We had reservations for Valentine's Day, probably a bad idea to begin with. Went in and they said our table wasn't ready and asked if we could wait at this other table. It was by the front door that was freezing and next to a screaming child. I knew it was temporary so it was fine. They came to take our order and I reminded them that they said they were moving us to another table. She said no, they weren't because there were no other tables. I didn't understand because there were other tables that I could see, and we were at the worst table in the restaurant. Fine, we dealt with the freezing wind (big storm here) and the screaming child with video games the whole time. I'm not sure where the romance was supposed to be, but the food was decent. It the end, they charged us for someone else's bill that was way higher. That was probably from the table we were supposed to be at. That was the icing on the cake, I guess. They literally could not have cared less about us, which is insane considering how much it costs to eat out. Treat your customers better. read more

This small restaurant has great service & the best food. One of my favorites is the brussel sprouts appetizers. This visit I had a steak & my hubby had the shepards pie. The shepards pie was good, but my steak melted in my mouth. It came with a cheesy steak sauce that was heavenly. They have 3 options for steak sauce, but the cheese one was the best. What a lovely experience. My fiancé made a reservation for my 29th birthday and I just have to say Patrona's staff is extremely creative and talented. The food was had such a wide range of flavors. Our waitress's name was Maria, and she was so attentive and so personable. The whole staff made my birthday absolutely special. 100% will be returning. It was my fiancé's first time at this restaurant he says "I believe this is the best food in Ukiah". Trust us just give it a try. It is worth it for the mixed drinks alone. The atmosphere is fantastic, with low, eclectic music setting the mood. You absolutely have to try the shrimp lettuce wrap--it's incredibly delicious! Honestly, I could have eaten two of those for dinner. The steak, Yukon mashed potatoes, and mixed vegetables were also delightful. I'll definitely be returning! I know the service at Patronas isn't always the best but at least The Heart Beat is one of my top favorite drinks in Ukiah... It was the Flower Bomb but sadly they took it away :/ This Heart Beat has a Sugar Rim on it makes the tart taste seem better that's my opinion at least. Busy, but roomy. The service is friendly, but hurried because it was so busy. The 4 at the next table had one fussy guest, but she couldn't tell the wait staff why she wasn't satisfied with the dish. She couldn't answer and the wait staff said she needed an answer to figure out what was wrong. She should have asked, "How can we improve it? What do you need? Would you like something else?" Found out the waitstaff was new, but still should have waited and asked, "How can I/we improve?" I had someone different and very friendly and attentive. Eye contact is always key in customer service. Large group next to me with children, which is challenging. Overall, the food was delicious. They are pricey, but proviide an ample amount of food. Ambiance was most definitely on point. Beautiful atmosphere, great music playing. Service was exceptional. I can't remember the waiters name but he was so great. I believe I've seen him work at the other place a couple doors down as well if that narrows it down as far as whom I am talking about. He was incredibly good and patient with us, he answered all of our questions and if he didn't know the answer he found out for us. No complaints about him at all. Very very happy with him. The food on the other hand was sub par. The menu looks great. They have alternative options so everyone can eat. Unless you are allergic to gluten, then I wouldn't trust getting anything on the so called "gluten free" menu. Other than that the menu is pretty good looking because there are vegetarian options, vegan options and (supposed) gluten free options and of course meats. Everything is locally sourced also. So it pains me to say what the food actually tasted like because I love all of those things I mentioned above. It was expensive for what it was. $16 for a shrimp cocktail with 4 prawns on a martini glass full of sprouts?? Really? The flavor of the sauce was really just horseradish, nothing special about the "special sauce." The flatbread small plate had way too much white sauce and it didn't even come out warm. So it was like a cold, stale with cold sauce piece of bread. The mocktail I had was delicious. I love that they have a mocktail menu because it's really nice to get a special drink when you don't consume alcohol. If I had a restaurant I would certainly have a mocktail menu that reflects this one because it was so good! I don't know what's better. It's either the onion rings or the fantastic customer service at the bar. This particular location has a quaint and cozy bar with a regular clientele on Friday nights. The lovely bartenderess was simply fabulous to watch making the most gourmet cocktails I have seen in a long time. Frankly, at an average of $12-$15 for the cocktails, for what you're getting, a beautiful and exotic concoction, it's money well spent. Enjoy your cocktail mesmerized by the comings and goings of all of the kitchen staff and waitresses with your bartender popping back-and-forth making sure that you were satisfied with everything that's going on. I have not had this much attention from a food service personnel in a very long time. Very friendly customers. Great onion rings! I'd like to read up on this particular place to find out how long they've been in business and the history. I think this would be a great write up for a foodie magazine or the local rags. While you're there, imagine if you will, the bar being a podcast station. Our waitress this evening has been thinking about creating a podcast that happens live at a bar. Can you imagine? Those who want to participate wearing microphones and headsets along with the bartenders and let the banter begin! I would tune in to that show and I hope it happens. Even better is a live cam! Best of luck with that idea. I ordered off-menu onion rings that you can order if the lunch fodder is still available in the kitchen. So very good with blue cheese dip sauce. Pair it with your neighbor at bar and share! $8.00. My tip to you is to take a look at the daily menu sheet for the cocktails at the bottom. Just had the best birthday dinner at Patrona's Restaurant. I had their Greens salad with their Salmon, small potatoes and small romaine lettuce with the best tasting base for the vegetables and salmon. Our service was wonderful with Marie our waitress. The new owners have done an incredible job with Patrona. We have gone a few times in the last couple of months and the food has been wonderful. (Try the Asian chicken salad or the shrimp wrap for lunch.) My problem was with the music today. They had some God awful reggae band on their single speaker and left it on throughout our entire meal. My wife asked our waitress politely if she could turn it down and I don't think she ever did. The music took the joy out of our lunch. From now on when we go into a restaurant we will definitely listen first. If those in charge read this, if you must play music please subscribe to a service. Playing one album of almost anything can ruin someone's meal. Music is intensely personal. One person's eclectic music is another person's nightmare. read more

Patrona is back on the menu, thanks to new ownership! Ventured in tonight with an eye on the new dishes that showcase the style and capability of the new owner/chefs, and was not disappointed. The halibut ("fresh off the bone, caught today") and asparagus and crispy prosciutto orchiette were great, with a nicely seasoned but impressively austere prep that showcased the local seasonal ingredients. The egg topping the pasta was to the second perfect, and if the halibut was a few seconds longer on the heat than we prefer, it was just by a few seconds. Patrona remains unwavering in their cocktail appeal. Our server, Credence, was a highlight of the evening. She's present, knowledgeable, entertaining and just overall memorably personal and real, putting a true Ukiah spin on a lovely night out. We've more frequently patronized other local spots in the last few years because our opinion on Patrona food was that it was (while overall appealing to local audiences) unexciting, a bit over sugared, and somewhat uneven from visit to visit in cook and seasoning, but tonight fulfilled our hopes for a new era. Waitress was great. Their drinks were kind of off the wall. We went there for appetizers which their current are supposed to be Indian. I have to say that they didnt follow good recipes you can find online to make Indian food. They made their own interpretation of what the Indian foods should be. One of the items was overcooked and tasted burned. The samosas were done to the point of almost burning them. The naan which is supposed to be light, fluffy, and spongy was a think slab of dough that wasnt cooked enough to not be doughy. After the experience with their appetizers my group decided to not order dinner and we left so I dont know what their regular menu tastes like. I live in Portland and am very used to Indian food and theres was very off. read more

Stopped in for lunch last Thursday. My wife and I each ordered a beef burger ($19.00 each), one with fries and the other with salad. The menu displayed "Sandwiches; Served with fries or salad" when we ordered the waiter said " there is an up charge for the salad." We pointed to the menu that said 'fries or Salad" with no mention for the additional charge for salad. She just responded that there is a charge. She promised to take off the $1.00 charge for the salad. After the meal when the bill arrived the "upcharge had not been removed. Total $39.00 for the burgers. to our surprise the bill also included a Credit Card Usage $1.17 and Kitchen Srchrg $1.37, neither of which were shown on the menu. I don't think that I've ever actually gotten food here, because if I was gonna write a review on the food, it would probably be a lot less stars, but I'll get into that after the booze. We usually come here cuz they have a nice patio area where you can chill and grab drink after drink, and enjoy some outdoors while still being protected by an enclosure that will keep the wolves out. If you can get here for Happy Hour, then I believe the drinks are half off, which is a recipe for anybody's good time! As for the restaurant itself, I think it's a little bougie for Ukiah. These are minimum wage lifestyle people here! I can't afford 12$ Mac'n'Cheese! or 16$ Ham Sammich! Get that corn outta mah face!! So yeah, I'll just grade this place on the artisinal drinks and fun patio area :D read more

This is by far one of the best seafood pastas I have ever had. Seafood tasted fresh, sauce was balanced well and coated all the noodles well, noodles were also cooked perfectly. Just added a pinch of red pepper and it was perfect. Looking forward to trying some of the other dishes. read more

I am so relieved that the new owners Mike and Bree are keeping up the standards of the previous owners (Craig and Bridgette). She is a very fine chef.
