Just picked up 2 pizzas for my mom's birthday. We ordered 2 "Fairways". They SHOULD have been identical, but they weren't. One seemed fresher and everyone liked it better than the other one. The better one was devoured, the other was less than half eaten. We like Slam Dunk, but this is the 2nd time they got something wrong. read more

Slam dunk pizza is half pizzeria and half arcade. We chose this place specifically for that reason. We had two kids with us, pizza is the common denominator that everyone will eat plus the arcade that excites the kids. So pizza alone I would give 4 stars. Not the best pizza I've ever had but definitely a respectable pizza. Good crust, good sauce, plenty of toppings, no complaints about the pizza. The arcade had some really nice, newer machines and enough variety that $10 kept each kid busy for half an hour. There was no one manning The ticket-prize counter so we had to ask pizza staff, and they sent someone over on their leisure, a wait of probably 15 minutes. The main issue here is cleanliness. My no-filter matter-of-fact 8 year old said when we walked into the arcade space "mom, why does it smell like a public bathroom in here?" The restaurant area smelled ok, but bathrooms in the restaurant where pretty gross too. Prices were a little high IMO. A one trip salad bar with a small bowl was $9. They also charged .75 cents for a side of ranch "or $8 for a bottle". Where's the roll emoji when I need it. I'm buying 60 bucks in pizza , give me a damn side of ranch. Summary- good pizza but kind of overpriced and not particularly clean. read more

If you are stopping in Ukiah for the night, I recommend choosing this place for dinner. I think the vibes of the whole place honestly just fit the town. The man who helped my boyfriend and I was extremely helpful, very nice, and VERY funny!! He made the experience 1000/10. The food was all good, the chicken Caesar salad was VERY DELICIOUS. One of the best I've had honestly. $63 for pitcher of beer and all the food in the pics, not too bad. Better to support them than a chain in my opinion. The arcade was very fun and had a great selection of games in my opinion :) ones I've never played!! Super fun place whether you have kids or are coming with your partner!! Nearly every review I had read about Slam Dunk Pizza mentioned two things: tasty pizza and friendly staff. So on my last visit to Ukiah I had to try it. I am happy to report the reviews are right on both counts. Right off, I want to thank Luis, who fixed my mistake by phone after a fail on my part with the online order. I love several kinds of pizza, and Slam Dunk will make half and half pizza to order, so I ordered 1/2 jalapeños and pineapple (don't judge) and 1/2 mushrooms and caramelized onions... but accidentally put pineapple on the whole pie. Luis took care to correct that for me. The server at the register was taking a phone order when I arrived, but interrupted herself to let me know she saw me, which is polite and not always done. She actually encouraged me to check my pizza before I paid; something I always do, but that seems to annoy some cashiers. The side caesar salad was perfect: moist but fresh and crisp. The pizza was perfect too. The crust was thin but chewy, with cheese melted perfectly in the edges. Caramelized onions added just the right touch of umami. One thing I also noticed was the game area is separate from the eating area, which is smart. I'll be back! read more

Pizza tasted great. I opted for double pepperoni double cheese. They had cupping pepperoni as a choice which I did obviously. They broiled the top for me as I prefer a well done pizza. It was a little greasy, but that was to be expected with the cupping pepperoni. The staff member let me sample one of their hard cider while I waited for my pizza, which was very nice. $40 bucks for a three topping pizza was a little much, but I would go back. read more

Great pizza place! Traveling from the Bay Area through Ukiah and decided to stop and get something to eat. Stopped at Slam Dunk Pizza and loved it. When we first arrived, there were minimal patrons. But within 30 minutes it was packed - always a good sign. Staff was really helpful, but I want to point out a specific person, Frank. He was the best, and he is the reason for the five stars. Tried Slam Dunk the first time with my coworkers and got the salad and pizza deal which was extremely affordable and the salad bar was stocked with quite a bit of options. Picked up a To-Go order and only waited about 20 minutes. (Was not called in, I ordered inside). The staff was friendly, the place is undergoing some renovations but wasn't too disorderly. Passing through town today with my mother, we were looking to grab a bite. Walked in, zero acknowledgement, so we seated ourselves. No menus, went to counter, still no acknowledgement, found two menus and took my seat. 5-10 minutes pass, still nothing. Were we supposed to order at the counter? Perhaps, but some indication of that would have been the minimum courtesy. Walked out because if they can't be bothered to acknowledge their customers. Service and food is so good. Our boy scout troop comes here every year on the way to Wente Summer Camp. The manager and staff are always so friendly and accommodating.
