LOVE this place! their burgers are beyond wonderful. Daughter eats well done and it's still juicy. the fries are good but last time too salty. Enjoy this place. read more

Don't be fooled by the 4.3 stars. The place is just a run down shack on the side of the road. The only place to sit is out back on a couple of dirty picnic tables with flies, cobwebs and spiders everywhere My wife had the tri-tip sandwich. It was a roll, some tri-tip and too much sauce that just made the roll soggy. The tri-tip tasted like it was smoked but the meat was not very tender. I had the smash burger. It was just a hamburger. $32.00 for both with 1 Diet Coke I think if you're traveling through town and want to sit down to enjoy your lunch, I would pass on this place read more

Poor attitudes & customer service. Fries not hot. Meats dry! Would not recommend this place.

Came in after receiving a recommendation from the owner of an establishment I visited. Pulling in you can smell and see the smoke of the BBQ being made. Parking is limited. Seating is located outside, picnic style. No individual seating outside. No seating inside. Cash or Venmo is only accepted. There is an ATM machine onsite. Luckily, I had cash on hand, otherwise you're hit with an ATM fee from the machine and most likely your bank. I asked an officer who was eating outside what he recommends. He told me to try the trip tip. When I got inside I asked the woman behind the counter what she recommended. "I don't eat meat". Crazy response but she followed up with burgers or tri tip are people's most ordered. I went with the tri tip sandwich. It was plentiful and the fries were nicely salted and plenty. Full happy belly. The container I believe was biodegradable. Sandwich, fries and soda came to $20. I'll be back to try more of the menu soon enough. 4.75 stars! read more

Food was OK. Lots of flies all over food in the kitchen, cash/venmo only, lack of drinks, and overuse of BBQ sauce kind of took away from the experience. The picnic tables tucked away in the back had little more to offer than shade. Service was friendly and took care of us when they made a mistake. read more

Best BBQ I had in a long time! They truly know what they're doing, we order baby back ribs and sandwiches and oh may delicious They service is good, cash only, and they have a small sitting area. read more

OMG....not sure if you're a local or passing thru as a tourist bass fisherman, wine taster or valley person headed to the coast... you gotta give this place a try....big portions, awesome authentic BBQ, great guy and staff who pour their heart and soul into their food....he could use the support...locals have vandalized his business and stole from his place...every meal I've had is better than the previous...rare in lake county to have such good ample portions at a reasonable price. Check it out!!!' read more

My husband had the gourmet burger. He said it was really good. It was not his first choice though because the lady at the cash register wouldn't change the cheese on the mushroom burger. I had the Betsy Club. Unfortunately, it was bland, soggy and had a bone in it. Their fries were soggy and limp. Overall not the best experience. We won't be going back. They only take cash or Venmo. read more

Cash only. Mac and cheese was more like macaroni salad. Beans no flavor. All the meats are drowned in bbq sauce. Absolute mess. Bbq sauce was very runny like water read more

i go to Clearlake oaks to visit my auntie often and finally decided to stop here for a bite. The food was Amazing. i got the tritip french dip. Delicious and not skimpy on the meat! My BF got the Dannys tritip and he loved it. They come w a side. He got french fries house cut and made. Yum! I got the coleslaw (no horseradish in it thank goodness.). It was okay, but I wasnt there for the coleslaw. It is reaaaaaly tiny on the inside, but they do have seating in the back and a small spot in the front. Very loud because it right on the roadway. The service was order inside and they call your order out when ready. I cannot believe we have never stopped here before. I will admit you do have to look for it. Do be prepared it is cash only. They do have an ATM inside if needed. read more

Had delicious bbq chicken, super tender and juicy and enough for two meals with sides ( which I did not try). But I'll be back.

Food was great! We got the New York steak sandwich and Danny's tri-tip sandwich. Both were delicious. Service was friendly, and they have covered picnic table seating out back. They only take cash, though, so come prepared for that. They have an ATM on site, but there are fees. read more

Dry, flavorless, trash sitting outside smelled awful (certainly didn't help). They were nice, which is why it's two stars instead of one.

I drive by this place often but it's never open because I'm too early. So I stop by today and got the 1pound of brisket. It was ok not really moist and way to much bbq sauce for me but that's me. If I new it came with that much I would of said no sauce. I go back and try something else if I was over that way again. Oh and it's a cash place only by the way read more

Three visits and each time they got my order wrong. All three times the person working the counter seemed annoyed having to take my order. The BBQ is average and drier than most. Everything is overrated and overpriced. I gave them three chances but now I am done. Try it yourself but be sure to check your order prior to leaving. read more

Have been here multiple times before but always got the ribs or other barbecued meats which have all been fabulous. Today I wanted something different and a little lighter, so I tried their vegetarian sandwich, which is basically a Portabella Mushroom Burger. I don't know what kind of secret elixer they marinated the mushrom in, but it was amazingly rich and flavorful. It comes with one side, and the sandwich includes lettuce, tomato, cheese, grilled sweet tender onions, avocado, mayo, and you can get pickles on request. This is definitely going to be my go to here now, it was truly the best Portabella Mushroom burger I have ever had. Now let's talk about the cobbler, they have a few fresh baked varieties daily, today was Peach, Apple, or Blueberry. I chose the Peach, it was warm, gooey, not overly sweet, and the crispy carmelized top was scrumptious. If you are traveling by I highly reccomend Danny's, the man is a BBQ artist, and his burgers and sandwiches are top notch also. I only wish they made onion rings, I love onion rigs with a good burger. 5 stars 2 thumbs up read more

This is the first time I ordered the ribs because they have some nice ratings. However, the ribs cannot be eaten as they were warm, not hot and they were hard as a rock as if they were not made today. In fact, I definitely know that they weren't made today because they don't taste like they were fresh! I could not eat even one! . They are not falling off the bone they are stuck to the bone very very disappointed.! Not good at all I had to throw away the whole order after the first two bites! read more

The food here was fabulous. I enjoyed the smoked chicken sandwich and potato salad. My hubby and son both had burgers and loved them. It's a small place with outdoor seating that is shaded. So be prepared to either sit outside, in your car or take it to go. The outside seating area is two on tables and it's family style seating. The staff was very friendly. They only take cash but they do have a ATM in the area where you place your order. read more

Good quality BBQ! We just popped in here on our way through town. I had the famous steak and it did not disappoint. It's good size and packed with meat. In my opinion, it needs a little sauce and then it's a 5 star Sando. My wife tried the macaroni salad and the peach cobbler. These were awesome! The prices are extremely fair for what you get. I'll be back! read more

Ordered the BBQ burger, garlic fries, coleslaw, & baked beans. Total was a little over $24 BBQ Burger: It's massive, huge chunk of meat, but didn't really have any astounding flavor to make me say wow. Was pretty messy, and flavors were bland. All I could taste was bbq sauce. Became soggy very fast. Garlic Fries: just fries with minced garlic on top. I figured they would have at least mixed them. Fries themselves were pretty regular. Coleslaw (not pictured): homemade for sure, but lacks sweetness that one expects when ordering a slaw. Baked Beans (not pictured): They forgot to put them in the bag and by the time I realized I wasn't going back. Place was busy, and smells delicious outside the door. The flavors of the items I ordered were very basic for the price I paid. If I go back, I will be ordering the ribs or the chicken, pretty sure that's what smells so good from the outside. read more

What an amazing little place. If you're looking for a good sit down with cloth napkins, this isn't it. It is, however, worthy of the 5 stars for food and service. Son had bbq tri tip sandwich with caramelized onions, peppers, and provolone cheese. One bite and his eyes went to the back of his head. He inhaled it. I had the bacon burger. Omg. Juicy, huge patty with good amount of fat. It sat on a perfectly grilled bun that crunched when you bit into it. And the fries! In 'n Out burger should take a lesson on how to cook fresh cut fries perfectly. They were crunchy with pillowy soft middles. And the flaky salt on top sealed it. They also have their own smoker and I saw racks of ribs, tri tip, chicken, etc. we have a smoker and the quality looked good. From the service front, staff was super nice and helpful! Just remember this is a cash only business there is an atm inside tho if you need it. read more

Stopped for a quick lunch on my way through town and was lured in by the delicious smells emanating from this true bbq joint. Lots of amazing options and everyone seemed pleased with their delicious feasts. I preferred the "whatever" burger and it was thick and juicy with a perfectly toasted bun and fresh cut fries. Cooked promptly but not too "fast". Delicious food, respectable service, and a cute dining patio garden that I would love to try next time! read more

They do have charcoal BBQ station, and they are really good to make steak in American style, The only problem was no dinning area just patio with no heater which was awful, since the day of our visiting , it was cold and rainy. Anyways the lady who was cashier was super friendly and the cook was outgoing, and not grumpy. read more

The whatever and the meat lovers Burger are really good, the bacon is usually crispy the burgers and brisket are normally juicy, my one suggestion is they smoke their meat way too fast and I understand that it's a time constraint, but I would love to have 12-14 hr cook, low and slow but you can't have everything, it's a small place and small parking lot but I think that's what makes it special and in Lower lake there isn't much options for a picnic area unless you want to drive 20min by then the food is soggy if you open the container the food will be cold, but that's not the resturants fault at all. read more

The best BBQ. Always deliver delicious ribs, burgers, tri-tip and pulled pork. The coleslaw is my favorite!

This is the type of place I dream about encountering on the roadside. I'm far from expert in BBQ but I think this place is BBQ done just right. Stopped in for a super tasty and satisfying lunch here recently thanks to yelpers pointing it out and definitely plan to be back. I was looking for the smoked turkey sandwich I saw in yelp reviews and photos of the menu. Turns out they don't smoke turkey anymore but the nice lady at the counter let us know they replaced it with smoked chicken and the sandwich typically comes with avocado and bacon so all was not lost and-- OMG the smoked chicken was so good! I don't even typically love the taste of smoke in my food (one reason why I'm not an expert in bbq) but to me this is what smoked should be like! So, so tender with subtle smokiness. Zero dryness whatsoever. And the roll and everything else in the sandwich was super fresh! My companion also raved about the Tri-tip French dip. French fries handmade and cut to my preference in thickness- not too skinny- enough substance to taste the potato goodness! The best traditional macaroni salad I've ever tasted! Just right amount of mayo, fresh little celery bits, pasta shells cooked just right. If all bbq joints were like this maybe I WOULD be an expert in bbq tasting. Attention to detail in all of our food really showed. We don't usually eat dessert but were very tempted by the trays of fresh homemade fruit cobbler on the counter. OK I know I've used the words fresh and just right a lot in this review but that should be a sign. Looked like they have a brick smoker making the magic happen that you can see from inside and from the road. Since it's a small, unassuming and aptly named roadside kitchen, no space for seating inside but they have a nice little back patio nook surrounded by greenery for enjoying your meal outside and of course there's takeout option. Also of note: cash only with atm machine conveniently located inside. Also convenient is their literally roadside location on 53 close to the intersection with 29 between KFC and Fosters Freeze. Look for the BBQ Burgers and More sign and stop in for a taste or you are missing out! Thanks to the good people who put in the time, care and effort to provide this precious resource of quality fresh homemade food to the public! Keep up the great work it is so appreciated but I'm sure with all the rave reviews they already know that read more

Huge portions, super rich and flavorful bbq, really fresh buttery bread... I barely finished half of my pulled pork sandwich. It's very heavy food. I'm personally not the biggest fan of bbq in general but for a bbq place, this was quite good. There's shaded outdoor seating in the back. Signs were a bit weird to be honest but it has its unique own charm. read more

We ordered the two rack pork ribs with two sides special (baked beans and garlic bread) and two pounds of beef brisket. As lovers of BBQ, restaurant bought and homemade, we weren't exceptionally wowed but it was a nice treat for food in the area. The sauce is definitely on the sweeter side and the brisket was leaner than we would've liked making it a hard chew so not super juicy as we generally like. Garlic bread is tasty and they give a generous portion as a side. They do have a delicious spicy BBQ sauce which we asked for and was given a small cup. When asked for more, we were told it would be an additional $2. After spending $65 +, I would've hope that to give us some extra hot BBQ on request would've been a nice gesture. Service is nice but hours are not always stated correctly. If you roll by and they're open and you're in the mood for BBQ, stop by and check it out yourself. read more

As I really enjoyed the ribs from here the sides are completely lacking. I do enjoy good bbq meat but I felt this place was only worth the 4 stars. It could be a five with same changes to those said side dishes and better Price *update I'm removing a star because I've eaten here a few times recently and every single time the fries are not cooked all the way, limp like I'm eating a raw potato. Although I do appreciate using fresh potato's, even when ordered crispy they are always under cooked. EVERY time. I do love there pulled pork and some other items on the menu, however I feel like everything is just thrown together real quick (probably why the fries are never cooked all the way) and it's frustrating to say the least read more
