Took the family here for dinner and was not impressed at all. Got the hot roast beef dinner and the gravy tasted burnt McCormick powdered gravy, mashed potatoes had no flavoring, and meat was dry. My kids had the burgers and spaghetti and didn't even attempt to finish the first half of there burgers and my youngest resulted to eating her noodles individually to try to eat her food. A pleasant burger and shake shack has now postured itself as a high end eatery. It is not an affordable night out or luncheon for the retired patrons. This is a small town diner - so let's be realistic with the reviews. I brought my dad here to grab dinner and he's been in this areas for 30 years and had never been. We saw they had a great menu and decided to go for it. First, the staff, so attentive and amazing. They were friendly and so kind to my elderly father. They made sure the temperature of the whole restaurant didn't make him uncomfortable and made sure his food was perfect toy the way he liked it. The food was actually decent- dad had the chicken gumbo (which as Southerners didn't see this as gumbo, more of a chicken spicy/hot soup) still tasty, dad finished it. He had a ground steak which was cooked perfectly and covered in gravy. His only feedback was the mushrooms were chewy. I had the fish and chips, great fries, nice fish but the house tartar sauce was the star of the show! Overall- it's totally a great place to grab a meal after a day at the lake or driving through or for a family meal. read more

I got lunch instead of the usual breakfast today! The burger was delicious and huge and that chipotle sauce they gave me on the side was so good with a lil smokiness. Went for the upgraded fries and they were well made. $4 for anything not reg fries but at least they tasted good! Overall party good. Since retiring and moving back to Lake County, it's absolutely fabulous to have RENEE'S who deliver quality, delicious, mouth-watering entrees. I am giving a one star for the service we received and the attitude of the owner. We ordered one dish and they brought another that was similar which my partner thought was just their variation on the dish. In addition they offered a list of sides with the dish without pointing out the some of the sides added $4 to the bill. When we requested that our bill be adjusted the manager/owner came over and accused my partner of having eaten the dish and suggested he should have noted what was on the menu about the upcharge for the soup when we are new to the restaurant, didn't notice it and weren't looking at the menu while we were ordering. His attitude was basically that I am right and the customer is wrong. When I pointed out that that good service recovery principles assumes the customer is always right and that it will create better good will and customer retention he gave in and refunded our bill. However by then I was so offended by his attitude and treatment that I decided to never eat in his restaurant again. His loss not ours since the food was only mediocre at best anyway. read more

Came here last night at closing. It was a couple minutes past 8:00. Having been a regular patron and experienced great service, but the new owner,Danny was extremely kind. Michelle, the waitress told me that she could whip up a salad to go. Totally my bad for rolling in late. Told her that I was starving for a Club sandwich, to which the owner,Danny replied, come on in and sit down and eat. We'll be here for a little longer before leaving. How nice!! I went with a friend for lunch on a weekday. Good, friendly service. We ate outside. I had the country skillet. It was delicious and very large portion. I took home most of my meal and it made 3 more meals for me. My friend told me Renee's has the best fries & requested chili fries (we didn't see them on the menu). The server said "of course we can make them for you". We appreciated that. Hers was also a large portion. I sampled some and they were very good. read more

5/22/2022 - Stopped in with friends to have breakfast, met up with some friends who had already dined and were leaving. This place was suggested to us by friends who come up here every year for a fishing trip and I have friends who just moved up here too. My breakfast was heavenly!!! I ordered the taco omelette which consisted of a hamburger patty, spicy salsa, sour cream & cheese. I asked for avocado which is an extra charge. I paired my omelette with hash browns which were hot of the grill and a biscuit. They had jams & jellies on the table, but brought other condiments to you. They kept the coffee cups full so your coffee was never cold. My group was raving about their breakfast every one was satisfied!!! My cousin & I shared a table and her bacon, sausage and cheese omelette with hash browns and pancake total was $38.00. That was a very, very good breakfast with very good attentive service. We were able to enjoy a ride around the beautiful lake and had a safe trip home. This made a very beautiful weekend for us!!! read more

It took 15 minutes after we asked for water to start with to get our order. When we ordered my party asked for coffee. The waitress asked would you like cream with that? Yes please. 30 minutes after the 15 minute wait to order we finally had our order. Just 2 people in our party and they definitely weren't as busy as when Cindy owned Renee's WE WANT THE OLD MENU BACK, not the "new" menu which is virtually the same as Star's Restaurant in Ukiah. Since the owner of that establishment is the new owner of Renee's. WE DONT WANT MACK AND CHEESE BITES AND JALAPENO POPPERS AS A SPECIAL also we want the Meatloaf back, fried chicken, hamburger steak, and ribs. Along with the option of salad for lunch or dinner, not coleslaw and the option of baked potato and soup or salad for a side for dinner. We dont want premade Sysco Foods. The hot beef sandwich didnt cover all the bread like a hot beef sandwich is supposed to. Also the giant burger on the dutch crunch roll didnt even make it close to the ends of the dutch crunch roll.
