Came here twice while on a fishing trip. When you pull up they have the smoker outside going and your mouth will start to water, because who doesn't love the smell of BBQ smoke going when you pull up to a BBQ joint! Had breakfast one day. I didn't get any pictures. But I had the chilaquiles with steak. There wasn't a lot of steak and the spicy potatoes were average. Also for me there was too much of the sprinkled cheese. Came back before leaving around lunch time and I had the grilled fish sandwich. It was ok. Not a ton of fish on the sandwich. For the area I'm sure the local probably love it. But for me it was a place to eat while I was in town. I won't be too hard on it, because if I was to go back I'd probably come again if I didn't feel like cooking. read more

Well, there's quite a bit on the menu and many beer choices. I love BBQ and I've eaten there several times. Only thing is, it seems a bit dried out and not "fall off the bone tender" for me, ( besides flavor) that's what I look forward to in bbq. Quite pricey for what you get in my opinion. Might be worthwhile if it was prepared with more of a tender bite and MORE SAUCE! It's been a while since I've eaten there, but I might try it again sometime. Nice view on the lake (outside dining) & friendly owners too. If I remember right, they need some more help with waiting tables and taking orders. Sometimes it's busy and they also provide takeout orders and then there's quite a wait just to take your food order. Party of 2, 1st time here. My strawberry Margarita was delicious, I requested chamoy & tajin on the rim my hubby ordered the IPA . For dinner I ordered the fish tacos & hubby ordered the crunchy steak tacos, both just yummy . My fish tacos were perfectly seasoned, cooked & crunchy. Breakfast foods Chilaquiles &Crispi Hash Browns were amazing, best I ever had. I made sure to speak to the chef & complimented him on the great food. They were very busy the waitress was all over the place & did a great job. Coffee was bold & strong just to my liking. Went back for the Happy Hour, brisket slidders were soft & moist & very Tasty. The wine Margaritas were ok for wine, needs TEQUILA. Bartender could have been more attentive as her tips depend on it. She's young, she will learn as she goes. The food was good! Lots of options. My boyfriend got the chocolate pancakes and they had Nutella in them which he thought was a great add. Everything comes pre buttered which is a great white glove service. The service was great - love the people there and that was the best part! Stopped in for dinner at 5pm and it was empty. Places filled up by 6pm. We got the pulled pork fries which were delicious - thick cut fries, cheese and pulled pork, delicious! The sodas were large in size and they had Pliny on tap for $5 for happy hour! The BBQ ribs and chicken were good, Mexican platter was good, and the service was great! Only one server working and she was working really hard serving 8 sets of guests. She had a great attitude and very attentive. The lack of stars is for cleanliness. Food: 4/5 I tried the Cajun chicken pasta and the half-smoked chicken. I felt these were both delicious but slightly on the salty side. The chicken was excellent. Smoked to perfection. With the pasta, I love the diy salad bar, you can add which veggies you want to eat, and sprinkle them on the pasta if you feel like you need it. Service: I order to go, but the lady helping me was very kind and overall only 15-20 min wait. Ambiance: Inside I've seen it be busy here before, first time inside. Waitress had a runny nose, wiping her nose as she brought us our meal. The floor needed sweeping, with crumbs and food all over the floor. The atmosphere looked dingy and dirty. The food wasn't good, the clubhouse I ordered was full of lettuce and pieces of old looking food. My friend enjoyed her cheeseburger. When I paid the bill the waitress told me they ran out of ones. I stopped at this restaurant on Thursday, September 19 around 1 PM. Here is my honest review: The good: the flavor of the chili and the flavor of the macaroni and cheese were good. The soda was very large. The bad: the chili was watery and the macaroni was undercooked. I got about 4 ounces of brisket and two ribs for $30 including the two sides. Both meats were drastically overcooked, tough, and not fresh. No one ever came back during my meal to see how it was or offered me another beverage. I had to ask for napkins and I never did get any cutlery. Even the garlic bread was blackened. Overall, a 2 out of 10. I will not be back. read more

Bbq ribs, brisket, hot links, pulled pork and tri-tip were delicious and tender:side of garlic bread with butter and corn was included. Our first time in this town and stopped at this restaurant and it is one of the best bbq places we have had. Then had to go back the next day and tried their combo plates again. Brisket is our favorite but we also had their pulled pork. Wonderful experience. Service is good and love that it's pop and mom store. Family feel. Chips and salsa are good. The food was great. Tri-tip had a subtle oak smoke flavor and the French fries were crispy and not oily. The service was awesome. We were greeted was we walked in and there wasn't a wait to be seated on a Sunday. The restaurant is clean with a calm/ relaxing atmosphere. The food is o.k. and the portions fine but the service is typically mediocre . some of the wait staff act like they just want you to hurry up and get out. I used to eat there about once a week until The last time I ate there., the waitress was friendly until she saw I was leaving only a 5.00 tip for a 20 dollar meal. The smile she had left her face as she grabbed my money and she just turned and walked off. I should have known better to even bother to eat there once I saw a "tipping guide" plastered on their door. I will not have a restaurant or anyone else tell me how much I should tip. Stopping at Romi's on our drive from the Redwoods to Sacramento, hoping for a solid meal, and was underwhelmed with our experience and the food. The set up of the restaurant is promising as the bar, decorations, and layout seem to work. Unfortunately, the execution of the meals wasn't what we hoped. I orders the half chicken and honestly it was super dry. The bark was nice, and the smoke ring was clear in portions, but I couldn't eat about a third of it even with extra sauce... which was served in clearly dirty plastic bottles (old dried sauce covering the caps as well as some behind/ under the taped on labels). I could be wrong, but I think the bottles were recycled and refilled from store bought sauces? I'm not against up-cycling but I do question sanitation and food safety with stuff like that. The rest of my group ordered the pulled pork sandwich (which seemed standard, Mile high fries (which really should be served with their cheese sauce instead of shredded cheddar), and the tri tip sandwich ( which really didn't come across as a bbq sandwich). We sat out on the patio which was nice, and our server was polite and friendly. It did the job, but unfortunately wouldn't recommend stopping here. read more

Many photos on Yelp do not match what we received, fresh cut fries for example, but the sauces are really good. We tried some chicken, pulled pork, and tri tip and while they were not the best meats I've ever had on a BBQ trip they did the job to satiate my hunger for the long drive back home. I've been coming to Lake County for many years; since the late 60's.... Romi's hasn't been here that long, but it's been here for quite some time and I never visited, until today. I'm not sure why I waited so long... The BBQ is really good. The ribs are very good, my wife and daughter both had pulled pork sandwiches and reported that they were really good. My brisket & rib plate included garlic bread, a cob of corn, and two sides. I picked soup of the day (baked potato) and Mac & Cheese. The sides were both pretty good. My wife ordered coleslaw with her sandwich and my daughter ordered fries with hers. The slaw didn't rate well, but the fries were very good. This is a great spot for some local BBQ when you're in the area. Prices are good, portions are good, and the food tastes good. What have you got to lose? I'm sure we'll be back! read more
