greeted promptly by the manager and waitress. They did the best they could to bring this old grand dame a bit of luster. Our meals were what you'd expect, the Bourbon Chicken and shrimp was moist still which was a plus. The Honey Pepper sauce chicken was tasty while the macaroni that came with it a little under cheesy. The Bourbon steak was a hit however as was the drink always well priced. Went this morning to have a nice meal with the family. They were very busy and took a few minutes to be seated. Ordered the 2 for 25. My mushroom burger was very well done. Waitress didnt come by for about 8 minutes after getting my food. I ate only a 1/4 of the inedible burger only because I was starving. Waitress finally asked how everything was. She said she was sorry there's a new cook and hes getting used to handling a rush. No replacement burger was offered, no manager came to discuss, no discount offered. My mom ordered pancakes with a side of ham, her pancake was still cold and I kid you not her "side" of ham was damn near a sample you could have gotten at Costco, it was the size of a half dollar and not worth $7!! My dad ordered a breakfast burrito that did state it was spicy, but he couldn't even get 3 bites in before his mouth was on fire! I ordered the eggs Benedict and my eggs were not done and still runny and gooey my avocado was brown and I couldn't eat it.. That is our first time and last time since the merge. We were standing at the hostess podium for about two minutes before someone acknowledged us and said somebody would be right with us. Five minutes later we were still waiting and had had no additional contact from any of the employees. By now three more customers had come in and were waiting behind us. After a couple more minutes of being ignored we left. First and last time I'll go to this Applebee's. We decided to try Applebee's one last time. We ordered two simple meals, one being steak on salad instead of chicken with the dressing on the side for my wife, medium rare. The waitress came back that they were out of a particular lettuce which was fine. When the salad came out it was grilled chicken with the dressing all over it. We immediately asked is this chicken and she said yes. Well where is the steak and she looked clueless and brought it back to the kitchen. Aren't waiters or waitresses supposed to check the meal before it comes to the table? After enough time to put it back together it came back to the table with the steak on the same lettuce which they said they were out of with dressing all over it instead of on the side. OK we can live with that. Once she left we found a good portion of the steak was completely raw and not even cooked or edible. When we brought it to her attention all she said was sorry and did not offer to bring it back to the kitchen, mentioning they were trying to do it in a hurry and walked off. I ordered another Arnold Palmer and she brought out ice tea instead. So with our raw steak which she could not eat, we got the bill and there was no sorry's, no reduction for the raw steak which we were charged an extra $12 for and the waitress didn't say thank you or how was your meal. Hard stressful day, wanted a margarita. Ordered the "perfect" margarita to enjoy. Got the food before the margarita and they were NOT busy. I'd happily wait for a good one but it was terrible. Tasted like lemonade. Couldn't taste even a drop of tequila. Husbands burger looked ok. Good onion rings and our server was really sweet, or else I'd give one-star. I'd love to see at least one semi healthy option but it was hard to find. We come over from Fort Bragg often and if the simple $10 margarita had been even remotely good, I'd go back, but hell no, I'm over it. Tried it and not impressed.
